Paradise in French St Martin
If I had to judge this hotel by our first 30 minutes in it, my review would not have been very good. Fortunately, all's well that ends well. After a difficult drive from the airport -- and, please be advised, if you rent a car and drive yourself as we did, you will be white-knuckled for the last two kilometers, which are extremely steep and winding -- the computers at the reception desk were down, and the clerk was unsure of which room to put us in. Turns out she guessed wrong -- we were sent to an occupied room, and we spent a good 15 minutes waiting, exhausted, in the hallway, until the bellman arrived with our bags, and then had to escort us back down to the desk to try again. Fortunately, the second attempt was successful, and the staff was extremely apologetic (although a free bottle of wine would have been nice!). Anyway, by next morning, the light of day revealed what a truly beautiful resort this is; the grounds are perfectly manicured and immaculate, and the rooms are luxuriously appointed -- although the shower has only a curious little half-door that makes it impossible to shower without soaking the floor, no matter how careful one is. The pool is huge and beautifully planted, and the wonderfully secluded beach of Anse Marcel is mere steps beyond it. Sumptuous-breakfasts are served in an open-air dining room, and are free for hotel guests. For comfort, convenience, and a beautiful setting, the Radisson Blu Anse Marcel can't be beat! Be aware, however, that electric power in the hotel is on the French standard of 220 volts through a two-round-pin plug, so you will need a converter and plug adapter to use appliances from home, or to charge your cell phone.

Short drive from hotel
The hotel has its own restaurant right on the beach. However, the service was a bit disorganized when we ate there on our first night, and I thought the prices were a bit high, although I had no complaints about the food. Less than 15 minutes away by car is the quaint village of Grand Case, which boasts some of the best French restaurants on the island.

lovely vacation with family
From the moment we walked into the lobby, the staff was lovely, helpful and quick without ever hovering or being overbearing. Beautiful calm, quiet beach, fantastic food, very quiet rooms, beautiful pool and great gym. Would return in a heartbeat. Only thing I would have changed would be to arrange for water transport from airport to hotel. Renting a car was a nightmare from National and driving around the Island not pleasant or safe. Road conditions are terrible so water travel would be much preferred.

Outstanding experience
We were there at the low season and there were literally 20 people staying at resort. The staff was so wonderful & attentive and kind. We got to know them so well over 7 days. The grounds were stunning. While the pool was closed to be serviced, the beach was perfect place to lounge. Didn't know what we were missing with the pool being closed. Spa was five stars as well. We WILL be coming back!

Memorable 30th Wedding Anniversary
Had a wonderful 7 night stay. Rented a car from the airport and drove to the hotel. Was a little hard to find. You may want to take the water taxi and rent a car at the hotel. May be a little more expensive. Unbelievable pool & grounds. Nice beach surrounded by mountains. Calm, warm water. An average breakfast buffet included in price. Eating on the grounds is super expensive. 2 coffees and 2 deserts cost us $25. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. No views of the ocean. Computerized stocked bar, whatever you pick up you buy - BEWARE. We placed sandwiches in the fridge & it charged us. Luckily they removed the charges after another guest at the pool warned us. Very nice work out facility - not huge but nice equipment. Be sure to bring a converter for electricity if you need to charge your phone, etc. Didn't get phone service on the French side but did on the Dutch side. WiFi in lobby, plug in in room. Did Scoobydoo excursion to Prickley Pear one day and Loterie Farm extreme zip line another. Also went on a 4 hr fishing trip through Lee's in Simpson Bay but only caught 1 baracuda. Very enjoyable trip. Met alot of nice, friendly people.

Sky's The Limit in Grand Case if you want a good, cheap meal w/very friendly workers. Skip Talk of the Town next door, they are super rude & very poor service.

50th birthday celebration
Excellent customer, service, quick to respond to requests, very friendly, first time I actually slept though the night in year's:) Food excellent! Spa service was again the best form any experiance I have had around the world. My only critique would be to add a little entertainment at night for guests who may not want to venture out one evening,

We have been to St. Martin three previous times last staying at the Radison (for the first time) in September of 2010. We enjoyed our stay there immensely save one issue. We had to change our room three times due to a rusty/brown water issue. The water literally came out of the faucets looking like weak coffee. The management was extremely apologetic about it explaining that they were trying to remedy the water source problem with new suppy lines. I hope that it has been fixed? The grounds, pool and lobby are very nice. The rooms are dated but clean. The hotel staff was as nice as they could be, which made you feel quite welcomed. As beaches go, their beach is okay if you have small children (very little surf). The island truly offers some of the best beaches in the Caribbean. Although, Orient Beach is nothing like it used to be twenty years ago. The beach chairs, vendors, cruise line buses, etc. have taken away from it's once natural beauty. Try Baie Rouge or Baie Longue if you like more natural and less populated beaches? Back to the Radison. Their free breakfast buffet is quite good. Hopefully it will be included in your hotel package. If you rent a car, you will find that if you get in after midnite, you might have to search for parking spots. As the hotel has limited nearby parking. There is ample parking further walking distance from the hotel though. Grand Case is only about a five minute drive from the hotel. Need I say more? In summary the Radisson is well worth your visit providing the water issue has been resolved?
