Shertaon - Old San Juan

Very comfortable. Nice workout facility and pool. Very good breakfast. Pleasant staff. The location was a little noisy with, being right by the docks, but I had not trouble sleeping and it was nice to be in the mix of so much tourist-centered activity.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Check out the small plaza just soutwest of the San Cristobal Castle. It's got a few hole-in-the-wall places where you can get safe, delicious, authentic Puerto-Rican carry-out, like empanadas de carne and jugo de pacha (maracuyá).

Frequent visitor

Have been to PR several times. Good location but the hotel itself lacks an inhouse shop. Cleaning staff was so-so. Rooms could be better insulated for noise. Would need to have a really great rate to stay there again.

Great Getaway for a Long Weekend

The weather was absolutely beautiful and this hotel is footsteps from culture, restaurants, bars, shopping and beautiful views. The only drawbacks were some hidden fees with the hotel and that it's not close to a beach. If you don't mind adding another 15 bucks a day to your bill and hanging out at their rooftop pool (or taking a 12 dollar taxi to the nearest beach), you've found your hotel!

Great location but noisy on the lower floors

Difficult to beat the location for visits to Old San Juan. I was in on a combined business/pleasure trip and found travel to business districts easy and convenient; most of the times travelling against traffic. Only complaint: Hotel's function rooms are popular and noise traveled to my fourth floor room; listened to music until 4:00 AM!

12 days, 11 nights in beautiful Viejo San Juan

Friendly, clean hotel in a great location. Restaurants, shop, and historical sites within walking distance. Perfect for a short stay before a cruise with the port literally across the street or a long stay like mine where you really want to explore the city and island. Staff was courteous, hot tub was relaxing, and had no issues during my stay. Would recommend to anyone unless you want to be right by the beach.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Instead of paying for the valet parking, drive around the corner to the parking garage with the $4 sign across the street from Restaurante Raíces. It's $4 all night from 6pm to 6am and 50 cents each hour after that.

Do not stay here!!!

First of all I am puertorrican and this is the first time I stay in the island as a turist and is terrible the hotel doesnt have parking !!! Yoy have to pay an extra 22 dollars per day to have a decent and secure parking. It is way overprise. And you can stay in a better place outside of the metro area.
