Coral by the Sea Hotel

Friendly staff and well located hotel with fair size room. Very small bathroom.

You need a room to sleep this is it nothing more. TV works, room & bathroom is very small, room is cramped with two beds and a table, sofa, night stand, no alarm clock. But it's right in a good location close to beach, restaurants & all. Not for long stays, we only stayed for one night to catch a flight at 6 am.

The front desk was friendly and helpful. The facilities could be much better. The price is way too high for the accommodations. Dining area was ok. location was good; Close to the beach, restaurants and bars.

I am JUST now reviewing this hotel because I thought I did back when we stayed in Nov of 2006 and realizing that we will be returning to PR in Nov 2012 I remembered this hotel. If you're looking for high class this is not it but value? GREAT! It is literally walking distance from the beach. Located in prime Isla Verde location, across the street there is a really nice all night coffee/sandwich shop and the most we remember about this hotel? THE BEDS!!!! Sooo comfy! and the sower was huge and the staff was great! The ONLY this we disliked was the parking. Not enough space. Other than that...hey! We're going back! :)

The hotel, well is just a hotel with two beds and limited space for four people. The beds were non supportive to say the least, the room smelled where we had to get disinfectant and spray. That was the best part. The first night my wife and kids were bitten by something. It gets better. On the floor and above was the youth teams from the Dominican Republic. Terrors on two legs. They speak at about 100MPH to each other and at each other at volume that you swear you was at a market bartering. They slam the doors, trying to get drunk where the hotel people almost called the police on them. The beach was a good walk from the hotel, not at the hotel as published. The food was highly priced, no pool and about two irons and one ironing board which we had to wait to use. Limited cable channels and lengthy password for the wifi with limited access as it kicks you out even if you are not logged out. But it was indeed an experience. Next time , pay the money and get quality even if it is for lesser days, you will have less regrets.

Have stayed at Coral By the Sea before and found it to be much cleaner this time. Door locks are tricky and of questionable security. There is a security guard outside, who seems to function mainly to manage parking. There was always someone at the hotel desk, but that person didn't seem to be paying attention to who came in. Also, on at least one occasion, the desk clerk did not have basic information - the time of Mass at the local church - that I would expect a hotel desk clerk to have. The location of the hotel, just off Isla Verde, is perfect, and an easy drive from the airport and to other parts of San Juan.

We only needed a place to stay for one night before leaving on a cruise. We were looking for someplace relatively inexpensive and convenient to either the airport or the pier. Coral by the Sea filled these requirements. The room was clean but spartan. There was a good TV and free wireless internet which was important to us. The staff was friendly and answered all of our questions patiently and politely. Once we got our bearings, there were a number of eating venues within walking distance. I would not recommend this hotel for a long stay, but for a short stay before moving on, it met our needs.
