Area description
There is no place quite like a tropical volcanic island, and no island in the Caribbean quite like Puerto Rico. The geography of the island is very unusual, as it encompasses distinctly different kinds of topography and microclimates in a relatively small area. A rugged mountain range runs across the center from east to west, which often prevents rain clouds from passing to the south. The north side of the island is covered by dense vegetation, limestone formations, and rushing streams, while, the south side is sun-toasted terrain, home to tropical dry forests and many species of exotic birds. Puerto Rico is only about 100 miles long and 35 miles wide, so its most distant points are only a three-hour drive apart. It also means that just about every tropical landscape in existence is a short trip from wherever you happen to be.

the Hilton Tower is not a good place to be! They moved me to the garden wing after the A/C didn't . the door didnt close and the bathroom flooded! BUT I needed to demand the manger to make it happen. very disappointing for a Hilton!

Great Location, a little pricey

The location of the hotel was A+, really close to Old San Juan, and the beach and pool access were amazing. The restaurants were a little pricey, so that was a little bit of a bummer.

Supreme location

Supreme location, with the perfect private beach, delightful sea breeze and a stunning view. Nice, clean rooms. Very friendly staff, even though we only spent one night. Overpriced food and beverage. Breakfast buffet was limited compared to other hotels of same and lower category. Would have liked to have a minibar in the room, with soft drinks and snacks. .

Walk 10-15 minutes to El Hamburger, very rustic family restaurants with the best home made hamburgers in town.

Relaxed in San Juan

We enjoyed a nice 5 night getaway. The food was good, but overall prices were a little too high for quality. Morton's of course was amazing and worth the cost, but others didn't feel like the price matched the taste/experience. Room was very clean and all staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed wasn't as comfortable as we had expected. The beach and pool areas were very well maintained and inviting. Overall I would recommend staying at this hotel- perfect location between Condado and Old San Juan. It was definitely a great experience!

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

The local bus stop to go into Old San Juan was a 2 minute walk across the park from the hotel entrance and was only $0.50/person instead of the $17 cab ride one way. Wish we had figured that out the first day!

They took great care of us!

We were traveling with a 13 month old and the hotel staff could not have been nicer or more accomodating. They brought us dishwashing liquid to wash his bottles, served him first at the hotel restaurants, and were welcoming and kind in every way. The few gripes I had were very minor- a bathroom door that didn't close all the way, just a little too far from Old San Juan to get there without wasting money on a rental car. But overall, it was a relaxing family trip made very easy by the great staff.

Average

Just got back from a four day stay, beach and pools are lovely. Room appeared a little run down and well as the rest of the hotel. Staff are friendly. Ate at The Lemon Grass at the hotel and had a delicious meal, definitely give it a try. Location of hotel is good you can walk to Condado and it is only a 15 minute ride to airport. We stayed here many times before disappointed to see it looking a bit run down.

How can this be rated four stars????.

Stayed 9 days and couldn't wait for it to be over. Standard rooms are small, dated and carpets both in room and hall were dirty. Hotel lobby looks like 1950s , Miami, Holiday Inn and had the noise level of a train station. Our room had a balcony but, our view was of A/C ducts with all accompanying noise. Asked to be moved on day 1, but offer to move us came on day 8. Very pricey and not worth the money.
