Morroco warmth
Friendly staff but not overbearing. Good location, 15 mins walk from the main square. Very good breakfast in the morning sets you up for a long walk around the sites. Room had no safe and the reception didn't have one either so I ended up carrying all valuables around with me day and night. The city appeared safe even when going off track so security wasn't an issue.

Good
Good location, easy to find. A little far from the square by foot if you don't mind walking 15 minutes. In general, it's OK. Don't forget, by law there is a 16.5 Dihram tax per person demanded by the government, which is not included in the price. So don't get mad if you are asked so.

Brilliant value for money
We stayed here for 5 nights in November and couldn't have loved the hotel more. It's located in a peaceful and serene neighbourhood where we felt very safe, but just 15 minutes walk to the medina. Staff were very helpful and friendly, and the hotel and room were spotless. I must give a special mention to the maid who serviced our room and did an absolutely outstanding job - really going above and beyond. Although we are a couple we didn't specify that we wanted a double bed and so arrived to two singles, which we didn't mind. However the maid must have realised we were a couple and so she remade the bed with a double sheet and quilt, complete with a sprinkling of rose petals and towels folded like swans...we really felt like they were paying attention to detail. We also used the spa which was lovely and good fun (although ladies beware - you're expected to be topless for the traditional hammam!) We had a fantastic time and I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great room, decent service, but they will still rip you off somehow.
Everything was great apart from when we asked for a taxi for 2 people. The hotel concierge said that with our luggage a taxi is too small and we would need a shuttle bus. And that the shuttle bus would be cheaper. LIES. Taxis are available for large parties and a ride from the centre to the airport is 12 euros NOT 25 euros. DONT BE FOOLED.

Nightlife tip:
Long walk from hotel
DONT talk to anyone in the medina. All they want is your money. There's not a single genuine person there. If you want the real experience, get out of the tourist traps.

Perfect Location
On arrival to the Airport no Transfer was sent, me and my friend were waiting at the Airport for an hour until we managed to arrange a taxi ourself. When we got to the Hotel the Receptionist did not understand us. The Hotel itself was very modern and clean, the overall service was good apart from some staff members not understanding English fully. On departure we were told to pay an additional fee for the 'City Tax' was not happy about this as we were not aware of this! Really enjoyed the stay as we didnt let anything get to us and Marrakech is a beautiful City, definitely would visit the City again.

You can't find better located hotel. The service is excellent, rooms are beautiful. The housekeeping staff do good job and leave decoration surprise everyday. There is only two Disadvantages : the pool is small, the spa could be better. In general i was very satisfied and i recommand this place.

Great hotel in Hivernage
I loved the hotel. My room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The room was spacious and the bathroom was too with plenty of sink space. The staff was incredible and very friendly. They arranged my day trips and catered to my needs, granted there weren't many needs. The hotel has a nice bar and a rooftop terrace that is quite scenic, a hammam, pool and a restaurant. It is two blocks from Mohammed V Blvd. and fifteen minutes walking to the medina and Place Djemma-El-Fna. I really liked the area I was in as it isn't as chaotic as the medina and there are many high end restaurants and shops in walking distance. There is a small bodega next door that has anything you might need like bottled water and toiletries. All in all my stay was very nice here and I would recommend it and stay here again myself.

Don't be offended by locals trying to earn a few extra dirham from you. It's small change to you but to them it is a lot. Haggle hard and enjoy the evolution of the sale while in the souks and with cabbies. Knowing a few phrases and words in Arabic will open doors for you and will allow you to better experience the generosity and friendliness of the Moroccan people.

Good hotel in The Hivernage District
Had a room in the Hotel Delarossa for three nights and was very happy with my decision. The room was clean and dusted and even had rose petals on the surfaces. The bathroom was of decent size and contained a tub/shower, a sink with with room for stuff on it and a toilet. The room itself was large and had everything I would expect from a 3-star or higher hotel(safe, wifi, large bed, reading area, TV, coffee machine, a/c). I was very happy with the room. The hotel arranged a day trip for me to Essaouiri and has a book of all tours and they will arrange everything for you. They can also arrange cab and airport transfers, which is very handy in a place you have never been too. Hotel Delarossa is located in the Hivernage district, about a five minute walk to Mohammed V Ave and there are tons of restaurants and shops in the area. It is about fifteen minutes to walk to the medina and Place Djemma-El-Fna. The area around the hotel is beautiful with hydrangea, palms, bougainvillea and greenery everywhere. I was never concerned with safety anywhere as the whole city seemed relatively safe to me. I enjoyed the staff very much and the restaurant wait staff and separate bar staff were all very accomodating. My only complaint would be an errant rooster that crowed early in the morning every day somewhere in the neighborhood and no fault of the hotel at all. It adds to the ambience of Marrakesh. I didn't try the pool or Hammam but was happy that those options were there as well. I would stay here again.

Cabbies are notorious for not using meters in Marrakesh and you can get anywhere in the city for 25 Dirham during the day and about sixty at night if you can haggle the price.Very cheap compared to Europe and America. Haggling over ten dirham is like haggling over a dollar and didn't seem to be worth the time and the cabbies were much friendlier.
