My family had a great time
We had a great time on vacation and the only drawbacks were those that we knew about before we booked out trip. The only downsides were: 1. Wading in the water was very limited due to the rocks. You need water shoes or forget it. 2. The Internet connection was poor and expensive. They really should provide an area with free wi-fi. 3 you have to save pool chairs as early as 5:00 am no kidding. That is about the only issues and we read these before we left. We had fantastic weather and had a great time. My six year old just loved the kids club and asked to go once she saw all the kids having fun.

Great time
My husband and I traveled over spring break with 3 kids, 8,10,12. The pool was great and activity people really tried to get kids involved in various activities. Beach was nice and not very crowded. We bought platinum and felt it was worth it. We had booked a 1 bdrm and a junior suite connecting and they didn't have that available so they upgraded us to a 2 bedroom top floor, ocean front. I think we had the best room in the place! The only downfall I felt was you could not get food by the pool. One person did point out that by not having food by pool there were no birds or stray cats so I guess that is a good trade off.

Perfect for Families
We loved it. The place was totally isolated from everything. Which was great because there was no one bugging us on the beach to buy things. And it was not crowded. The beach area was small, but great activites included such as: kayaking, sailing, and boogie boarding. Lots of activities pool side. The food was as good as can be expected for all inclusive. Hey, if I don't have to cook it --its GREAT! We upgraded to a ocean front which was WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Take as much of your own sunscreen as possible. The hotel gift shop was so expensive for that stuff!

Excellent for Families
We have been to Mexico 6 times prior, but this is the first time we brought our children. They are ages 9 - 18. Of all the places we've been, there is no doubt this was the ideal place to take your family! The beach isn't the cleanest from seaweed, but the sand is georgous, and they do a good job of trying to keep it clean. The pool is awesome, the kids loved the rock jump. They have fun activities during the day, and nice shows at 9:00 in the evening. The beds are comfortable, and the maids do a great job. If you are taking your family, this is a great place!

Good....
We spent our spring break at El Cid. Proximity to the airport was great. A short 20-25 minute ride. Food overall was decent at the buffets and restaurants. We tried all three restaurants and didn't walk away wowed by any of them. Service was also fine. They have wait staff on the beach, which you don't see at a lot of places. We upgraded to the Platinum package, which included an oceanfront room, that also is something that you don't find most places. I sat on the balcony in the mornings and evenings enjoying the ocean. The beach was ok. but I have definitely seen nicer farther south down the coast. Tons of seaweed in the water and washing up on shore. They do rake it up and haul it away a couple times a day. Also, lots of trash on the water. Very rocky in the water on well more than half of the beach. Check in includes a time-share pitch, but they did take no for an answer and we never heard anything about it again. I give El Cid overall three stars because I can't give them 3 1/2 and they are not a 4. It is a clean, comfortable place to stay for the money. I didn't pick it as we booked as part of a group that had already selected this resort. We had fun, but when we return will go farther south again as the water and beach is so much nicer.

Amazing Family Destination
We had a great stay with 11 people including 6 kids over spring break. Resort is small, but we love that with kids. Easy to get to from airport. Clean, Friendly staff, pretty grounds and non stop activity. Food is good, liquor good too. We are planning the return already.

Great time
Everyone at the resort was helpful and the resort was very clean, which is important to me. I wish the outside bars would have stayed open past 10pm but there was the lobby bar until midnight.

Every thing was perfect but there was a lot of seaweeds and rock in the sea. You must bring watershoes......If you like to play in the sea, change the hotel otherwise everything was fantastic and the pool is huge and the kids like it very much...

Great family vacation
The food, the hotel, the staff and the room was very good. The beach was the only negative point of our trip. It`s small and there`s rocks or corals every where. You have to put your shoes to go into the water... The kids loved the kid`s club. They had a lots of activities for them and the staff takes care of them very well.
