Incredible ALL inclusive Heavenly vacation

This is so much more than a hotel or a resort. This is an amazing resort filled with happy staff and never ending amenities! We have zero complaints! Food was excellent with plenty of options and choices. Activities were also offered and available. Snorkeling was incredible right off the swim beach! Salt water pool was heavenly. Staff couldn't have been more attentive and happy always happy and friendly. Rooms were wonderful and comfortable. ...but who spends time in the room? We will return for years to come!

Overall is a great hotel the things that we like: -food selection -spa is a most -pool -beach -activities around the area -bed (mattress) really comfortable -staff is polite Things that we didn't like: -bathroom break the first night -pillows -no clean towels at the pool, we have to wait 15min for new ones! And is low season... -staff are not well round it -have to do reservations for 2 restaurant at 8am day before is not organize and is out of control -the use recycle water for the grass so one night at 6pm we have to leave the room for the smell

Amazing

I have to say, for the price of this resort, our expectations were set relatively low. They were blown out of the turquoise water! The staff is unbelieveably helpful and wonderful. The food was even better; quality and selection. My only two gripes were the wifi connectivity which I was actually never able to connect to, and the water temp in the room; not always the hottest shower. But this was my first all inclusive resort and I couldn't have asked for a better stay!

Great Place! Lots to do!

We stayed the week of March 24th for 8 nights! Had a really wonderful relaxing time. Good food, good shows, awesome beach, nice vendors, good bartenders and always something to do. Always open chairs at the beach to find your favorite spot. If you want to be close to the beach and pool, stay in a Mayan suite. It's well worth the upgrade. Great Value for the price! If you like to see ruins and explore Mexico on your own, rent a car. We did and had no problems.

Excellent Staff

When we arrived (14 of us), we requested a different room from Riviera to Colonial from the one we were given & the staff person were super helpful! This was my 4th time at the Grand Palladium & plan to return next year! The staff & the resort are wonderful & I would recommend the resort to anyone.

Beautiful grounds and beach, awful food

The grounds and beach were beautiful. Loved the lush foliage and wildlife. Grounds were very well kept and even the walkways were scrubbed and cleaned regularly. Loved the open lobbies so you could really get that balmy, tropical breeze. Food was awful and the beds were hard. We stayed in the Kantenah and the room itself was nice. Good size. Some of the furnishings, like the seat cushions in the restaurants, were shabby and needed to be replaced. Many of the staff were very good and extremely helpful, others were just fair. Will not be back, food just too bad and beds could be more comfortable. Too bad, because otherwise it would be a very nice hotel.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Akumal Beach is very pretty. Can swim with turtles. Five minute drive. Can take collectivo ($3 per person each way) just outside of hotel which drops you off at the main road and you walk about 10 minutes to beach or can sometimes bargain with a cab or van service for just a few dollars more and have door to door service and guaranteed a seat, which you are not on the collectivo. Can ask staff at hotel entrance about cab charges, they vary.

Great Family Break

extensive grounds, eco friendly, great for walking, great beach area, safe for families good facilities, daily activities, nice spa many buffets with good food, burgers (fish, meats) made fresh per request, most restaurants don't require reservations, hence more flexible I have traveled to Cancun/Riveria Maya several times and this is among the few resorts worth staying again!
