First all-inclusive stay
Let me first say that I had never been to Mexico prior to this trip, nor had I ever stayed at an all-inclusive anywhere prior to this trip either. I loved the resort for the fact that it's really 3 resorts in 1 all-inclusive giant resort. Which gave you PLENTY of options of pools, beaches, places to eat and more. We stayed at Coba which I really like, however, if I were to go again I would stay at Akumal just because of it's proximity to the beach and the fact that it sits in between Coba and the Tulum resorts. The buffet food was mediocre, nothing to write home about but I didn't expect anything spectacular. It was fine. The finer dinner restaurants were all great - we dined at Pescador & Tequila. The staff were helpful, if not a little slow. We arrived early in the day but our rooms weren't available until 3 pm EXACTLY so if you arrive early, make sure your swimsuits are accessible so you're not waiting around. My only complaint was that there were a couple times we tried to contact the front desk or housekeeping from our rooms and NO ONE ever answered the phone. That was a bit annoying.

First couple trip
It was a great experience. The staff are AMAZING! It was our first time in a resort and it was perfect. The only thing i did not like is the free wi-fi was only available in the lobby or you had to pay extra to have it in your room. But besides that. I recommend this resort. The transportion from the airport is also worth it to get. Great staff.

Great resort between Playa and Tulum
One of the largest resorts at Riviera Maya between Playa Del Carmel and Tulum. Great food, great service, great location. Only minor negative side was that room had this specific "humidity" smell. Alternatives (also large many-lobbies resorts) to consider are Barcelo and Sirens.

Very Happy
Booked this for a 4 night 5 day vacation, the beach and grounds were fantastic. My only real complaint would be that reservations for the restaurants were hard to come by.

Customer Service Needs Improvement
Difficult check-in and poor customer service overall. The only stand out employee who gave us great customer service was a bartender named Christian. Poor wifi service, not enough towels in our room and a rocky beach. Golden premium room/status was not worth it.

Customer Service Lacking
The facillities and grounds are beautiful, however the customer service was the worst that we have ever experienced in Mexico. Check-in was unorganized and took nearly an hour. Internet service was not good. Could only get dinner reservations 1 out of 4 nights that we stayed. Saw no benefit of the Golden premium room that we paid for.

great week
We traveled the week of March 24 and had a wonderful experience. The property is immaculate and the staff work so hard to make your stay special. We email room and dinner requests before we left and they were the were honored. - amazing We spent most of time at the coba beach which was great no problem finding a chair. Its hard to complain when everyone is working so hard to make you stay pleasant. The only down side is the travel distance from the Cancun Airport we took a non stop private transfer i took a little over an hour. We would return.

Relaxing family vacation
Our family LOVED this resort! First of all, the 3 resorts are beautiful and very clean. Although the property is huge, the trams between resorts are easy to navigate and readily available. The staff is so friendly. Even as you walk around the property, every staff member you pass says hello. My daughter celebrated her 13th birthday on our trip and the staff went out of their way to make it special for her. Housekeeping decorated our room with balloons and towel art on the beds, they gave her a special cake at Portofino, and even the dolphin trainers at Dolphinarium had the dolphins sing happy birthday. The buffets offer a wide variety of fresh foods daily. You can choose 3 a la carte restaurants during a one week stay. We ate at El Pescador (fish), Portofino (Italian), and Tequila (Mexican). We liked them all, but the fish restaurant was my favorite. Food is available 24 hours a day at a snack shack which is more like a mini buffet. All of the pools are very clean, but my favorites were at Akumal and Tulum because there was also beach access near the pool. Finding a lounge chair can be a challenge since people get up very early to reserve them in the morning, however, even on a holiday week we always got at least one or two chairs. The beach is huge and spans the length of two resorts. It is a bit rocky as you first get in the water, so bring water shoes. There are more lounge chairs and hammocks available at the beach than the pool, but it's easy to go back and forth. My children (13 and 8) chose not to use the kids club, but I noticed that they had shows for the kids daily and even had staff members dressed up as disney characters. The waterpark at Coba is much bigger than it looks in the pictures. The rooms were very clean and adequate, but not luxurious as compared to the rest of the resort. The bathroom floor gets very slippery after showering because there is a glass partition instead of a shower curtain, so be sure to put a towel down on the floor. I read in previous reviews that the rooms have a musty smell, which is true. I brought Glade plug in air fresheners, and it was not noticeable. There are 3 shows nightly at each resort. The Michael Jackson show was the best. The others were average. There is a Mexican Fiesta once a week for an extra charge of $15pp but we did not attend. This is our 4th all inclusive stay and definitely our favorite resort by far. I wish we could've stayed two weeks!

If you are staying in Coba you can easily catch a tram from almost anywhere in the resort to take you straight to the beach. No need to walk to the lobby.
