El Dorado Royale and Casitas Royale, A Spa Resort, Gourmet - Adults Only All Inclusive

Enjoyed beautiful scenery & tranquil beachfront. Experienced great food selections and evening entertainment shows. The Spa massage was wonderful & relaxing. Resort Personal was Excellent.

I had a blast and wonderful time at the resort. They had activities throughout the day and evening entertainment that was enjoyable. I would have like to be more varied in beer selection...only have XX. Also I went with a family but felt like a couples resort, but some singles there. Most activities geared towards couple as well. It could have been the time of year (end of May/beginning of June) typically honeymoon season. I did have another family member go in January and said it was not the same. I would recommend this resort...it was very relaxing and every one was friendly.

From the moment we arrived, late evening, we were treated as VIP's; champagne in the lobby, personal concierge, quick tour of the grounds and then settled into our gratis upgrade. The staff are wonderful, very attentive to your needs and that you are enjoying yourself, so friendly. The room was great! Large and airy with view of the ocean and pool below our casitas (upgrade.) The beach was beautifully groomed each morning.We had fantastic food at the Italian restaurant, great breakfasts at La Isla, really yummy lunch at the health bar and good food at the other eateries. Did yoga by the seaside, a bicycle tour, and danced til 1 or 2 several nights (live music was hit and miss but DJ was really fun!) Bought spa package and had an incredible massage and facial on the beach (massage was good, location was the kicker.) I went with my sis for 4 days as a surprise for her birthday (can't wait to go back with my hubby, we are pretty athletic/outdoor folks so we'll get more of the local attractions in.) It was truly a fantastic experience, we felt pampered all the way! I know nothing of other hotels but this one is very green. Our bike tour was somewhat of a education about their renewable energy sources, hydroponic gardening and how they are supporting the local environment (mangrove redevelopment.) We were impressed with their efforts and resources.

Hotel room was exceptional. Very clean and well kept. Staff was helpful.

Most everything good was good the staf need it more trainning.Sepecially on the comunications.

The good: Food and restaurant choices were excellent, the rooms and grounds were impeccably clean and beautiful. The bad: No WiFi in our room (which all rooms were avertised to have), which was important for us to have. Requested it to be fixed or change room with no success in getting, just received a lot of lip service. The shower swung across extreme temperatures at a rapid pace, requested it to be fixed with no success. Beds were very hard. No alcohol beverages in room other than beer. There were many things not included in the all inclusive package, ie., lobster dinner at JoJo's restaurant, if you wish to purchase they start at $55 a lobster, bottles of wine can be purchased to serve in room starting at $65 a bottle, candle light dinner on beach and other higher end dinners were extra. One thing that really bothered us is that you felt like you had to tip everyone that served you. Tips should be included but you were made to feel uncomfortable if you did not tip. Lastly, if you wanted to take a nap in your room during the day, it was virtually impossible to have a restful one because there were approx. 4 people a day to service your room for various purposes. We tried to fend them off with our Do Not Disturb sign, but when you used that they would call your room to make sure you do not want service. Lastly, if you asked one person for assistance and it was not their job, they could not and would not help you, other than direct you to a person who could. We did not use the spa services or any other excursions so cannot comment on those.

I enjoyed a lot of different things at the resort itself like playing water polo, towel art folding, soccer and sand/water volleyball. The staff really tried to get everyone involved and welcome. They did a great job. My wife and I also did a few things outside the resort. We went Market 28 (Flea Market kind of) which was a market in downtown Cancun, which I don't recommend doing. The people were really pushy and annoying at times. We also went on a day trip to a place callled Rio Secreto, which is an underground cave and go through the underground river system exploring the cage. A lot of fun. The last major thing we did was jet skiing and snorkeling which was fun and enjoyed in Moroma.

There for a wedding spent one night there. Previous 6 nights spent in a Timeshare 2 miles down the road, 2 nights afterward in Cancun Marriott.

THIS HOTEL IS WAY OVERPRICED,ROOMS VERY OLD,SMALL.UNLES YOU WERE A VACATION CLUB MEMBER,YOU COULD NOT EVEN RIDE A BICYCLE.I EXPRESSED MY CONCERN TO THE MANAGEMENT DEPT,I WAS TOLD THATS THE WAY IT IS.[...]

This was an amazing hotel to spend our honeymoon. The room we stayed in had a bit of a mildew-y smell which upset me a bit at first, but it soon became clear that getting rid of it is probably very difficult in the climate they live in. That minor detail was so worth it. The food was absolutely superb. 5-star quality everywhere we ate. The restrooms in public areas were immaculate. Very romantic atmosphere. Lush gardens - complete paradise. Can't wait to return. One other downside - while they were SUPER nice and helpful once we got there, it was difficult to get a hold of them beforehand to confirm our reservation. They really need to acquire a 1800 number as MANY of their guests are from the US and a toll free number in the age of cell phones would have been very nice. There was also some confusion with Lomas-Travel that they recommended for our excursions and who is in their lobby - but nothing that was too extreme. Overall, an amazing experience.
