Great Hotel Shame About The Beach

Great hotel very comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. The food was very good for an all inclusive. The sand on the beach is very nice but don't expect to swim in the wonderful sea, it is very rocky and there is lots of coral right outside the hotel. If you want to swim you have to walk 5 or 10 minutes along the beach.

Great Family Spring Break Vacation

This was our first trip taking the kids to Mexico and it was everything we could have asked for. The rooms, restaurants, staff, beach, and activities were great. The only suggestions would be more lounge chairs, better poolside music and activities. Would definitely go back!!!

Food was terrible

The family got food poisoning from the Mexican buffet on the last nigth. We also had a number of clothing items taken from our room, including 3 pairs of shoes.

Friendly people, great food and drink, very satisfied

As a young couple, it was our first all-inclusive experience and it was a delight. I am picky about food and drink and was impressed on both fronts. The house wine is Chilean, and both the white and the sparking were really fantastic and refreshing. The mixed drinks were super as well. The food too was far better than I had imagined -- loved the themed Mexican buffet and event that kicked off our stay, as well as the choice of restaurants. We had the opportunity to eat a different dish each meal, some Mexican, some more international (but always with a Mexican twist -- the Asian restaurant has rock shrimp tacos that were unbelievable). It was also extremely accessible from both the airport and to sites in the area. We rented a car and would do so again. And the staff! Unbelievable friendly, kind people. We were so happy with everyone we spoke with and were especially impressed by the entertainment team.

Great Location and Exceptional Staff

This is a beautiful location. The Beach is great - snorkeling and diving available through the hotel. Plenty of beach chairs, bars, food and waiters nearby. The staff were all VERY friendly and warm. Never a frown - always accommodating. The food was good. Breakfast great. Lunch - lots of very good options. Dinner one night in the French place was outstanding (paid the extra $40 for the huge lobster platter thing) but the other dinners ( Asian, Seaside Grill, Italian) were average. I will definitely go back!

Wedding Escape

Very nice resort with good food at all restaurants. Rather long meals but if you like relaxing meal times this was quite nice. Pretty nice beach with 2 pools. One of the pools should be set up for adults only. The only real issue with the resort is the amount of children. It is a family resort and the kids do take over the nicest pool where the swim up bar is located. You know going in that it allows kids so if this is an issue choose elsewhere. Overall a very nice place with good sized rooms.

expected more

Just returned from dreams tulum, endless beach to explore and good snorkling out past resort swim beach. Staff is outstanding, food is average, shrimp tacos-yum. Did not like that kids were allowed at the adult quiet pool. Cheap tickets booking and service was excellant-very happy with their service.

Take a taxi or the bus to Tulum ruins. skip the tours, it is only $5 USD entry and you can explore on your own. You do not need a guide for snorkling there.

Not a Great start. Better for Children than Couples.

The first day experience was not great and that usually tarnishes the whole experience. Our room looked nothing like the pictures we saw before we booked. It was a garden view room. It was large, but old and musty. Curtain was ripped and dirty. Lights on the fan didn't work. Bed extremely hard and uncomfortable and bathroom stank of sewage. Not happy at all. Slept there for one night and complained the next day. We were moved to a new room which was much better and closer to what we expected to get initially. First day was still marred by this experience though. What really upset my wife however, was we were told to come for a welcome breakfast at 8am where they would do a small introduction of the resort and show us all the facilities. Instead, it was a 2hour presentation on vacation packages you could purchase at their various other resorts. They were nice about it, but not what we wanted to do on our first morning there at all. The worst part was they gave us a voucher for our time which was supposed to be redeemable anywhere on the resort for gifts, spa treatment, etc, but we most places we tried to use it said they didn’t accept it. Waste of our time. After getting through these initial hiccups, we started to have a much better time. It's a nice resort. Large and great for families as they have many activities for kids. We didn't realize how geared it was to children though, but that was our faux pas. All inclusive meals were good. Best meal was in the French restaurant. The World cafe which served most of the buffet style meals was quite decent as well. All in all, the vacation was redeemed, we probably wouldn’t back. I’m sure we overpaid for this because of the season and timing, so it was not great value.

Destination Wedding

Our stay at Dreams Tulum was very nice. The staff were excellent, they always made sure that you had whatever you needed, answered any questions and where very friendly. The explorer's club for the kids was awesome, they take excellent care of them and keep the entertained all day. The resort very clean and well maintained. The restaurants were pretty good, with no reservations needed which is nice because even on vacation things come up. The buffet was a little lacking in overall selection though, would have liked to have seen more local dishes and more variety day to day. Our room was great, a junior suite, it looked as though it had been recently updated, some of our friends rooms had not and there was renovations going on while we were there so maybe double check what you are getting. Our friends wedding was great, they got some excellent pictures and everything was taken care of by the staff. The beach was very well maintained and had plenty of seating everyday, there is a relatively small swimming area due to the coral in the water but it was never crowded. One thing that was a little miss leading was the WiFi, although available in the rooms there was an extra charge. As well we had better reception outside then in, which was great because we were able to Skype the entire wedding from our IPad to family in Newfounland that were unable to make it down. Overall we had a very nice stay, this is our second time we have stayed at a resort in the Dreams family and would recommend that you check them out.
