Sheraton Buganvilias Resort and Convention Center

After booking 2 months in advance, we arrive on site to have the hotel staff tell us we have no reservations. Even after presenting our confirmation number we were bothered several more times about the confirmation email. In addition, we had visitors that were stopped and told to leave or the police would be called. We later found out they could pay $30 per person to stay (which is outrageous) but were never presented with that option when they first came. The entire time we were there we were being hounded and harassed to listen to a timeshare presentation. After we refused several times and saw we would not be able to enjoy our vacation until we did it we gave in. Once we did we were then told we could use the gift they gave us because it was cheaper to do the daily promotion they were offering to everyone. They were actually running after people to harass them about the presentation. When asking the concierge for a more affordable breakfast option other than the outrageous $28 per person breakfast buffer we were told the prices are regulated and all prices in the town are the same. We found out that the Mayan Palace ( a 5 star resort) was offering $10 per person buffet. I am appalled that this could go on at a Sheraton hotel. I will never book with them again.

It was very relaxing because of low season time, but I was able to tell that it is a good place to stay if you like to explore to city's main attractions or dine out.

Staff was friendly and helpful; however on two differebt occasions we had to call to have the room cleaned. They missed us twice. The food was fair to medicore for the price. We ate most our meals out. The bldngs. and grounds were clean and well kept. Good location-overall ncie place, but nothing outstanding to write home about.

bad experience took so long for check in reservation not in the system then before you can go & relax to your room they let you go to the next counter to get a card for your outdoor towel then they will get you to attend timeshare meeting with them. food & mix drinks not good is not worth the all inclusive . wifi bad signal , timeshare agent annoying

The Sheraton Buganvilias Resort is close to downtown Puerto Vallarta, which makes it a perfect spot if you enjoy going to the many great restaurants. The room with an ocean view was great and there were plenty of available loungers by the pool. The breakfasts were great! We have stayed here before and will do so again.

Very nice place which is very close to the center of Puerto Vallarta. Clean, staff is very good. Two bad points. First, this place has live entertainment that is too loud every night. Since the rooms have glass walls facing the ocean, this constant racket lasting until wee hours of the morning make a good nights rest impossible. Second, the Wi-Fi in the room is free (that's good) , but you can take a stroll around the grounds while you are waiting for your email account to load. Essentially worthless. I do not plan to ever go back.

I had a wonderful expierence at the Sheraton. The hotel and grounds surrounding it are kept up to the best of standards. The staff was cordial and attentive. Will definitely be visiting again in the future.

I only stayed at the Sheraton for one night, but I had a fabulous time. The buffet is amazing and I got a massage that was super relaxing and I spent time by the pool and on the beach. My ocean view room was gorgeous. My only regret was that I got suckered into one of the timeshare sales pitches and of course it took longer than they promised and of course the sales people were a little pushy when I declined to buy a timeshare. Other than that, though, it was perfect--just don't let "free breakfast" entice you into doing the sales pitch.

It seems this hotel is getting more and more all inclusive which has changed the type of guests that are coming to the hotel. We were not all inclusive and it seem we were ignored.Will probably stay there again next year only because of its location.

I just stayed at the Sheraton for the 3rd time and for the price, location, amenities, and service it simply cannot be beat. When I travel, I prefer to stay close to a local neighborhood to get a true feel of what the destination is really like. However, I'm a poor sleeper and need a quiet room and a comfortable bed to get the most out of my vacation. The Sheraton is set back from the main road so there's no street noise in the rooms. Also, it's located right across the street from the local neighborhood El Centro. It's still within a 5 minute walk from the beginning of the Malecon so it provides close proximity to tourist attractions and local Mexican life. El Centro is a very safe neighborhood and I"ve walked through it at all hours of the day and night without incident. The buffets are excellent and the pool area is wonderful. The beach area is rocky, but this is true of most of the beach areas within Puerto Vallarta. Los Muertos beach and Conchas Chinas are just down the road so this isn't much of a problem.
