Try it you will like it!
When we arrived we were skeptical and worried about our choice but after our week was over we did not want to leave and would definately go back again. The rooms are not big and fancy, but they are clean! Who wants to stay in your room anyway! The staff and the people made the difference. Everyone was helpful and friendly! We enjoyed practicing our little knowledge of Spanish and they were very encouraging to our efforts! We went fishing in the bay and caught 3 yellowtail tuna and they were excited with us and cooked one for us to have for lunch! The food was good and they tried to have new things every day. The two restaurants on the property were a nice change and a chance to dress up a couple of nights. We did a city day and a snorkel day, played beach volleyball, soccer, and went running...all in all a relaxing good time.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
We found a small fishing boat that took us out for 2 1/2 hours fishing in the bay. It was just the right amount of time for kids. Avoid the middle man on the bay if possible.

Never Again
Food was absolutely terrible.. choice was very little. Next to hotel huge construction going on..causing very disturbing noise.. Hotel provided 2 full bed for couple. when asked to changed to king bed, was denied saying there is no other rooms available...but hotel seemed very empty. Club section rooms dont even have hair dryer (have to ask for it) and fridge.. this hotel has two sections.. Club and Grand.. its two totally separate hotel.. Club section is horrible. 1 star hotel.. Grand is OK..but not worth of total money spend. its cost extra $30 per night/person. DO the math.and choose nice 4-5 star hotel for such price

Great value
This was our first trip to Puerto Vallarta. We did many activities both at the resort and around the town - parasailing, snorkeling, rappelling, ziplining, waterfall climbing, horse and mule riding, and much more. Everything was so much fun; I have already started planning my next vacation. At the resort, we stayed in the club section. The buffet in this section had decent food, and the staff was excellent. Good experience there. The specialty dinners that may be reserved were very delicious with excellent presentation and service. Very recommended. All of the bars had excellent service and good selection of mixed drinks; however, only Corona for the beer selection. But again, the service was excellent. In the pool area, the activity crew always had something going on, which made for much fun. The only thing that I didn't like about the hotel was the uncomfortableness of the bed, the smallness of the tub, and the terrible water pressure in the shower. Other than that, everything was fantastic.

Shopping tip:

Don't fear the taxi drivers - every one that we had were pleasant even though their style of driving was a little bit insane (and scary).

My Best Friend's Wedding
Our experience at the hotel was something that we will remember forever. It was in a beautiful setting, perfect location, very nice people and a great pool / bar area that led to a lot of fun. The only reasons that we would not give this hotel a five-star rating was that the food was average for most of the meals (some were very, very good however) and the resort shut the pool and bars down a little too early.

The buffet-style lunch and dinner were really just O.K. You really need to set reservations and go to one of the three primary restaurants to get a very good meal.

OKay resort
This is a fine resort, not bad, but nothing that makes it stand out. The rooms are okay, but small. The food is okay. This resort is a great spring break resort. It gives you a place to sleep, 3 meals a day, and is close to enough to the clubs to be out every night.

Ok for the price
For the price it was okay. Just about what we expected. Our rooms were clean, but very noisy, and the beds were uncomfortable. Food was good, but typical of most all-inclusive resorts. Stay away from the hamburgers at the snack bar! Staff is friendly. One more thing, they give each room only 2 bottles of water, if you want more, you have to pay for them.

Great deal for the price
Stayed in the grand section. Was very peaceful. Club section definetly for the younger generation or partiers. Grand section reservations allowed you to eat & drink in club section areas for free. ATM in Grand section disbursed US dollars but is a rip off as I was charged a $70 service fee. Instructions were deceiving. In spite of the ATM I would certainly stay here again.

Money-saving tip:
Not Applicable
Take the city busses if you are comfortable riding them. Only .65 & will take you pretty much anywhere in the city. Caution though, some people would compare them to a roller coaster ride.

Wanna get treated like you dont matter??
The hotel was the worst part of the trip. [...] the buffet restaurant was almost the only place to eat at the hotel... and the food was very bad. I did not feel satisfied from eating there once. They also wouldnt let us check out a little later which i have never heard of at a hotel before.

There are people along the beach offering different water activites, also pirate ship dinner/shows, etc. that you can sign up for for a very decent price.
