Great place

The hotel was beautiful and clean. The view of the mountains was spectacular. Within walking distance to the marina with shopping and dining as well. Would return for sure. The only downside would be the vendors trying to make sales on the beach...if you declined to buy anything they do walk away without problems.

CasaMagna PV

This hotel was good for the price. It's nice, clean and airy, although it's a bit older and it shows. The staff is nice, but housekeeping was very inconsistent as they came at very different times each day and many times coincided with us getting ready, no big deal they just came back later. There was really no entertainment provided by the hotel that I saw except for beach volleyball and water aerobics. Beach was great as long as you don't mind saying no thank you to a street vendor every few minutes. Shops and restaurants in the hotel were overpriced but that's expected in every hotel. The pool was nice and big and there was plenty of chairs as long as you went around 9am. The hotel location was not the best. The Marina was nice to see once but not much entertainment there. Hotel drinks overpriced at 100 pesos with minimal alcohol. Food at poolside was good, esp. the shrimp ceviche. Waiters were also nice. Found that taking the bus (6.5 pesos) or cab (80 pesos) was worth for cheaper and better quality food and entertainment.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

Free wifi is not available. But if you spend at least 40 pesos at the deli you can ask for a free internet code that lasts an hour. Surprisingly, currency exchange was the best value right at the front deak than anywhere else. Taking the bus downtown is very easy and cheap. Just ask the doorman where to wait for the bus.

Highly recommended

This is my first time in Puerto Vallarta and Marriot CaseMagna definitely made a great impression. The staff is courteous and very friendly. On our stay the housekeeping will work around our schedule to clean our room. The pool is awesome and very clean. The only negative thing is I wish there was free wi-fi or cable internet access. Other than that I would definitely come back to this hotel again. Highly recommended.

If you want great authentic and inexpensive Mexican food, stay away from the Marina and go to Pitillil instead. Pitillil (PTL) is a nearby town just 10 minutes from Marriot by taxi. Not a lot of people speak english there but that makes it fun. Tacos Neto is highly recommended!

Awesome Family Vacation

Stayed at the Marriott CasaMaga many times and this time included makes for a memorable, relaxing holiday. I recommend this hotel for both families and couples and could never think of any place else to stay in Puerto Vallarta. The staff is always willing to please and the location is walking distance to the marina and town is a bus or taxi ride away.

Relaxing

This is a nice hotel located close to the marina. The beach lacks some charm due to the amount of rocks on this side of the beach. It was very nice to hang out by the pool or the ocean. Low pressure type of atomosphere.

A great hotel, a taxi cab ride away

The hotel and staff is great. It's a 16-18 dollar cab ride from the airport and an 8 dollar cab ride to the downtown area. The Marina is walking distance, but every other place seems to require some form of transportation. The hotel has a lot of amenities, so perhaps you may decide to not venture out at all- the beach is adjacent to the hotel. A great place overall to stay in PV.

Mexican Escape

The first room we had in the hotel had a clogged tub drain and they moved us immediately to a much nicer room - no questions asked. I have no complaints at all. The staff was wonderful, the location was great - walking distance to the marina and a short taxi trip downtown. I would definitely stay at the CasaMagna Marriott again.

Extraordinary venue

What was unique to our vacation experience was the level of friendliness demonstrated by the hotel staff...and it was authentic! From the bellboys to the wait staff, everyone seemed delighted to accommodate our every need. The location was also terrific...only caveat is beware the vendors on the beach. They're relentless. Go to the pool area if you want to avoid them.

Most of the restaurants along the marina are wonderful. Fresh fish, good Italian, etc. It's right across the street from the hotel, and it's a beautiful walk along the boardwalk in the evening.
