A Hidden Gem
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly and professionally greeted. We had been walking around a bit before we checked in and the iced hibiscus tea was the perfect touch. The entire hotel is immaculate and colorfully decorated. The availability of coffee and tea and biscuits from 7:00 am to 11:00 am was a nice touch and the coffee was great! We found everyone helpful and welcoming and would stay there again and refer our friends. It is a short walk to the boardwalk and very centrally located.

We loved the mango and other fruit stand a short walk from the hotel on Hidalgo heading towards the cathedral. Nice fresh fruit for less than $2.

Clean and perfectly located botique hotel
This was my second visit to the Hotel Catedral Vallarta. It is an extremely well-maintained, perfectly situated small botique hotel located near the Rio Cuale and Catedral Guadalupe in the downtown area of Puerto Vallarta. Surrounded by shops and restaurants, the hotel itself is an oasis of serenity. You can walk to the beach/boardwalk and Romantic Zone (more shops/restaurants) in about 10-12 minutes from the hotel. The amenities in the hotel are few but include interesting decor (Mexican art), comfortable beds, WI-FI, flat-screen cable TV, AC, in-room safe, and fresh coffee and cookies available each morning. The staff speaks some English and are very hospitable and welcoming. The only "issues" may be that there's no elevator in the hotel and there are a lot of steps to get to upper floors plus the fact that the only mirror in the room was in the bathroom. One other oddity: the washbasin in the bathroom is located INSIDE the shower. That was new to me. Overall, highly recommended. A great value.

Eat breakfast at Freddy Tucan's or Pancake House (or both!#. Both of these restaurants are about 6 blocks from the hotel #walking towards Romantic Zone). Each have varied menus that's sure to please. Food is delicious.

You are in the hearth of Vallarta, during the day you are few minutes from the beaches, at night all the main atractions are incredible close! restaurants, night clubs, the beautiful historic center, you can walk everywhere, you feel safe in many ways, in case you had too many drinks don't need to drive, no need of taxis! the hotel is fantastic!

Hotel Catedral is one of the best budget hotels in Puerto Vallarta
Being at Hotel Catedral was an enjoyable experience! This is the perfect place for anyone looking for a peaceful and friendly boutique style hotel to stay. The complimentary morning coffee sipped in the plant- filled , tiled patio was an experience itself. The room decoration was chic and unpretentious. Spotless and clean smelling.
