Families engage in the many water activities -- including two freshwater pools and children's pool -- available at Costa Club Punta Arena Hotel & Villas - All Inclusive. When parents need alone time, they turn to the kids' club, where children make crafts, play bingo and take dancing lessons for a fee. An indoor theater, live comedy show, gym and other conveniences round out the amenities.

Babysitting can also be arranged for an extra charge.

Costa Club Punta Arena Hotel & Villas - All Inclusive caters to family dining and date nights with an all-day buffet (El Forum Restaurant), a reservations-required, adults-only Italian restaurant (Los Caracoles restaurant) and an option for light fare (Cebiche & Tequila Snack Bar). Do NOT stay here!!

This was hands down the WORST trip we have ever taken! To start off, we paid for private, round-trip airport transfer at $150.00. We did not receive the private transfer from the airport to the hotel upon arrival, then, from the hotel to the airport we were crammed into a very small taxi, and the cost was only $9.00! So, we paid $150.00 for a total taxi price of $18.00!! Then, when we arrived at the hotel, the check-in service was terrible! When we got to our room, the entire room was completely out-dated; the mattresses were 3 inches thick and like sleeping on concrete; the pillows were bricks; the toilet was broken and we had to fix it every time we used it; we went without hot water for showers for 2 days before we realized we had to light the hot water furnace hanging in the back room ourselves; after 6 days of being there the maid still could not figure out that we needed 4 towels for 4 people; no washcloths were ever provided so we went and bought our own; hand towels were provided occasionally; the shower door had broken glass on one side, so it leaked all over the floor; the toilet leaked on the floor; the music blaring from 11 pm - 4 am reminded us of a terrorist tactic, making it impossible to sleep doubled with the awful beds; the food service ran out of room to seat everyone every night at dinner, and ran out of glasses and forks almost every seating; the plates, glasses, and silverware were never clean; the very small pools (2) were over-crowded and cloudy; most of the service workers were very rude and not helpful; the front desk gave out our room number to a timeshare pusher, who then stalked us throughout town, taking pictures of our family while we were in a taxi, and accosted us at a red light, scaring our children terribly! And to top it all off, on our last day there my daughter's camera was stolen! Overall, we would NEVER recommend this resort to ANYONE! But, we did find some restaurants and people outside of the resort very nice and friendly...and a BIG shout out to the folks at Los Caracoles Restaurant and Bar! [...] (owners) and the whole staff were amazing! They made our trip bearable...

Glad it was only for 1 night

Last minute overnight in Puerto Vallarta. Basic hotel, nothing special. Would not recommend, unless you just need a place to lay your head for the night.

Some Good/Some Bad

Overall we had a decent trip.. I traveled to the Costa Club with my boyfried and our expectations were not high. After reading reviews we knew Costa Club was not going to be a 5 star hotel. things I liked: location was good - $5.00 cab ride to Malecon Beach was nice - not super busy but people to hang out with and always had a chair rooms were okay - we ended up with a great room location after moving from where we started. This probably made the trip. We were on the 1st level by the pool so we could sit outside on the lawn chairs and hang out. The bar was close to our room so we spent many happy hours right on our patio. Food was decent - We could always find something to eat Drinks were good - I was fine with the beer (although my boyfriend wasn't pleased), mixed drinks were strong and always waiting.. tip early and you will have great service! Dislikes: Pool - was always full of kids and not a lot of supervision. It also worried us that they were peeing in the pool. Hours of restaurant - I wasn't crazy about the snack bar so would have loved the buffet to be open longer. Hours of Bar - closed at 10 which was a bit early. All in all a good vacation and for what we paid it meet my expectations.

Good Location - Outdated - Friendly, Helpful Staff

The staff were wonderful, polite, and helpful. We booked a 2 bedroom, with kitchenette. They do not have refrigerators.... Some have Stoves. Ours only had a sink. Definitely not what we expected. If you need those items - do not go here. Food was average. Location was an easy walk into downtown. Would only go back if we didn't want the kitchenette.

What You See Is What You Get

I read the reviews of other visitors before I left for Puerto Vallarta. I was more than pleasantly surprised. I was not expecting the traditional all-inclusive resort I had been to in other places, but I was not paying their prices either. I was able to discount the view of the semi-finished hotel between my hotel and the beach as there was nothing I could do about it. The service I experienced was exceptional and the staff must be commended for making my stay pleasant and enjoyable. During the week, the hotel was reasonably empty but on the weekends, starting Thursday, it began to fill up with many families from Jalisco and even Mexico City. Personally this was another opportunity to speak Spanish and I relished it. The food was mostly Mexican and not the typical all-inclusive buffet. I enjoyed this more authentic fare and who would not enjoy the unlimited beverages!!! The "shows" were interesting - not in the sense of passable - but genuinely interesting as I understood a fair amount of the banter between the host and the other guests. All in all, I believe that I got more than my money's worth. If you are looking for a high-end all-inclusive resort, go elsewhere. The Costa Club Punta Arena was what it advertised itself as and I was delighted to stay there.

great vacation for your money

This resort was great! The food was great, the drinks were OK, the room was clean but the bed was hard. If you want it to feel like you are at home.....stay home. If you want to feel like you are in Mexico this is the right place. It's a smaller resort, with the beach being a very short 1 minute path through the snack bar. The rooms are basic but very clean. We had no trouble getting them to fix anything that was not right. The location was great with only a 15 minute walk to the Malecon with all the shops and the night life. They have a nightly show that was ok, the only issue is the supper room opens at 7pm and the show is at 8pm. When they have the show at 8pm they turn out all the lights except the stage so it gets a bit difficult to see what your eating if you have come in late for supper. The only thing that we missed was having a fridge in the room. The big ugly abandoned building that is between this resort and the beach was just that, ugly! You could still see the ocean between and it wasn't as bad as we had read in a lot of reviews. It was just ugly. Would definately stay here again, the friends that we were with had stayed there before and would also stay there again.

Nothing Fancy, Great for the Price !

It is by far nothing fancy. However You Get what you pay for. All the other hotels near by we're almost 400 dollars a night. This is not a fancy hotel resort. You can't beat the price !!!
