Casa Velas Hotel Boutique - All Inclusive

This was our third time to Casa Velas and we're reluctant to stay anywhere else. The staff, food, location and amenities are excellent. But one of the reasons we chose Casa Velas the first time around was because it was for adults only. This year the new management decided to allow children. There weren't many, and they are still not allowed at the Beach Club, but when you're trying to escape the chaos of home and all the other typical resorts, it's a bit annoying to see a high chair, water wings, tiny voices and temper tantrums. We barely noticed the new cost-cutting measures the new management put in place, but the few things we were disappointed in is the fact that they cut the staff at Emiliano and the Beach Club; and reduced the menu offerings. On our last night, it felt like the staff forgot about us. They were so busy that they didn't have a chance to come back to check on our drinks, and it took them about 20 minutes to get our desserts out. We still have very little to complain about at Casa Velas, and unless the conditions deteriorate drastically (or they start full-blown kids' programs, menus, etc.), we'll still recommend it and still keep going back. Guests new to Casa Velas will feel the same way, and won't notice the changes. It truly is an exceptional resort.

This is not on the beach,but because of that it is so nice and quiet.It is on a golf course.They shuttle you whenever you want ,to their own private beach club about one minute away.The beach club has a pool and a beach that is only for the 80 rooms at Casa Velas.Perfect!No kids.Great food served there too.We did not do the all inclusive as we like to go into town five minutes away and 6 dollars by taxi,for a variety of dining experiences,which worked out great.We ate at the hotel too, ala cart a couple of times.

Best service, especially housekeeping. Ideal place for couples, very safe and clean hotel with friendly staff. Pablo, Rene, and Fredy were the best. Will definitely revisit.

So I returned, Jan 2-6, 2012 and once again it was par excellence. The food at Emiliano Restaurant and beach Club incredible, the accomodations fantastic and the service and amenities just out of this world. This is a place where Everyone is SPECIAL and all are treated like Royalty....You become a part of a family, a pampering home away from home place you wish to return to and share with everyone you know. This is the place, the ultimate experience, spa, golf, food, drinks, service, atmosphere, ambiance...Simply the Best of the Best!!! Do not let the "not on beach" dissuade you, it is on lovely grounds overlooking golf course and you can be shuttled by private A/C van to Private, exclusive beach club 3 minutes away....Best service anywhere with the best restaurant Emiliano in PV....Go once and you WILL go back again and again. ( adults only...:))

The place is a solid 4 stars with little to pick on. It's small quiet but beware that it is NOT on the beach and there is a shuttle that takes you there to a tiny beach club.

We are very experienced travelers and admitted "food snobs", but could not have been happier with our stay. We were very reluctant to do an all-inclusive after a horrible experience in Cancun, but much to our surprise, we had an amazing time. The food and drinks were amazing. EVERYTHING on the menu at both restaurants was first class, and Benny made us great drinks all week! The service was impressive and the facilities were great. The fitness center and spa were both great. Only draw back is no direct beach access. The short drive to the Beach House is not a big deal, but the beach itself is a little rocky and the water currents are strong so watch out. We decided to spend most of our time their hanging out at the pool and eating sushi! The highlight of the trip was our "Romantic Dinner" package. Chef Francisco and Ecker put together a special menu for us, and the food and service were exquisite. All in all one of the best weeks of relaxation we've ever had!

If you wannna just relax and be taking care of. This is the right place. Not much things to do except the usual, the place is really luxuous and most of it the staff is just great, smiling and very serious. I really enjoy it!

Service: Excellent; the entire staff really wants to make sure that you are comfortable. Food: We had the "all-inclusive" package. The food at the restaurant here (Emiliano's which is the only restaurant on the property) is just OK. So is the case with other restaurants of their sister properties which are part of "all-inclusive" except for Grand Velas. Food at Grand Velas was really good (BTW, we just loved Grand Velas as a hotel and would surely plan to stay at Grand Velas the next time we visit PV; it's a new hotel and so probably so not well known). And you need reservation for dinner at all these restaurants which was not so cool as you need to plan your afternoons / evenings accordingly which is something I hate to do when on vacation. They also ask you to dress up for dinner which is something I did not like...again..it's vacation, time to relax and let go... Rooms: Very clean; no issues with the room; the mattress was a bit hard but that was not too much of an issue for both of us. Room service was prompt and accurate. TV was an old CRT (not even flat screen). Location: It is not on the beach although they have their own beach club to which they have free shuttle service. The beach club is not too far away from the hotel and is pretty good; beach club has a restaurant as well but I being me would prefer to stay on a beachfront property. This was one of the personal lessons learned from this trip. The hotel is near the marina, around 2 miles from the airport but is about 15 mins drive from Malecon and downtown where all the action (shopping/nightlife) is. If you want to be closer to the action, pick one of the hotels near downtown area (also known as Malecon). This is an adults only hotel so it was pretty quiet and peaceful.

Excellent overall service, very friendly staff, worth it for a relaxing time.

Personalized first class service. Excellent amenities. Good food and extras. I will definitely be back.
