Best Little Hotel in Old Mexico!!

The hotel was in the old town. About three short blocks to the beach. You are surrounded by restaurants, shops, the beautiful Cathedral de Guadalupe, clubs and bars and near Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton's old residence. The front desk staff and the cleaning ladies were always smiling and tell you "Hola, buenos dias", every morning! This is a basic hotel, nothing fancy. Bed, bathroom, t.v. desk and a safe, too. Totally well kept. Colorful rooms with character and artwork by local artists. CLEAN PRESSED SHEETS EVERYDAY!! The only thing was, the noise outside. Sightseeing tourist, music in the streets, children playing and traffic. I knew about this from other reviews and brought along my earplugs=no problem. Fun to just sit on the terrace and people-watch. The friendly and petite front desk clerk, Lorena (who speaks English too) will ensure that you will have a pleasant experience! She'll even tell you what bus you need to take to get anywhere in town. If you stay here, you will be in THE BEST little hotel in old town Puerto Vallarta! And then you'll know why Liz Taylor and Richard Burton were so happy here!!

The outside rooms with balconies are so nice to be in the mornings and watch the Puerto Vallartans as well as all the Canadians, Americans and Europeans who have made Puerto Vallarta their home. Everyone who lives here seems so happy!!

Great Value

Great location. Room very clean. Bed small. Can be noisy. No elevator (if it is important). Lot of good food places near the hotel. It is a great value for a budget minded traveler.

Extra pay

After staying 1 night I returned back to the hotel during the second day and was told that I had only purchased 1 night. Lucky that I had printed out my reservation and when I showed them that everything was fine. Sounds like they were trying to take advantage of me.

Historic Puerto Vallarta

It almost feels like stepping back in time. The view from my third floor, exterior facing room looked down on the historic architecture all around. The building itself is old, but has been maintained beautifully and converted into a gallery of local artists. It was a real treat. One thing to keep in mind is that there is no elevator. I didn't mind the hike up to the third floor, but making two trips to carry my luggage in and out might detour some travelers.
