For those of you who love action, fresh air and excitement, Viva Wyndham Resorts is the perfect place with a whole selection of sports to choose from. Non-motorized sports including Windsurfing, Kayaking, Sailing, Boogie boards, Snorkeling equipment, Introductory dive lessons, Water polo, Water aerobics, Tennis (floodlight included), Bicycling, Volleyball, Weight room, Aerobics, Stretching , Bocce ball on the beach, Table tennis, Archery (at Viva Wyndham Maya)and Climbing wall (at Viva Wyndham Maya) are all available or cross the boundaries between two worlds, submerging into the peace, tranquility and indescribable beauty of the underwater kingdom with Viva Wyndham Diving. If you havent been diving before, you can take one of our beginners courses and be beneath the waves in no time at all or maybe you have experienced diving and would like to improve your PADI rating. - The Family Room is two connecting rooms and now when guests book the room, kids 17 years of age and younger are permitted to stay in the connecting room allowing parents to be next to their children while still enjoying some privacy. Additionally, the Family Rooms now feature WII and XBOX games included in the all-inclusive price. There is a minimum occupancy of 2 adults and 2 kids in order to book these rooms.

Very close to the cruise ship port shopping. We enjoyed the bikes. Very disappointed in the snorkeling-there isn't any at the resort. We did like having a sister resort to have meals/entertainment. None of the other guests spoke English or Spanish. We felt isolated.

Excellent hotel, so-so beach
We, two adults and a teenage boy, just came back from a week long vacation at Viva Wyndham Azteca. I loved everything about the hotel but beach. I love long clean beaches with some corals for snorkeling but the beach at Viva was narrow and deep so if you want to be under a palapa, it's far away from the water and the beach strip that belongs to the hotel was small. There was some trash and seaweeds in the water, I guess because this location is pretty close to Playa del Carmen or maybe because of all the cruise ships going to Cozumel which is directly across. I've been to four different hotels in the Riviera Maya and this beach was the worst. The hotel itself was wonderful, impeccably clean with spacious rooms and the best service ever. The food wasn't the best nor was it the worst for all-inclusive. The set up of the hotel was good although there were 4-6 oceanfront rooms only and you couldn't see the beach from the pool which by the way was too small but we came there for the beach. The drinks were great if you knew what to ask for. They have brand name liquor but you have to ask for it specifically. The best of all were the staff! Nobody would walk by without saying something nice to you always with a smile. All our requests, such as change of rooms (we didn't like our first room because of the connecting door to the other room you could hear your neighbors) or our old mattress which was replaced immediately. We just loved the diversity of guests at the hotel, we met very nice people from all over Europe and Canada although there were very few Americans. The animacion team was excellent with never ending activities throughout the day and pretty good shows at night. All in all, we had a great time and would go to this hotel again in the future if the price were right.

Hidden Worlds is the best and very affordable way to experience zip lines, cenotes, beautiful caves and the world's first zip line roller coaster "Avatar". It was our third trip to Hidden Worlds and I would go there again without doubt!

Family trip
Awesome trip. Great hotel. Very friendly staff. White powder sand. Inside Playacar gated community. Good food, both buffet and restaurants. Kids had a wonderful time. Approximately 1 mile from downtown Playa del Carmen. Would definitely return.

Our family vacation 2012
Staff was really nice and helpful. The room allways had a nice final touch. The food was average, good options on buffet but very similar every day, if you are staying more than 5 days, you'll memorize their menu. We really enjoyed the " tacos al pastor". Their dinner reservation are worth it, but they are very limited, they need to extend their room capacity to make shure everyone takes advantage of them.

The Party Rock Crew
Awesome summer vacation!
20 of us stayed at this resort. 8 of us have stayed here three other times. We keep coming back because of the location, staff, and comfort. The resort is located where you can enjoy privacy, yet close enough to the shopping area. All the comforts you are looking for in an ideal vacation is right in the resort. Sight-seeing and shopping would be the only reason to leave. Last but not least is the staff. We have been fortunate to meet such hard working and cheerful people who go the extra mile to keep us happy. We obviously have our favorites, but overall they were all superb! We were told that they will be renovating and upgrading their rooms and facilities this coming winter. We can't wait to come back and see their improvements

Take advantage of the theme restaurants. the key is to book them as soon as you check in to ensure availability. Although tips are already included, a dollar or two to your bartender, waiter, and room attendant goes a long ways and is greatly appreciated. You"ll see! Lastly, smile and be friendly. They like that too!

The food is too greasy especially at the snack area. The buffet was average maybe reconsider not frying too much but maybe grilling the fish and chicken and beef. My respect for the staff they are hard working people that make yu feel at home. Are willing to go out of thier way for you.

Instead of you going with the diffrent tour companies you are able to take a air-conditined bus called ADO in town right off the main strip of shopping across from Mc Donalds and pay fourteen dollars average for adults and visit all the parks such as ruins and xcaret same thing for airport shuttle we payed $90us to expensive just one way and then took the bus going back only paid $13.00 per person

Great family resort!!!!
The beach is fantastic, you couldn't ask for anything better. The staff was amazing. The front desk manager named Elisa was extremely accomodating. The animation staff was great especially the bold male lead dancer whose name I believe is "Pietro". The food was good for the price my only complaint was that there was no place to get a rib-eye steak. Overall it was a great vacation!!!
