Encanto Corto Maltes Downtown Ocean Front Condo - Hotel - Beach Front

I booked this condo for a few reasons: Its location, the amount of beds/sleeping arrangments, and free breakfast. Only one of those aminenties were met. The location was good. It was right by the beach and in the heart of the nightlife. The sleeping arrangmets were NOT as advertised. I booked a room with 1 king bed and two double beds. When we got to the room we found that there was 1 double bed in the master bedroom and 1 double bed in the other bedroom. I went down to the front desk and they played stupid saying there was nothing they could do and said they didn't have any rooms like that. Fortuanatly the couch was a pull out bed so we were able to make due. Now onto the breakfast. When I booked thru this site there was a note saying "Breakfast included" what was missing from this statment was that Breakfast was included only 1 morning and only if you listen to one of the staff try to solicit you to either buy a timeshare or buy discounted activities. I would call all of this false advertizing and a classic bait and switch. Shame on you Condo people and this site. A couple of added notes: The fridge in the condo was in disrepair, there were screws and a light bulb just sitting on the shelves, very sloppy. Also the shower mount was not installed properly. You couldn't mount the shower head into the mount in a position that would allow you to take a comfterable shower. Hopefully these details will be updated thru this sites website.

The location of the hotel is great, right on the beach and a block away from the main avenue for all of your eating and shopping options. If you are looking for a nice place close to the action I would definitely recommend this hotel. The staff could have been a bit friendlier but were fine and the service was slow at times. Overall we had a good time and the accomodations were just what we were looking for

My wife and I stayed with another couple after spending a week in Riviera Maya on a company outing. We decided to stay for a couple of extra days and check out Playa Del Carmen. The condo was beautiful and very clean when we arrived. The location could not have been better. On the beach and 100 ft. to 5th ave. We were only a 10 minute walk to Walmart where we filled up on groceries. We were able to use the facilities at the resort next door and the pool was amazing. My only complaint was that there were weird sounds in the walls that kept me up at night. Our friends had the same issue. Our bed made a lot of noise also, but those were the only issues. We were on the first floor and I think the noises came from the buildings water pumps, etc so you will probably not encounter this if you're on the second floor or above. We read a lot about the sound of the club keeping you up all night but the club was not in the building as some reviews would lead you to believe. You could hear it a little in the back bedroom, but it wasn't bad. The condo and location could not have been better. I would definately come back.

Description is very inaccurate and it is unfair to customers. The hotel room description discrepancies; 1. The room had only 2 double beds TOTAL, not a KING bed and 2 twins. 2. The room DID NOT have WIFI, the listing says the rooms have WIFI 3. The hotel did not honor the "Gold Privileges Card. Encanto Privileges Card" offer or the other specials listed as part of the hotel booking. In fact, when we asked about it, they claimed to know nothing about a privileges card whatsoever even though this is listed prominently on the hotel's own website. 3 front desk staff and a manager said they have never heard of a privileges card. 4. The hotel did NOT provide transportation from the airport as stated, the description of the room states that the room rate includes this service. None of the 'specials' listed under terms and conditions of the hotel description were offered and the hotel denied even knowing about what we were talking about. Even when we showed them the printed out information from our reservation they still acted dumbfounded We asked about changing rooms and they said they had no other rooms available. We made do with the room we had but it did not match the description of the reservation at all. One bedroom and one bathroom was very moldy and some dirty hand print on the walls. We had to keep the room closed up at night due to the noise outside. It is effectively quiet with the sliders closed but this made the moldy air worse. Shower fixtures were broken, many of the furnishings were worn and bureau handles broken off etc. The room was large and 'nice' otherwise but the pictures are misleading. It is possible we just got the worst room in the place. The location and beach are really good but you are in the center of town so it's very busy. We loved the downstairs bar/restaurant Zenzi, great live music, food, and staff.

We travel to Playa regularly and this was our third trip this year. I rarely write reviews unless we were truly impressed and Corto Maltes exceeded our expectations. LOCATION: This condo is on the beach in the central part of town within walking distance to almost everything and this my friend cannot be beat. The area is a "busy" part of the beach and is full of positive energy. "Busy" beach does not mean wall to wall people; merely, restaurants and beach clubs are close and you do not have the isolated beach to yourself. AMENITIES: Our condo (#303) was well appointed, the kitchen had everything and every appliance needed for cooking a multi-course meal and the roof-top terrace had its own shower and bathroom. Each condo is individually owned so decor/amenities will vary. Ours was spectacular. NEGATIVES: First of all, when we leave the United States, we leave our "expectations" at the border; after all, we are in Mexico. Mexico has made great strides in the last decade but their infrastructure is still not as developed as the US. This condo had problems with water pressure. We would have water for 2 minutes then no water for 2 minutes then water for 2 minutes etc... Long, luxurious showers were out of the question. Also, the dive shops unload their oxygen tanks at 7:30 AM and the clanking/ringing of the tanks was like an alarm clock for those who were still sleeping. Fortunately, I awaken for an early run each morning and this was not a bother for me. SUMMARY: Minus the water pressure, this was almost the perfect beach condo. I very highly recommend this place.

The Encanto Corto Maltes was great. The staff was wonderful to us, they took care of anything we wanted. The setting was so beautiful. It was a great location, convenient to great restaurants and shopping. I loved that there was a restaurant and beach bar on site. The live music was great. This was about my 12th time to Playa. I would definitely recommend this condo/hotel.
