Luxury resort inspired by Thai-Balinese style in Playa del Carmen
The Aldea Thai Resort and Residences is located 45 minutes from Cancun's International Airport in the heart of downtown Playa del Carmen. tried to see the positive
beware
last year i stayed at this hotel and loved it. i was very excited to go back but was very disappointed. supposedly the ownership changed and was not good. i booked the same room as last year but did not get the same this year very wrong. the first room they put me in leaked in the bathroom all night about 2 inches on the floor and didn't fix. the next room smelled like mold. the final room i was stuck with was missing a shower curtain and many other wrong things. i hate writing bad things and usually never do but felt i really needed to vent since no one at the hotel managing level cared. very disappointed because i wanted to go back to this location..

Great place to stay
This place was great for the price. It is within walking distance of the beach (2 min), 5th ave shopping and dining (5 min). The hotel was quiet and the employees were very helpful. Most importantly the AC in the room was awesome! We will definitely stay here again.

Nice and comfortable in a great location
We were looking for a high quality hotel that was not an all-inclusive resort and the Aldea Thai was the perfect fit. The room quality was nice, staff was helpful and the overall quality of the hotel was great. It's a short walk to all the restaurants & shops on fifth avenue and it's just steps away from the beach.

Great location! Awesome Beach!
Great place to stay! The rooms were nice and quiet, we had a junior suite and the kitchen was nice and big. Breakfast daily at Kool Beach. The beach was nice and wide. Kool Beach club is part of the Alder Thai, Lots of chairs with umbrella's. 5th street was up around the corner, lot's of restaurant's and shopping.

Catch the Ultra Mar, for a day trip to Cozumel. The ferry ride is $34 round trip per person. 15 minute walk down 5th street to the ferry. We rented a car and drove around the island.

Long weekend in Playa
Amazing hotel in a newly developed area
This hotel is amazing! It is brand new, fabulous thai design, right near the beach and had a great price. It is a good 20 min walk from the center of town but I would stay here again in a heart beat. The staff is really helpful and the free WIFI was great. My only recommendation would be to take taxi if you have luggage or come from the bus station like we did. This area is the new, upcoming spot with lots of things to do - restaurants, apts, condos, and a Starbucks close by. ;) If you don't mind a little extra walking (compared to other spots)then I would stay here. Personally we thought it was well worth the price!

Thai hotel is located right next to one of the most popular spots on the beach - Mamita's Beach Club. If you like the beach you will like this area. (It is about 10-15 mins away from the major shopping area).

Perfect location. Just steps away
Perfect location. Just steps away from Kool Beach and Mamitas beach club. The hotel is modern, with complete amenities in the room. Kitchen appliances, fridge, microwave, blender, toaster etc. Just a couple blocks away from 5th avenue where all the restaurants and shops are located. Conceirge was very helpful and friendly. There are restaurants and a convenience store below the resort. I'd definitely stay here again when I return to Playa!

Great hotel - Great location.
This is a very trendy hotel at a great location. Playa 'Mamitas' is walking distance from it and 24hr convenience stores are also close to it.
