EXCELLENT!

I have been to Puerto Vallarta several times, and this by far was the best hotel I have stayed in. The staff is amazing and treat you with GREAT customer service. I was amazed and how clean everything was! As soon as you walk in they deliver a great experience. I will book with them again and again!

Excellent value for your money

Clearly the top of the Riu line and worth the extra cost. Nice room, good food, less crowded, better service, quieter and more polite guests. Quick service at the swim up bar. Avoid the "cheapest" Riu down the beach, it smells, is overcrowded, and has that "Motel 6" feel.

Just great but there are some things to improve

I had a great time there, but I would make some improvements...there is not any snack bar next to the pool; you need to go to the sport bar that is next to the lobby to get some snaks. They should have a pool for adults ONLY. The food is good but could be better. The internet access is not free, you need to pay after 90 minutes, if you log in and log out after 5 minutes it does not let you access the wireless after 24 hours.

Overall good experience

My girlfriend and I had an overall good trip to the RIU Palace. I would have to say that the overall cleanliness of the place was excellent! We observed staff constantly scrubbing floors both in the rooms and common areas....had to be one of the cleanest hotels we've ever been to. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Of the 5 restaurants on site 4 of them were better than average- which is good for an all inclusive hotel. On the downside- the fitness center and sports bar were way below average and didn't event look like they belonged in the same hotel compared to all of the other area. Overall good trip, great hotel and location. More of a couples resort- not many kids

Wonderful and pampering hotel

Everything is included and of great quality Staff looked a bit miserable at times... but I found that was understandable, since customers were rude as well. Location was a bit far (about 15mins) away from Puerto Vallarta Center which was about $450 pesos roundtrip. Had a great view and fun activities in which they gave out free massages or spa treatments to winners. Had a great time overall and would definitely go again... it was worth it !!!!!

Dining tip: In Hotel

There are buffets included and about 4 a la carte restaurants in the hotel for which you need to have a reservation to dine there. As soon as you make your reservation to stay at the hotel. Call them and make a reservation at the a la carte restaurants you want to eat at.

Top. Notch.

From the second you step into the Riu Palace Pacifico lobby you instantly know that your vacation is going to be great. We stayed 5 nights at the Riu and spent the majority of the time at the hotel relaxing on the beach. I was concerned the beach area would be overcrowded and dirty, but that wasn't the case at all. No problem finding chairs and moving them out to a comfortable area in the sun. Most of the kids and parents seemed to stay around the pool area where the Riu staff were hosting games and water activities. "Super Mario" always seemed to keep them entertained. Why go to Mexico and sit around the pool - when you can relax next to the Pacific ocean on the beach? The rooms are kept in top-notch shape and very clean. The À la carte restaurants offer the best dining experience you'll ever have, in contrast to the buffet restaurants you will visit for breakfast, lunch, and casual dinner. There are a few things hotels in Mexico just don't get right: ketchup, maple syrup, and coffee. Aside from that minor gripe about the buffet restaurants, the food was pretty good. But to top it off - the best part about the Riu is the nightly "themed" shows they put on. From Elvis to Mamma Mia, they rock the house. I wasn't quite ready for the insane dancing and performance dished out every night by the staff. Would definitely go back to this resort and recommend it to friends.

So glad we went into Puerto Vallarta on Saturday. The market shopping was fun - bargaining is an acquired art! The Boardwalk was cool with the statues and awesome sand art. Food options are endless. We had a great day adventure!
