Good Value
You need to bring the exact description of your room with you so they can read what you're suppose to get. I print it in Spanish and then hope for the best. Nice place, good location, great Bellmen. Good time!

Next Golden Zone hotel to fold?
I am sure my ratings seem inconsistent. Not all the hotels fault. I don't like the über tourist Golden Zone per se. Only stayed there for convenience sake, since I play tennis in the area. While this hotel is fairly dramatic architecturally, but it suffers from.. 1. Really bad tourist economy. 2. The idea that tourist will be appalled if they see an insect. This place is bombed with insecticides. The smell follows you. The rooms have that numbing cleanser smell that is just as bad. The staff is at best bored.

Doesn't get much better than this!
This was our third stay at the Royal Villas. It just keeps getting better and better. The staff all recognize us now and were eager to greet us. We plan to return many, many times if the service continues to impress. One small criticism: There was a private wedding reception in the hotel grounds on the Saturday evening. This party interfered with the entertainment that the hotel had already provided for the "paying guests" in the bar area. They had to cancel the live music entertainment in the bar at 9.00pm in order to accomodate the wedding party and the hotel guests were NOT invited to the wedding. The wedding party went on until after 3.00am and the music could be heard all over the hotel! It didn't bother me, but it was the talk of the breakfast buffet on the Sunday morning after.

Family Vacation
We stayed for our first time at Royal Villas Resort in Mazatlan. The location is really good. Near lots of restaurants & outdoor shops for shopping. The resort is not fancy, but clean. We enjoyed happy hour (4-5 pm & 8-9 pm) every day. We never ate at the resort, except for snacks, pizza, nachos, etc. by the pool area. The door guys out front are very helpful for information and very friendly. All the staff was very friendly!! We rented 2-Jr. Suites with our group of 7. Have grown children (20-30) with us. Worked out nicely. We checked out a 1 & 2 bdrm. VERY NICE!! Next time we will upgrade to at least a one bedroom. No activities, besides Bingo at the pool. No beach area set up for hotel. Kinda had to figure out your own. Did have plastic chairs & umbrellas you could set up if wanted. We stayed on the side of resort where Gus Gus Restaurant is located. NEVER had an issue with noise. It was cool while there, so always had patio door shut.

nice hotel
This was my second stay at this hotel in as many months. Check in was a breeze, check out even easier. The all inclusive package is well worth the money, although the constant signing for every single thing that I ordered became very tedious after a while. They say it's for inventory purposes, but it's still aggravating to be chased around for signatures. Service is great, the food delicious, great location, excellent location, nuff said!

Good Choice if your seeking a laid back vacation
This hotel is a bit older than most but has been upgraded and they are constantly working on it little by little. This Hotel has the best beach front in Mazatlan and the pool is next to the beach so you can watch the waves while sun bathing. The loungers al have cushions on them and no other hotel I seen had cushions. The poole is always warm and not to deep. Like i said you don't have to lie on the beach to enjoy it from this hotel. The bell Captian Renaldo and Bell Boys Rafael and Arturio cannot be beat. The most helpful bell boys I ever met.

Nice Hotel
We stayed at this hotel for 4 days as all inclusive guests. The hotel for the most part is nice and well kept, the room we stayed in was a little "worn" , but for the money we paid, it was certainly tolerable. The waiters, front desk and maids were all very polite and attentive and overall it was a very positive experience. My only negative experience was at check in. We arrived slightly early (approx 1.30pm), we were given a room immediately, but they would not give us our all inclusive colored wrist bracelets until 3.00pm. I mean, come on, how much "free food and drinks" could we possibly consume in 1.5 hours? It kinda spoilt the holiday mood a little bit but , I guess the hotel has rules about this. Other than the check-in thing, everything else about the AI was great and well worth the money that we paid. I would definitely use this hotel again.

Pretty Good
The room itself was great, but the service left something to be desired. It felt like they were trying to nickel and dime us every step of the way. The ladies in tour desk harassed us every time we went by trying to get us to buy their tours. They even scolded us for going with another company for a tour that they didn't even offer.

Excellent customer service
The hotel was really nice, the staff was fabulous (everyone was helpful, polite & spoke English), the pool & beach were excellent, the food at the restaurant was good & the location was great (walking distance to shops, restaurants & night life). We really enjoyed our stay & would recommend the hotel to our friends. The temperature was wonderful, everyday was around 78 degrees.
