Great all inclusive resort!
The Riu Santa Fe was amazing! The hotel offers entertainment shows every night, the staff was friendly, and the resort was large. I highly recommend and plan to revisit the Riu Santa Fe for my next Cabo visit.

Fun Resort, friendly staff.
Just spent March break at the Rio Santa Fe and had a great week. The food is good with a good variety to choose from. The entertainment staff around the pool are fun and try to get everyone involved in the games and activities. The rooms are nice, but the beds are hard and the pillows were so small and too soft. not a place to go if you likle swimming in the ocean as the water is too rough with a very strong undertow, though the beaches and area are beautiful. Check out "Lovers Beach" by one of the water taxis on the beach, great opportunity for some nice pictures. Got to see some whales, sealions and fish. Go early in thw morning to avoid a busy beach and better photos of you on a deserted beach. The Rio Palace is right next door, and we heard from others there that its very quiet there, not much happening around their pool and that you don't get much more value for the extra $ you pay to stay there. But if you want to avoid younger people having a good time, choose the Palace. Downtown Cabo is about 8 minutes by Taxi and its only $3US person each way which isn't bad. There is some good shopping and restuarents/bars there. Would definately stay there again.

Nothing Special AT ALL
Watered down drinks with water that isn't safe to drink. Terrible booze, horrible food, odd smell. Nothing is comfortable, the only part that isn't completely horrible is its location to the marina.

Cheap
False advertising on other restaurants within hotel. Not able to get in for dinner. We were there for 5 nights and tried every morning to make reservations and they stated no reservations available. We thought this was false representation especially when we visited at the particular seating times and there were many empty tables.... The buffet was fair.... Wi-Fi was down 4 out of 5 days we were there and it was handled by off site server; hence no help from any of the hotel staff.. When asked to speak with manager of hotel he was always out for 2-3 hours. This was stated to us through out our entire stay. It was very obvious the manager had no intention of handling guests with any concerns... very disappointing.

RIU Santa Fe
The Santa Fe RIU is ok for a weekend getaway. Nothing to fancy about it. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. The pools are nice. The food and entertainment are mediocre at best. I would recommend the taco stand they put out in the evening. The "free" wifi was not dependable and only would work (if it was up) in the lobby. Our group ended up going to downtown CABO for the nightlife since the nightclub onsite was not that happening. (Cabo Wabo and Mandala Club were wonderful). For daytime outings I would recommend the Mango Deck. One downer was the shuttle (booked through this package). On our return to the airport it was very unnerving when they arrived 30 minutes late. We made it in time for the flight, but still was stressful. On the plus side the weather in Cabo this time of year is perfect.(80-85)

Great starting point
Cabo is a great vacation area for great activities and I could not have found a better better. Great jumping off point for the whole peninsula. Nice to have good food available any time you get hungry. We rented a car and it was well worth it to take the short trips into town. It was fun and felt safe driving anywhere. Great variety of adventures to take, but the best was the ultra-light plane flight. Just fantastic! Not at all scary.

Fun with Friends
Our room had a very strong musty smell coming from the air conditioner vent. We had to leave the door open and ceiling fan going 24/7. Our room overlooked where the workers got supplies for the resort next door and was very noisy starting about 4 am. We had to wash all our clothes to get the musty smell out when we got home. The staff tried to spray the room but it would only last for about 2-3 hours. Whale watching was great!! Saw lots and the tour staff was very fun and knowledgeable. We stayed at the same hotel 4 years ago and nothing has changed. Same evening shows and same meals. Coffee was terrible. We should have requested a different room but didn't want the hassle of moving and wanted to be by our friends.

Listen to all bad reviews, they are true!
Let's start with check in: it took us 45 mins to check in. We stood in line while 2 girls tried to check everyone in while 6 staff members were walking around with nothing to do. It was terrible. The rooms: The smell in the rooms was horrible. It was unbelievable. The sheets, the towels, everything in the room smelled really bad it was unbearable to get use to and to stay in the room for long periods of time. Other hotel guests: There was a lot of young hotel guests that were really drunk most of the time. Banging on random doors late at night, screaming down the halls, vomiting in the hall ways, it was a crazy sight to watch. The food: Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! We did not eat once at the restaurant. The food looked unsafe to eat as well as unappetizing.
