Excellent Vacation Destination

My children and I were so pleased with this hotel! We stayed at the Melia Cabo Real last year and really liked it, but the location and the quality of this hotel is so much better! The food is excellent, the activities are great (they make it really fun to lounge at the pool all day long), they even had a show with great singing and dancing every evening. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated and everything was in excellent condition. The beds were a bit uncomfortable, but that is probably pretty standard for hotel rooms. We are planning to come back again next year!

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

We had so much fun walking along the beach and meeting all the local merchants selling their beautiful jewelry, pottery, dresses, hats, bags, and other crafts. The prices are excellent (bring small bills as they do not make change for $USD) and their goods will be treasured reminders of your trip when you return home!

Great family getaway!

Hotel is well maintained and beautiful. Stayed at building 7 with gorgeous ocean view. Food is average meaning there is something for everyone there. Thought the Steakhouse restaurant was pretty good but didn't care for Asian restaurant. Excellent tacos and burritos outside the main Buffett at night. We transferred over to Riu Palace to compare difference and really missed the outstanding service from Santa Fe. Will definitely come back to Santa Fe. Only complaint was cold weather at night unrelated to hotel.

Enjoyed dining at tortoro restaurant the most since it was in building 7. The main buffet and a la carte restaurants are closer to building 2. Didn't mind the long walk but windy and cold at night. Need jacket.

Family Friendly...Spotless Property

We were impressed with the cleanliness of the entire property. We stayed at the Riu the first week of April 2013- the property was sold out, but you would have never guessed it. It is very well managed and they pay attention to cleanliness. WeI would definitely stay there again if travel ever brings us back to Cabo- and I wouldn't hesitate to stay in the Riu chain anywhere else in Mexico.

Shopping tip: Long walk from hotel

The cab into town is $3/person ( $12 minimum) each way- but I would say it is definitely worth paying..the walk along the beac is not an easy one, and puts yoou through a public beach. Bartering in town was fun and safe.

Good value, too many drunks

This hotel is a nice place that shouldn't allow the amount of college kids that it does. I know that you are in business to obviously make money, but at what cost? There were too many indicents of public intoxication to the point that it made a lot of other travelers upset and disgusted. Even the hotel staff was getting quite sick of it. That siad, the food was decnt, the pool areas (minus the morons) were nicely kept, and the evening's entertainment was really good. The rooms are not quiet, and we had to move once due to the noise levels at various times.

Four Perfect Days

This was our fourth stay. The hotel staff is courteous and friendly. There were plenty of activities to keep us busy and time to read, sun, swim and drink. We'll be back again.

Our airport concierge was the best his name is Alejandro Velediaz Oritz when you go to the RIU Santa Fe look for him .. He looked after all our activities and any changes we needed to make, It was a great holiday for our family of 5.

Great Family Vacation

We love Riu and the Riu Sante Fe did not disappoint. The facilities, pools and food were all top notch and the staff could not be friendlier or more cheerful. Our room was clean, comfortable and well maintained. Food was very good - the main restaurant/buffet food was much better then the set menu restaurants. Bring your own wine if you want any quality wine to drink with your meals.
