The real scoop
The physical plant was very nice and the staff kept it extremely clean. The food was good, but far from great. We did not go hungry but several things we tried were subpar. The hotel requires you to make reservations for the sit down restaurants. Without a reservation, you eat at the buffet. We ate at two of the four sit down restaurants as we kept missing out on the available reservations. The asian restaurant was terrible. We heard the same thing from other quests but thought we'd try it ourselves. it was a mistake. The steak house was pretty good. It was the best meal we had during our stay. I would not pay for this meal in the states, but for a steak in mexico it was nice. The hotel did not have any sort of boats to use, so you have to stay at the pool or hang around the grounds, or of course head to other places and pay for services. they gladly set up taxis for you, $8 to Costco or Walmart, $10 to town $60 to the airport. And as don't expect much from the entertainment. I've seen beter shows by highschool students, but several of the other guests seemed to have fun. I would return to Santa Fe as we had a great time.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
We went diving with Manta Scuba ($85) and they were very nice and professional. We did hear there were other dive shops who offered the same dives, for $60, so shop around. I did however trust our dive masters with their skills, knowlegde and our safety.

Great Location/View of Arch
This hotel had a great location right on the beach with a beautiful view of the famous Arch. Only a few miles from downtown Cabo. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Anytime we called the front desk for something they were right on top of it. Food and drinks were good, the dinner buffet did get a little old after the first few days. Breakfast buffet was the best. Don't recommend the Steakhouse, but the Mexican was very good. The room was clean and spacious, though I would ask for a pool view next time. Great value for the money, would stay here again.

Flee market in downtown Cabo had some great pottery/silver bowls and platters. You can bargain with the locals and they will give you a pretty good price on this (if you know Spanish they will give you an even better price). Two or three mile cab ride from Riu Santa Fee ($10 each way).

My review of RIU Santa Fe - All Inclusive
The RIU Santa Fe in Cabo San Lucas was great. The rooms were large and very clean, with a balcony overlooking the garden. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The food was fantastic and plenty of it at all hours of the day or night. I will definately refer the RIU to family and friends. I WILL BE BACK!

Nice Resort
It was a nice place, clean environment, good customer service... Two complaints: Food was not so great (but the buffet was so big we were able to find at least one dish we liked) and mosquitoe problem (I killed at least three mosquitoes in the room daily)... But we are pretty flexible and laid back pple so it did not bother us too much...Other than that, great room with bar fully stocked, double sinks (We didn't have to share!), Nice pool areas, beautiful beach.

Great time in Cabo @ the Riu
Back from Cabo...WOW! Riu Sante Fe was awesome and I really cannot complain but each to there own on how they feel. Our group that was 7 that ended up. I used them for my airport to hotel service there great, quick fast on the way back they put me in an escalade and zipped me back it took only 40 minutes.$68 US round trip. The Rooms: I had a King Bed Ocean View, real nice staff is amazing to clean it even if you get sand all over the floor, but watch out for when you take a shower its VERY slippery almost everyone took a fall.

Riu Santa Fe: Cabo San Lucas
What a fabulous resort and location! This is one of the largest RIU resorts I've stayed at with 7 buildings plus large restaurant areas, 6 pools (!) and 3 swim up bars. With an all inclusive resort, what more could you ask for? It is a mere 2km to downtown Cabo by cab (about $10US) or bus ($2US). Highly recommended for singles, couples or families alike. Great food options, fun entertainment and a great pool scene. The beach isn't particularly swimmable, but the main beach isn't too far from the resort if that is a priority for you.

visit cabo wabo, but be careful taking the water taxi, it drops you off back at the hotel in about 4 feet of water so be prepared to get wet. Cabs are best option only $10 per load so bring friends

Very well maintained and friendly
The RIU Santa Fe was very compfortable and the room was large and comfortable. The bathroom had two sinks with very adequate vanity area. There was plenty of closet space but only 1 suitcase stand. The location was great. The area of the resort we stayed in was close the the ocean. The biggest downfall of the resort was that it was very spread out. For anyone who has difficutly walking you would want to make sure you were in one of the set of suites that was closer to the main Looby area.
