Really relaxing
We really relaxed in perfect weather at the RIU. A little rowdy b/c it was spring break for college kids so I had to call security once b/c of noise, but I guess I was young once. Store way overpriced. Breakfast was great, lunch so so - needed to be a little more of a variety of food at lunch and dinner times. The place was immaculately clean and the staff were wonderful. Overall a great time was had by me and my husband.

RIU Sante Fe was great!
This was our first vacation to Cabo San Lucas and we will definitely go back! RIU Sante Fe was great - very clean, attentive staff, fun guests and plenty of pools and beach to enjoy. The buffets were good - enjoyed the Asian and Italian restaurants but the Steak restaurant was only OK. But, having been at an all-inclusive before it met our expectations.

Snorkel trip through Sun Rider at the Marina in town was great - the crew made the trip so much fun and the lunch was so good! Use the city buses when possible to get into town - they only cost $1 each way.

30th Wedding Anniversary trip
Cabo San Lucas is breathtakingly beautiful. When you arrive at the airport and clear customs, skip the counters they lure you to and walk directly outside to catch your transport. Otherwise they hard sell timeshare meetings to you. We wasted 30 mins. there. We chose Riu because we loved the Riu in Cancun. The Riu resorts are situated next to each other but there is no reciprocity to pools and restaurants. We loved the casual open air atmosphere right away. We asked for an upgrade due to our 30th anniversary and they declined. The pool area is very lovely but I must say the lounge chairs are very cheap plastic and many are broken. The staff are all beyond friendly and accommodating. They kept us entertained and laughing. The shows are great, esp. the Michael Jackson and the Ideal Couple. From what I heard from many, skip the restaurants and stick with the buffet. The main buffet just off the lobby has tons of stations and something for everyone. Rooms are nicely done with granite baths, patios. But... it was very loud at night from party people. Not so many spring breakers but 30-somethings. You get 90 mins. daily of free Wifi per device but that is lobby restricted. For $15/day you can enjoy throughout the hotel. We loved the walkways around the resort. Everything is kept immaculately clean, kind of reminded us of Disney. We would definitely return. We also loved downtown Cabo and the marina area wtih flea market. It was alot of fun. Took a cab from the hotel and it was $12/each way.

Family Friendly...Spotless Property
We were impressed with the cleanliness of the entire property. We stayed at the Riu the first week of April 2013- the property was sold out, but you would have never guessed it. It is very well managed and they pay attention to cleanliness. WeI would definitely stay there again if travel ever brings us back to Cabo- and I wouldn't hesitate to stay in the Riu chain anywhere else in Mexico.

Shopping tip:
Long walk from hotel
The cab into town is $3/person ( $12 minimum) each way- but I would say it is definitely worth paying..the walk along the beac is not an easy one, and puts yoou through a public beach. Bartering in town was fun and safe.

Excellent Couple Experience
The facilities were exceptionally clean, we saw workers cleaning a 3 in the morning (around the clock). The food was fabulous, the restaurants and the Buffets had amazing food and the service made us feel like royalty. The drinks were plentiful and extremely well made. There was always a stocked refrigerator complete with beer, soda, and water. We had a splendid time. We have been on cruises, traveled to other resorts, been on unplanned trips; however, the do not compare to the RIU, we will go back again.

Awesome!!!
Stayed there with my wife for 3 nights 4 days during spring break and had a blast. No reason why to leave the hotel it basically has everything that you need and some. Food was great; staff was kind and friendly, 5 pools and plenty of bars and restaurants. The only upset is that there is no internet in the rooms, you have to use the free internet in a 90min continuous block every 24hrs and the wifi is located in the lobby. We had a bit trouble finding available seats by the pool that is located in front of the beach, but that’s the price we paid for going there during spring break, packed with spring breakers. Plus right there on the beach you can grab a water taxi that will take you to the arch and or marina and rent jet skis. I will definitely go back!!

A fun place
A nice fun place. The food and drink was OK, always something to eat and drink. It was sprink break for the college kids so had to deal with noise throughout the day and night. Leave the kids at home this time of year! It's a 3/4 star resort if looking for an up grade stay next door at the RIU Palace.

Good value, too many drunks
This hotel is a nice place that shouldn't allow the amount of college kids that it does. I know that you are in business to obviously make money, but at what cost? There were too many indicents of public intoxication to the point that it made a lot of other travelers upset and disgusted. Even the hotel staff was getting quite sick of it. That siad, the food was decnt, the pool areas (minus the morons) were nicely kept, and the evening's entertainment was really good. The rooms are not quiet, and we had to move once due to the noise levels at various times.
