Secluded island paradise with beachfront location on Isla Mujeres
The Ixchel Beach Resort is near Costa Occidental de Isla Mujeres National Park on the island of Isla Mujeres. The relaxing respite has an outdoor pool, complimentary wireless Internet access, a concierge desk and wedding services as well as tour and ticket assistance on site. The guest rooms feature televisions, in-room safes and bathrooms with showers. Penthouse suites have a rooftop Jacuzzi with panoramic views of Playa Norte and the turquoise-hued sea channel. An on-site gym, lounge and laundry facility are on hand as is a lounge and restaurant.

- The hotel is located Located just 50 minutes north of Cancun Airport, 20 minutes by ferry from Puerto Juarez, or 30 minutes by ferry from Cancun hotel zone. Exit Cancun International Airport and take Luis Donaldo Colosio Blvd. towards city of Cancun. Turn right onto Jose Lopez Portillo Blvd. towards Puerto Juarez and Punta Sam. Once you are at Puerto Juarez you can take an express boat. They leave from Puerto Juarez every 30 minutes and take 25 minutes. 5:00 am to 12:30 am. Approximate driving time to Puerto Juarez (Passenger Ferry) is 30 minutes and distance is 25.5 Km (15.85 miles).

There is a reason why we come back to this place! The staff is awesome, and location is the best! Beach is totally the best! 2 block from all the food and activity!

Short drive from hotel
Garrafon Park - has changed their prices - now you have to pay $5 each time you zipline and $3 for reef tax to snorkel - plus the $60 admission fee. This year we had to go get the drinks! Not worth it.

Great hotel on a great island!
We've been to Mexico many times... Cancun, Mazatlan, Mexico City, Cozumel, San Miguel, and more. I was really impressed with this island. Fewer cars and more scooters (and golf carts)... easy to walk everywhere... great food and service. The hotel - was outstanding. It's a condo-tel... and the rooms are quite spacious and nice. The pools are wonderful and the staff is quite remarkable. Go for a penthouse... the views are amazing.

Wonderful
Ixchel is actually a condo building run as a hotel, so the room decorations will vary according to the owner's preferences. Unbeatable location on Playa Norte. Small pool, but very clean. Great service. I highly recommend upgrading to a one-bedroom suite with balcony for an additional $40 per night.

Hidden and Welcoming
Swam, sunned, swam w/ whale sharks, conversed with people who live there, walked everywhere, threw rice at a wedding pary and shook hands w/ the groom, did not see any fast-food stores/restaurants (great!), did not encounter rude people anywhere, travel to and from was pleasantly uneventful; a terrific vacation.

Great hotel
Great vacation. The hotel was amazing. Beach chairs and unmbrellas always available. We had no problems with the disco next door. It was very quiet. The beach was wonderful. The rooms were kept clean and they were very attentive whenever we needed anything.

Great staff and location!
The front desk staff was so helpful and spoke excellent English. Our room was just okay. It wasn't quite clean enough when we got there, the A/C was not as adjustable as it appeared (it could only be off or on), there was only one small waste basket, and only one mirror. But the purified water jug, fridge, and microwave were nice bonuses. The shared door between us and the next door room was right next to their TV and phone, so that was loud at times. Still, I never felt truly comfortable in the room. It felt cold and hard to me. Despite my complaints, I'd recommend it. The location and staff more than make up for any sour bits.

Ixchel phase 1
Friendly staff. Inexpensive meals for breakfast and lunch at pool-side bar "Como-No" $7-11 US per person. Wide range of restaurants within 2-5 blocks. Golf cart rental 45-55 USD per day adequate to explore all the island. The ability to rent a one bedroom suite(living room, kitchenette and bedroom} rather than just a room made the trip more enjoyable

Great Hotel!
