Beach living in glamorous bungalows on Cozumel
The luxurious all-inclusive Allegro Cozumel resort is on one of Cozumel’s most beautiful beaches and is minutes from one of the world’s largest coral reefs, making it a diver’s dream. The three pools have designated roles -- one for kids, one for group activities and the third for adults. Families will love the kid’s waterpark and supervised activities, which include scuba lessons and windsurfing.
Highlights
  • Located on San Francisco Beach, minutes from Palancar Reef; Pro Dive Mexico Center on site
  • Scuba classes and full schedule of sports and activities
  • Kids waterpark with slides, splash fountain and supervised activities for little ones
  • Four restaurants and five bars on site
  • Lighted tennis courts for night play
Rooms
Guests of the Allegro Cozumel stay in recently renovated, two-story Polynesian style bungalows with thatched roofs, yellow sun-colored walls, and a balcony or terrace complete with hammock. Dark wood furniture provides sophisticated accents. Grander suites and accessible rooms also are available. Room amenities include climate control and ceiling fans, cable TV, telephone, bathtub and shower, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron, ironing board and safety deposit box. Cribs and extra beds are available on request.
Recreation
Scheduled activities allow families to play tennis, beach volley ball, sail or snorkel together. Or they may freestyle their fun at the kid’s waterpark or as live pieces on the on-site giant chess board. Snorkeling and fishing trips to Palancar Reef and along the coast are led by Pro Dive Mexico Center; scuba lessons also are available. A theater hosts shows nightly.

Great resort for the $$

Had a great time traveling around the island in a rental car. Only takes a day and plenty of stops to make while on your way. Also, go to town and shop after 4:00 pm because the prices drop after the all the ships leave port. The resort is a great place to hang out on the beach all day. Be sure to get there early so you can have the best spot on the white sandy beach because the beach fills up quickly after breakfast!

Great Vacation

The vacation itself was great! We went during an offpeak time which didn't bother us at all, in fact we chose this time to avoid the groups. So on the other hand there was some drawbacks. We arrived on a Sunday as most of the people were leaving so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. We did notice that Sunday through about Thursday the food might not been as good as the weekend approaching. By the time Thursday evening arrived the food seemed to be of better quality, the service seemed to be better and the staff was friendly. The rooms are average rooms, nothing to really brag about. We didn't let these problems bother us too much, we were there for the sight-seeing and adventures. They did have all kinds of activities for the people to enjoy there at the resort and then offered water sports also. We are planning on going back again sometime soon but will probably wait till after peak season.

Allegro Cozumel

The resort was beautiful and the staff amazingly friendly. The breakfast buffet was our favorite. The lunch buffet had burgers and hot dogs, nachos, pizza, as well as authentic Mexican foods. It was okay. The dinners were pretty good.

Barely above a budget hotel

The exterior of the resorts Polynesian style buildings are appealing. The inside however, is another story. The interior is very small and dated but clean, with the hardest bed I have ever slept on. The walls are also very thin and you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbors are saying and DOING. The layout of the resort is very inconvenient to guests. There are only 2 places to eat and the buffet in general is truely just terrible, even the "fresh fruit" is sub par. The bars do not open until 10am ish and that in itself is not an issue. It just so happens that the bar is the only place to get water, pop, juice or anyother form of liquid. So If you get up at 7am there is two hours before you can have anything to drink. Unless, you dont mind walking to the entrance of the resort, to the second floor, across a large sitting area where you will find a small stand with weak coffee and hot tea! Our family has traveled to many all inclusive resorts and this one meets the very BASIC needs of guests. The beaches are nice and most of the staff friendly. However, they do put tip cups out and expect to be tipped. We will not stay at this resort again. The island is clean and friendly. We rented our own car and felt comfortable driving around the island. This is a true budget resort!
