Great first experience to Cancun!

The staff was very friendly, the hotel was extremely clean. Waiter service was better with tipping, in regards to quicker service. They don't get much from the all-inclusive tip so it is nice to tip them extra. The grounds were well groomed and beautiful! Overall, we were VERY satisfied and happy with our stay!

Wonderful stay at The Royal Sands

I just returned from a six night stay at The Royal Sands Resort, and I absolutely loved it. I went with my friend (we are both single females in our 30's#, and we both found it to be perfectly relaxing. I had been a bit nervous after reading reviews of people complaining about the All Inclusive program, stating that it is too limiting, or a hassle with giving the room key for service -- and I have to disagree. I have stayed at All Inclusive resorts in Cancun before -- and while this is the first time I have had to give my key for a receipt, it did not burden me or infringe on the amazing time we had. I think people who complain about such things are just looking for something to complain about. Honestly, you are on vacation -- is waiting two minutes for a key and a receipt going to ruin your day? As for the food, it all ranged from quite good to delicious, especially the carnitas at Hacienda #off site Mexican restaurant# and the fish sandwich #we got it in room service twice#. The staff were wonderful! We especially loved the staff at the Char Hut #phase two pool bar#. They work their tails off #especially Moises, traveling back and forth from the beach to the pool at a quick clip!#. The beach is absolutely beautiful. As for reserving the palapas -- yes -- if you want a prime seat, you do need to get down there before or around 7:00 am. I didn't do the "saving" game. I would sit down there on my chair and read until I went to breakfast around 8:30, but always returned around 9:15. The two days we sat by the pool, we went down to the beach around 1:00 and several palapas had opened up. As for the divide between the time share owners and All Inclusive guests, I will say I did notice that we got some glances from those without the all inclusive bracelets #I don't even know that I would qualify them as "dirty looks"#, and I did overhear some groups complaining about the program, but I also understand where they are coming from -- change can be difficult. While we were there during a week when many colleges had Spring Break, there were only a few #maybe 4-5# groups of "Spring Breakers" who seemed intent on partying hard. The demographic was a mix of retirees, families with children, childless couples, and some single groups or pairs. The resort itself was spotless and well maintained. My friend and I both had such a fantastic, relaxing week, that we would definitely return. TIP: My friend and I each brought $100 in single dollar bills to give as tips throughout our stay, and we tipped $1-$4 per drink or food order for beach or poolside service #more for sit down service#.

Amazing Second Honeymoon

I couldn't have asked for anything else. The all inclusive package was perfect. The food and drinks were amazing, and the staff was top notch. It felt like the entire resort staff was waiting only on us. The restaurants, pool areas, outdoor bars, were clean and the beach area was very well maintained. There were a lot of families there with their young children. I will definetly be heading back with the kids!

I want to go back!!

The hotel was beautiful! The staff were amazing! I loved everything about our stay at The Royal Sands. There were two pools to choose from...one was a bit quieter and the other pool had all the activities so depending on how you felt that day, you could pick which side you wanted to hang out on. The staff always had smiles on their faces and were ALWAYS willing to accommodate any wishes we had. I felt pampered all the time. The rooms were spacious. We rented both A and B for the four of us and loved the concept. Our teens were on one side with the living room in the middle. It offered us our own privacy yet, we met in the middle to plan our day. The beach...what a beach!! Hands down, a fabulous place to spend with family, friends or as a couple!!

This resort is top notch

We just returned from a week stay at The Royal Sands Resort. Everything was perfect. The location is perfect in the middle of the hotel zone. The food was outstanding with many choices to choose from. The drinks were yummy as well. The waiters work their tails off. Gabriel from Sidelines bar was especially good. The maid service came to our room twice a day. The suites are huge, with 2 bedrooms, bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen, 2 huge walk in closets and the balcony are very nice. Our view was amazing as we looked out on the pool and the ocean. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious place to stay.

Great vacation

We had a great time. The rooms are big and clean, service and staff are very good, beach and pool are wonderful, and the food is great, (you can also eat off the resort). We also needed a medical doctor and there is one on the premises. She came to our room since i hurt my leg and could not walk, and was very thorough and good, for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend this resort.

Great place. Wonderful vacation.

I give this place 4 stars instead of 5 simply because my kids (ages 14 and 10) found that there weren't enough activities for them and they became slightly bored at times. Also, while the food was quite good, the variety of the offerings seemed to lack a bit. Were it not for those two simple things I would have given 5 stars. I think if adults who preferred to just hang by the pool were going here, it would be 5 stars. I would and will definitely go back again. Far better than most places and the rooms are great and huge (two bedroom!!)

Be sure to check out the Captain's Cove restaurant which is INCLUDED with the the all-inclusive package. It is off-site, but they provide transportation there and back. WELL WORTH the effort as it somewhat solved the limited food offerings issue we had back at the hotel and the food here was great!

Relaxing Week

Overall, very nice & clean, clean, clean ! The only negative was the mattress in 5741 needs to be changed out. Service was great, food was tasty, drinks were good, food at the CharHut/Pool Bar was our favorite. Beach is awesome & clean with security. We would return...good value at this price point.
