Secluded and spectacular, The Royal Islander is a haven of tranquility and relaxation, an exclusive hideaway offering spacious villa accommodation and five-star services.

The smallest resort in the Royal Resorts collection, The Royal Islander has an intimate ambiance, a friendly family feeling that makes it a truly special place to be. A privileged location on the highest point of Cancun island gives guests incredible views of the Caribbean, the jungle and the Nichupte lagoon. Tropical flowering shrubs attract hummingbirds, orioles and other colorful birds to the gardens.

One registered guest in each villa must be at least 25 years of age and willing to accept responsibility for the actions of all villa occupants.

Guests staying on Saturday night may need to change units. The hotel will work to avoid this scenario, but when necessary, management will work directly with guests to streamline this process.

Spend the morning on the beach or by the pool, play tennis or join in the daily activities lined up for you. Sign up for an hour's sail boating on the lagoon or try your hand at pottery painting, and of course you can also enjoy the facilities at the neighboring Royal Caribbean and Royal Mayan.

Excellent location- awesome beach

We stayed at the Royal Islander for the last day of our trip back to Canada. It was an awesome hotel, with an explendid beach and good food too. We would have liked to stay longer but this was the end of 9 day vacation and it was time to go home. I would recommend this resort.

Slow and Unfriendly staff

We were asked to change room during our stay. The staff was extremely slow and unfriendly when we change our room. We understood there were a lot ppl waiting in line for changing rooms. But why do we need to change room in the first place??

The place is okay.

The resort is right off the beach, so for people who just want to stay at the beach it is a fine place. The Wi-Fi service is bad,and you cannot get Wi-Fi in the room. You may also be asked to change your room during your stay due to the fact that this place is a mainly time-share place.

Very good place to enjoy

Stayed at the hotel for 17 days and had to change rooms twice because of the time share owners that came in. The internet speed is very slow with bad connection. To use the gym you have to pay a daily or weekly fee, not cool. Other than that, the place is not bad.

Changing rooms??

Beautiful place, but both couples had to change rooms after the first night, and we were only staying two nights! No prior indication that this is a "Time Share" facility, and you are renting a "Time shared" room. Since their time shares run from Saturday thru Friday, and we were staying Friday and Saturday night, this overlapped their schedule. Hard to believe that they couldn't find a vacant time share for those two nights. When it came time to move, the family that was in the room that we were to move to, had not moved out. Terrible scheduling, in this day of computers. If you want to stay at a "Royal" facility, don't schedule your stay to overlap the "Time Share" sequence.

Beautiful beach

The beach is beautiful. The beds are okay, not the most comfortable, a little hard. The staff was friendly and very helpful throughout the property, excellent service. Room was clean. I would return.
