Disappointing girls weekend.
The room smelled of mildew and felt damp, the door could not be locked from inside, no hot water in the shower. The food was below average. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Okay for the price.
I will start out by saying that the food was GREAT! All of the onsite restaurants were great. What wasn't the best was that we had to call the desk to ask for towels every day. One day we had to ask for blankets as we had no blanket - just sheets on evening. Also, no one contacted us to give us our "welcome" package until the next day at 5pm. At that time I found out that we could get 10% off spa services; shopping at the hotel, etc. I had a massage the first night and they would not put the 10% discount on the massage even though I charged it to our room. Last, I asked for a late checkout, they were going to make us pay $98.00 for 2 extra hours. I informed them of the above, they let us do a 1pm checkout but we had to turn in our bracelets at 12 Noon. So we could not get any food. The restaurants did not open until 12:30pm. Another family informed me that they checked out at 1130 a.m., and were told to keep their bracelets on until they were leaving for the airport at 2pm. That way they could eat at the restaurants, etc. until their departure. Very inconsistent! And we were supposed to get a sunset cruise through our package for 4 - free, never happened. So I guess you get what you pay for.

If you eat early, you won't have long lines. Also there is one or two of the onsite restaurants that you have to make reservations for and we were not told about that.

worst hotel.ever.
from.d.moment.we arrived we felt unwelcomed. D security outside was not helpful in directions. Den d worst part was d lobby. Checking in took over an hour. Cause the girl was new and didnt know a lot. Den wen another man finally came to help he was rude. The women at the back which were clearly higher authority like managers looked stuck up. They smiled with no one. But while we were checking in a couple was complaining dat something happened to their daughter nd d staff was responsible. Den another lady went to complain that a belonging of hers went missing! Yes I got a chance to hear all of dis because I took.forever to check in. While I was checking in my children went to walk around nd see nd a security was questioning dem why they dont have on all inclusive bands yet. My children werent asking for food or anything they were just exploring. D manner in which he asked were so rude.. the only staff dat was friendly was d hard working ones in d kitchen. But the food was terrible. Only breakfast was.manageable. the idea about and all inclusive is not for this hotel becaz they want to charge for eveything including internet. Den while checking out. This lady Judit was sooo rude.. insisted we got three cards for towels nd we only got one. Nd she just wrinkled her face wenj she answered us. So she got upset nd roughly cut off our bands almost cutting our hands!.. nd wen we told her they have bad service she said well dats the way it is.. in my opinion. There is no employee incentive at dis hotel. Because they have no interest in treating the guests good! Thank goodness we only stayed for one night!. But never again!

Oasis Palm
The Oasis Palm is connected to Oasis Palm Beach. I have stayed at many nice hotels in Cancun but I would never stay at Oasis Palm again. The desk staff were very rude and not accommodating at all when we tried to upgrade to Oasis Palm Beach. We were not allowed to use any of the amenities at Oasis Palm Beach, but they could use ours. The Oasis Palm was old and smelled musty. The rooms needed a lot of updating. There is no hot tub at this resort. On the upside, the pool was nice and the waiters were excellent in the three restaurants we were able to access.

You decide...
I stayed in this hotel with my wife from 2/8/2013 to 2/16/2013. We have mixed feelings about this hotel... the room was ok size, with an old tube TV with some channels in English (with a bad hum on the audio). Our room's A/C was dripping water all over the floor after a few days and when maintenance came to "fix" it, all they did was turn it off (which meant warm room when we got back and the dripping started again after awhile. The bathroom was very small with some nasty tile and just a shower with a plastic curtain. For all-inclusive you have to pay extra for a lot of things: 1-Room safe is small and costs extra (I didn't use it - just locked stuff inside my suitcases) 2-Room fridge costs extra (just to get one) and anything you consume in the room (even water) will cost you extra 3-LOCAL calls cost $1 per connection and have to be done by operator 4-International calls to US/Canada cost $4 PER MINUTE. 5-The wi-fi internet costs are: $5 for 1 hour, $7 for 12 hours, $10 for 24 hours, $30 for 5 days. 6-You have to pay extra for some restaurants that are part of the adjacent hotel - I believe $15 to $25 per guest/per meal in those restaurants. The internet was not "fast" but was decent most of the time - it sometimes would have no service for a few minutes but it IS available in most areas of the hotel including beach/pool and rooms. You may get poor reception in some spots. The food is ok, but you get tired of the same stuff after awhile. Their ice-cream is pretty much frozen water with taste and color. The pool is clean despite people saying there were leaves in the water (it's impossible to keep leaves from falling in the water - there was hardly any I noticed). The beach is good for people with kids: no waves and very shallow - the water is very clean and there are some rocks and a reasonable amount of algae (which is a sign of cleanliness despite of people's complaints) but also plenty of clear water to look at a few fishes etc. The staff at the front desk can be rude sometimes - I arrived with my hotel confirmation code in hands and they were complaining saying that I needed to have it printed out to give it to them on check-in (this was not mentioned anywhere, so I only printed my vouchers which clearly said should be turned in when used - which in turn I only needed the code). The waiters at restaurants are usually nice and helpful, though sometimes they can get overwhelmed if there is a lot of people. A big complaint is that people would leave their towels on the pool/beach chairs to keep them 'reserved' and leave for hours and hours without allowing others to use them (and there is a limited number of chairs). I did use the late-checkout service - for an extra $15 (per person) I was allowed to stay and eat in the hotel after checkout until my transportation came to take us to the airport. You also can visit and spend the day at a few other hotels from the same chain by getting a "day pass" from your hotel - this is free and allows you to eat/drink at the other hotels without extra cost. Most of the time you don't even need to get the day pass as the wrist bands are basically the same color and you don't get stopped by anyone asking for the day pass. I had friends staying in another hotel (of same chain) and they would come over with certain ease and eat/drink normally without getting a day pass. If all you want to do is sit by the pool and relax, this may be a good option since you won't have to worry about food and drinks. It is relatively close to downtown and other places (quick bus ride). If you are planning to do a lot of excursions or activities outside the hotel I would suggest looking at different options as you will not get your money's worth from the "all-inclusive" deal.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
If you're not familiar with the location, you may want to take a cab to certain locations (i.e. hard rock cafe, 'la isla' mall, etc), but you should consider buses on the way back (or to places you know) within the hotel zone - there's only one road thru it and it is hard to get lost. You can ask the driver when you hop on to let you know where you're going but limit yourself to saying the name of where you want to go - keep in mind they can at times forget to warn you. The bus is safe and cheap (less than $1 dollar) and there are plenty of them.

blood stains on bed sheets
We waited 30 mins at the check in counter for a room to get ready. The sheets , duvet and pillow case had blood stains. They changed it upon request with sheets that had other stains. They were washed but still had stains. Sea food restaurant had the worst food ever. The buffets were edible though. Shower didn't work properly. Most staff spoke poor English. Charged for WiFi and local calls.

low cost week long getaway
This hotel is exactly what you pay for. We got a pretty smoking deal and don't feel bad even for a second that it wasn't worth it. The food was good but I would have liked more variety. The circus show was awesome! The staff was always very attentive and polite. Be nice to the staff, they deserve it! Poolside and beach activities were fun. I'd say that if you want a larger resort with more amenities, open your wallet a little further. If you want an awesome latin type Mexican experience, this is the place for you.
