ME Cancun - All Inclusive - Adults Oriented

I'm 27 and married, but I generally have single friends and party a lot at home. I went to ME with my wife only. It was an okay time, but it would have been much better with friends. I've done the all-inclusive thing a couple times now, and I've noticed some trends. They generally are in no rush to serve you drinks or take your order (even if you tip)... makes sense for a place that wants to make money. For the extra cost, I probably could have just taken a taxi to the Wal-Mart in Cancun and bought plenty of booze and food, and I would have saved about $300. I'd just have to do enough research to find a condo/hotel that has good enough amenities to satisfy the entertainment value. Taxi from the ME would be about $12 USD (04/26/13). Just don't let the concierge book it... go out on the street and grab it yourself. The reason for the high rating was because the hotel itself really is one of the best ones on the beach. I walked up and down the beach and didn't see one hotel that matched in visual aesthetics and number of people out and about having fun.

Hotel was nice but food was not that nothing special. We stayed on the weekend but from Thursday to Sunday and our room was on the 3rd floor just above the lounge/club. I understand it's weekend but the music went on until almost 4am and the bass was so loud and we couldn't sleep at all for whole entire time we were there. We even requested to change the room but because of the weddings that they have and no rooms were available and clerk were so rude. Also bartenders were just ignoring us and serving the people who came after us. I was with my mother and we were not young as the other guests are but they should be nice to the guests. I will never go back to that hotel!! I do not recommend to any elderly people because even it's adult only place, there were only 21 and up but younger than 30. Also the door for the guest rooms were to thin and kids singing after midnight in the corridor and shouting and banging the door in the middle of the night!!! I do not deserve paying this much money to come for my vacation at this hotel. Biggest mistake to stay there. Exterior was pretty bad, walls were peeling... the cabana mattress was ripped. Our drinks didn't come for more than 30 minutes even though after we asked for our drinks again. There are much better hotels there than ME.

These guys have a well thought-out processes for making feel as a King. The service was outstanding from begining to end, I don't have any complaints as far as the service. There were only a few things that bothered me 1. My room had the cable box for the tv in an incovenient location so make sure you ask for a room where this is located conveiently 2. There was some noise that filtered thorugh the door at night.

My daughter and I enjoyed our relaxing vacation. We purchased a "level" package (10th floor ocean view suite - beautiful room, awesome view, loved the comfy bed and rain shower) and enjoyed the perks (fast check in/check out, Bali bed, movie night, massages, 24/7 no-charge room service, dinner on the beach). No rafts, but the pools were chilly so we spent most of our time on the beach (must reserve lounge chairs fairly early with a towel to get one - but with the bright sunrise, we were always up and ready to go before other guests) and getting near the adult infinity pool was impossible without additional money. Our personal concierge, Jose, was super friendly and helpful in making sure our stay was comfortable and fun. We were never approached about a timeshare. The food was good-we enjoyed everything we ordered, the drinks good but plain, no extra effort with fancy glasses or fresh fruit garnishes. Our favorite restaurant was the Water Grill. Great location (within walking distance of shopping/restaurants) and the beach/view/water was gorgeous. Service was excellent, sometimes a tad slow but we were never in a rush to begin with and we did tip. The only thing missing was a balcony (only available with the limited number of $$$$ suites). I would definitely recommend and stay here again (but also love the Royal in Cancun and Playa del Carmen, Excellence in Riviera Maya and would like to try Live Aqua). Oh and the music wasn't really an issue for us around the resort or in our room. If we had a longer stay, we would have enjoyed more spa services and more siteseeing/tours/snorkeling/etc. but for a mini-vacation with an emphasis on relaxing, this was the perfect spot. We did get ripped off with transportation from the airport to the resort. It's hurried, rushed, crowded and someone is quick to help with luggage for a tip. It's confusing and fast. We were told that ME didn't make arrangements (even though we confirmed with the resort the day before). We also weren't on this travel company's transport list (which I knew because I did not pay in advance since the hotel supplies a shuttle). He even supposedly dialed the resort and let me speak to someone who said we'd have to take a cab. A $60 cab ride with taxes/fees. becomes $80 not including a tip. When we arrived at our check in, they confirmed there was a private shuttle waiting for us...it just happened all so fast and without speaking fluent Spanish, I guess we were easy targets. Just hang on tight to your own luggage as you make your way outside to your well-marked transport.

Overall experience was good. Great food and service.

Not a nice experience ! The hotel has horrible food and when it is busy you can not get dinner because you need a reservation Any way it was almost unpleasant and it will not come back to it at all even if it is free

I love the up to date feel of the decor. The hotel was very nice. I didn't feel like the hotel offered any activities to do during the day but, we still had the beach.

Upon arrival at ME Cancun we were greeted with several friendly faces happy to help with our luggage. The front desk greeted us and asked us what type of activities and things we enjoyed doing so they could better serve us. Check in was quick and easy. We were early and our room was not quite ready, they held our bags and sent us off to lunch at one of the many great restraints. Lunch was great, we had six in our party and they seated us every time with little to no wait. We tried all the restraints and enjoyed them all. The food was great we really enjoyed the Asian bistro. The drinks where good also, little Alcohol as expected in each drink (pool side). The drinks at dinner where far better than those by the pool. The pool area was really nice, the cabana’s where wonderful to have at no cost. I was not sure I would use the water fetcher but it was a nice relaxing treatment to enjoy. The beach is one of the best I have seen. This was our second trip to Cancun and the beach is just spectacular, the white sand and the blues of the ocean, fantastic. I loved how many different chairs and cabana’s where on the beach for our use. It really does have something for everyone. The one thing that was missing is activity’s to do on the beach, no volleyball or things like that. It is a place to relax, have wonderful meals, and club.

We upgraded to the Ocean View room which was small and had a strange angle, which took away from the ocean view. The was no balcony which is strange for a high-end hotel. It was also small but clean. The food was very good with excellent presentation. But not a lot of fruits and vegetables. Nicer chairs at the beach that were closer to the ocean, some pastries, wines, etc. were for an additional charge. And, the price was high in US dollars. Some hotel staff were pushing for time-share. Overall would give 4 stars out of five. The ocean was beautiful and warm, water very clean.
