Guests will enjoy the warmth of Mexico and will be in contact with beautiful gardens, flowers and plants. In the commercial area are craft shops, car rental, rent internet services, laundry, travel agency and more. The hotel has swimming pools, sand volleyball court, safety deposit boxes in the lobby, currency exchange, pool and beach towels, cribs, hair dryers and irons, all the information you require regarding tours or excursions is in the concierge area. The Hotel has 87 rooms available, divided into 7 studios or Senior standard rooms and 80 standard rooms, all with cable TV, air conditioning, private bathroom with hot shower, balcony and power of 110 - 127 volts. The hotel also provides Dry cleaning, Lobby, and Reception services.

Pretty good compromise

Hot Showers, better than average motel beds, close to everything Cancun. Remodeled recently and the build is okay but the finish is poor. It faces the lagoon, not the beach, and you'll have to use a public beach access. Close to the city, unlike most strand hotels. The City has the bus terminal, grocery stores, car rentals, authentic restaurants, and the 'native' craft market. City buses cheaply carry you to the clubs, beach access, or the city from here. I paid half the going rate for a lagoon hotel, and it was worth it. Next time I may splurge to have a beachfront place. Don't get a city hotel unless you are experienced with third world cities, most are in the poor part of town.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

The Central Square of the old city, aka Market 28, has a very good food court for about US$3.50 per person. Near the square are fancier sit-down type restaurants with authentic Mexican food for US$5-10 per person. The strand restaurants are almost all cheesy themed or overpriced American places, US$25-100 per person. The Zona Hotelera has an area devoted to shopping malls and modern restaurants. They are not traditional and pricey, but they are new, clean and truly Mexican. I recommend La Parilla near Market 28, Avenida Yaxchilan.
