ah..cancun

Beachscape is a clean and well kept resort. Its rather small in comparison to other hotels in cancun but for the better. Never a worry for a place at the pool. Management seems as if they'd try to accommodate any reasonable request so we were pleasantly surprised for cost of stay. definitely would recommend

Great Beach and Pool

This resort was low key with good amenities and a great beach for singles, couples and families. Even though I booked 4 months in advance, when we arrived I was disappointed not to get the "Garden View Room" we had signed up for. We were given a "Street View Room" and could hear the traffic. I was able to get our room changed after two nights but only after being persistant. I did not go to Cancun to be persistant, I was on vacation! The second room we were given was very nice with a partical ocean view. I must mention that the airconditioner was in need of maintenence, as when it was running it was very loud. I asked for it to be looked at and the front desk said they would look into it but never did. I was able to deal with the noise but would have rather had it more quiet at night. All the help seemed nice overall but the front desk folks could have more smiles, be more truthful and have more positive attitudes. The food was good but limited somewhat for the package deal. We were fine with the selections. Beach help was great and the drinks were good that came with the package. If you are a coffee drinker #in the room#, make sure you bring extra 4 cup packets of coffee or instant #4 cup pot# for your room, as they only give you the first one and then you must pay for any more. Bring tea too if you want it for the room. Use lots of sunscreen 30+, I saw people burn without realizing how fast it was happening. If you don't want large romming charges on your cell phones, don't use them in Cancun. Internet Wifi is spotty at best. Give your family/friends the hotel phone number if they would have to reach you in an emergency and turn off the tech. It's a nice break. We took a one day tour to Chichen Itza and Cenote Ik Kil #swim cave#. Buy your package at the hotel after you arrive. It's the same price online and you will get the flexability of changing your day if you need to. Consider the $109 pp package. It includes a continental breakfast, coffee, juice, beverages and beer and a nice buffet lunch. Worth the upgrade. The Cenote Ik Kil was at the resort where we ate lunch. Like most tours, it's a little rushed. We would have liked another hour at Chichen Itza but overall it was a great tour! Plan on a 12 hr. day. We would stay at this resort again. Overall we had a great time.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Several ATM's and a bank to get smaller bills are only a short walk. I forgot medicine at home and was able to get it at a near by pharmacy. I would take a lot of $1,some $5's and $10's with me next time instead of using pesos. American cash is excepted everywhere. Have small bills, change is hard to come by. If you want to go sailing, there is a man who owns a sailboat that can take you sailing for an hour for $100 which you can more than likely bargain.

No complaints; just observations

The hotel is located close to the ferries, stores and clubs; all in walking distance. The beach and grounds are beautiful. For me, a single traveler, the accomodations were ok, but if "the extras" are important to you, the Beachescape might disappoint. The rooms are clean, but the decor is sparce and a bit run down. The restaurant is convenient, but the food is not great. It could easily be a 4 star with a few upgrades. The staff is friendly and competent, and I'd go there again.

Beachscape Kin Ha

This hotel has nice facilities - large swimming pool, reasonably priced restaurants, a nice beach area, and the typical tourist trappings. The staff are cordial and competent. The rooms - especially the suites - are comfortably sized and clean. If you prefer to stay out of the mega-hotels, this is a fine choice.

Ok if your on a budget but deffinately has a lot of problems

Upon check in they told us they were going to upgrade us to a studio suite which was not an upgrade since we had paid for a 1 bedroom suite with a kitchen. Once we showed them our confrimation receipt they didn't argue and gave us the suite we had paid for. The room appeared clean but had a very strong odor of mildew and a ton of little black bugs that was all over the kitchen. The grounds were outstanding and quiet, and the beach was fantastic. If they put a little work into their rooms to upgrade them they would have the perfect location and a very nice hotel. The staff always helped us but had a rude attituded as if we were putting them out and asking for alot, we just tried to avoid asking them for anything. House keeping was efficient on cleaning the room and tried to spray air freshner to get rid of the mildew smell, but wouldn't replace all of the towels and wash clothes they took out so by the time we left we only had 2 towels, 1 hand towel, and 1 washcloth. The on site resteraunts was very expensive and had ok food but we ended up cooking in the room and eating at other location most of the trip. I loved the location and how quiet it was but if I were to return I would probbably not stay here just because of the mildew smell, the bugs all over the room, and how rude the staff was.

Great beach and Location

We stayed throughtout the holidays, and we had a great time. Many places to visit stores, restaurants, bars. Buses can take you almost anywhere and are very cheap,The beach this hotel has is realy breathtaking and also great for families with small kids because its very shallow. All in all a great buy for your money

The hotel staff, hotel location and food were great. We were very pleased with all of the accommodations and we would certainly return again. We found it to be very private, family friendly and all of the staff were always pleasant and willing to help. Again, I would return.

A rare miss through 0rbitz

I frequently book hotels through 0rbitz and I am rarely disappointed but in this case, I will have to disagree with many of the positive reviews here. Although the Kin Ha offered reasonable value and it is difficult to go wrong in Cancun because of the beautiful beach and surrounds, I would not stay here again. We have a 21-month-old daughter and were put in a room on the third floor in an enclosed area housing three other rooms. We were told that the elevator is only available to owners who pay dues for its use so we were forced to go up and down three flights with our toddler and stroller several times per day. The room was good-sized and clean but noisy because of the constant slamming of the external door to the "suite" of adjacent rooms. There was little in the way of amenities: no frig or microwave, a series of old broken cribs for our little one, and seriously insufficient lighting -- a couple of coiled florescent bulbs above the bed and another nowhere near the sink where it was needed. No lamps anywhere! The buffet breakfast was tasty, if a bit overpriced, but avoid the dining room where the menu is limited, the service slow and the cooking oil smells more toxic than the highest cholesterol chip shop in Manchester! On the good side, the pool and beach are clean and there are both restaurants and shops (cheap souvenir shops and higher-end jewelry and clothes boutiques) just across the street. We're looking forward to our return to Cancun -- just not at Kin Ha.
