Couples Sans Souci - All Inclusive

First time in Jamaica, first time at an all-inclusive resort. We couldn't ask for a better vacation. This place was at full capacity and you never felt crowded. Food was EXCELLENT, staff was great and you can't beat the location.

Overall, I am VERY pleased with my stay at Couples San Souci. This was my first time in Jamaica and was blown away by the view from the hotel, the blueness of the water, and the seclusion of the main beach. Upon arrival in Montego Bay, we easily found the Couples Lounge and our bags were taken and tagged. We were able to enjoy some Red Stripe in the lounge while we waited for the shuttle to the hotel. After about 15-20 minutes, we were on our way. Our driver was courteous and informative. We then arrived at the resort about 1 hour and 30-40 minutes later. This was one of my least favorite parts of my week. It's like taking a flight to Philadelphia only to get on a bus and end up in New York. The ride BACK to the airport was even harder since the only thing we had to look forward to was a flight back to reality. The resort staff was welcoming and friendly. We were checked in quickly, given a cool wet towel and a drink and driven to our room. We were staying in a Beachview Suite and I thought the location was terrific. From our room we had a fabulous view of the main pool and the beach. The grounds are beautiful. Very nicely landscaped. One downside of this resort is the number of stairs to get to certain areas of the resort. Depending on which block you are in you may have numerous steps to the beach or numerous steps to the lobby or Balloon Bar. However, it is this hilliness that gives this resort it's very private feel. The main beach is secluded from the rest of the area by rocks that jut out into the sea. The scenery is beautiful. For activities, we enjoyed a Glass Bottom Boat tour, Kayaking, Dunn's River Falls, and a trip to Margaritaville. Of all of the above, the only one that was a BUST was the trip to Margaritaville. We were told to meet in the lobby by 10:45 PM for a Tuesday night excursion to Mville. We waited until after 11 for the driver to arrive and when he did, he was one of the least friendly drivers we have met. (I don't think the drivers are San Souci employees though). He picked us up, along with another couple and we were taken to Mville. There was not another tourist or patron in the place. A few employees were hanging around, but we immediately returned home. Much to the chagrin of our driver who mentioned he had plans to enjoy himself while we were at the club. As for the other excursions, there really only are a few. Dunn's River, Golf, Shopping and Mville. I think in this aspect the resort is lacking. Dunn's River Falls was a blast! Sure, it's touristy and cheesey at times but our guides were terrific and we really did get WET and have fun. Of course, when off the resort you are a target for people selling their wares. Just keep walking. :) The food at the resort impressed me. We ate at the Beach Grille, Bella Vista, Palazzina, and In Room Dining. I can't recall a meal that I didn't enjoy. On the downside, take your own snacks AND, if you're thirsty on the beach before 10... you might have to go back to your room to get water. The Beach Bar and pool bar didn't open until 10. One complaint I have is something I will call "Jamaica Time". I realize this is an island and it is vacation, but if I'm asked to be somewhere at a certain time, I expect to be received at that time. The Entertainment staff is fun. The majority of the bartenders are attentive. Don't expect the type of bar service you might get in a the most happening joint in your town. Remember, they don't get tipped so it doesn't matter how long you wait to get your drink. I don't want to make this sound like a big deal, because it wasn't... just something I noticed. All in all I was very satisfied by my experience. It's a great place to lay around and do nothing all day!

Hotel & Gounds were beautiful, wonderful Ocean view from the room we had (G1). We went there to do nothing, but there was plenty to do if that's what you want. You can get waited on, and never leave your room, or explore all they have to offer. Trips, boating, snorkling, subba, beach, pools, and plenty of activities. Wide varity of food, most good, some average, but plenty of it. The mix drinks were probably the most disappointing, premix stuff I wasn't fond of. There were plenty of stuff in the mini bar to mix your own. The drive fom Montego bay, really extends your travel time, but you get a good look at the country side for sure. Most of the Drivers were pretty darn entertaining which made the trip much easier.

great staff with nice beach (including nudist beach), out third time there and cannot wait to return. Fitness area good but could use more elipticals and more room (go before 9:30), meals are tremendous, room service is fast and superb. Night life is kind of quite, recommend the baloon bar for sing-a-long, most fun had during day at the swim up bar

We took advantage of all the water sports, laid on the beach, and had a lot of fun at night! The staff was excellent-outgoing, remembered everyone's name, always engaging in activities/parties with guests, made sure you never wanted for anything, etc. We especially send our compliments to Cohen, who works in watersports. Great time!

If you want to be pampered then Couples Sans Souci is the place to be. My husband and I had an wonderful relaxing time in jamiaca at Sans Souci. Could not have choose a better resort. So nice to wake up to the sound of the ocean, warm weather, views of the beach and the mountains. Just soooooo nice. AND most of all the SERVICE was TOP NOTCH.

The rooms were small, wet bar poorly stocked, bathrooms were terrible, water did not drain, overall grounds were terrible, spread out. We only spent four nights and checked out. We have not received a refund for the three nights not stayed at Couples. Please process the refund for us for the three nights.

its just a great place with super friendly staff. A+++

We love Jamaica and the au naturelle places. Spent time on both beaches. This place is called coupels and caters to the twosome. There is no nightlife, but there are a million places on the rtesort to share a moment with your special person. It is a beautiful property. The staff is friendly attentive and professional and you forget sometimes it is an all inclusive, becuase of the quality of service. The food is very good and with some nice variety in the restraunts. The rooms were nice and when we had a problem, they moved us without so much as a question. Golf, included, was ok at a nearby Sandals course. The diving was decent, although typically nothing really great. Sailing was good, with boats almost always available. The resort has adequate facilities for the nubmer of rooms. The gym was good although only one recumbent bike and no towels when we went there.
