Super Couple's getaway
Super clean rooms. Loved the layout of the little treehouse cottages. Very private and peaceful. Comfortable big bed. The grounds and plants were beautiful. Friendly and helpful staff. Food was wonderful. We felt very spoiled and pampered with the foods and drinks. Nice entertainment nightly. Loved the open atmosphere of the dining area. A very beautiful resort. A very short walk to the beautiful beach. Also loved the bar/grill on the beach. A very safe place to vacation. We really liked that there wasn't large noisy crowds of people! It was very calm and peaceful. Only wished they had screens on the porch doors so that we could have opened them without mosquitoes coming in. Bugs were very minimal. Wish room wasn't close to road. A little noisy at night. Would have liked to have been away from the road. All in all it was a wonderful mini vacation and would highly recommend this place to other vacationers.

Hotel does not have airport transfer. Highly recommend the private taxi service through Daina taxis. It is online and was a little more than the tour bus. We booked ahead if time. The taxi was waiting for us after we arrived in Jamaica and then picked us up at the end of our vacation. It was a private, quicker ride to the hotel/airport than the big noisy bus that stops a lot. A little more money, but well worth it!

Love it
This was my first all inclusive experience and i have to say that i truly loved every minute of it. The resort is beautiful and was very relaxing. The staff was great and was always willing to lend a helping hand. The only thing which is not a complaint but we didn't know is that the only AC in the whole resort is in your bedroom.. But overall i can't wait to return to this little quiet adult resort...

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
When shopping in the downtown section for gifts just watchout for some of the vendors who will try to charge tax on top of duty free items and shop around for the best deals.. the vendors are always willing to make a deal.

Great Vacation Spot!
The staff was the greatest. Since I am legally blind I would definitely recommend this resort to my friends and family. The beach wa across the street so that was the only downside; the meaals were excellent and like I said at the beginning, the staff was helpful, friendly and went out of their way to make my vacation fantastic!

Fantastic R&R vacation getaway
The entire stuff at Sunset Resort in Negril is very friendly, courteous and professional. They cartered to my every needs and they will engage in a friendly conversation. All of the staff is eager to entertain to you and make your stay as comfortable as possible. I stayed for 6 days in Aug. 2012, and I had a wonderful time; well worth the money. Karokee night is very good, but the band that they have "Foxtrot" need to be updated. However, a night club is down the road name JUNGLE & Margateville both are recommended for a more younger or hype crowd. Take a taxi to and from for $10.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
Time Square Mall is very good for shopping for bathing suit, gift items, souvenirs or a simple little dress and the prices are debateable; not too expensive. Don't shop at JAMROCK (no much items to choose from)

Fantastic stay in paradise
Sunset at the Palms is a fabulous place to stay if you want to relax in paradise! Excellent beach across the road (staff are always there to help you cross safely), great food, beautiful landscaping and wonderful rooms. if you want a change from gigantic concrete resorts with long lineups come to this resort and you will see! Get to know one of the great taxi/tourbus drivers (we picked John Wayne Tours and Garry's Respect Tours and both were great) and they will direct you to the best attractions at a good price (you need to negotiate a bit). We weren't crazy about Rick's Cafe but everything else was fantastic!! Jamaica is surprisingly friendly and locals really treat tourists well. We will be back!

Amazing value, great for couples
Sunset at the Palms was the perfect late summer getaway for my boyfriend and I. The all-inclusive price was unbeatable and the fact that it was late August made for phenomenal weather. As soon as we checked in, resort staff were bringing us fruit punch drinks and taking our bags. Throughout the week we enjoyed the buffet food and spent a lot of time at the poolside/swim-up bar, which is very nice. The bartenders were as friendly as can be. Our room was clean and our location was quiet and peaceful (except for the noisy wildlife!). The beach was about a 5-minute walk from our room and was absolutely beautiful. We even rented jetskis from vendors on the beach to get a better view of the area - definitely a highlight of the trip. The dining location at the beach had great food and a full bar, which was nice for the times when we had an appetite but didn't feel like changing out of our swimsuits. The resort was rumored to have a mosquito problem, but we brought a strong deet-based bug repellent which we sprayed on in small amounts before going out at night, so we had no problem at all. I had one bite the whole trip. We spent most of the week relaxing, but there are many opportunities in the area for activities (cliff jumping, scuba/snorkeling, parasailing, etc.). We spent our nights socializing with other guests and watching the bands - the music was consistently awesome. The only downside of Sunset at the Palms (and Negril in general, I suppose) is that it is a haul from Montego Bay Airport. Our drive was almost 2 hours by shuttle bus - of course it seemed longer when we were so eager to get to the resort! But the drive was worth it. All in all, a wonderful experience. We hope to return next year.

Relax at the Palms
Sunset At The Palms was so pleasurable! It was not to big like the huge chain resorts, but not to small either! The staff were friendly and attentive (in Jamaican time of course). Not a face passed environment, but there were activities planned daily if you wished to participate. The beach was right across the street, lots of room,& and it's not really that crowded this time of year. Just a perfect get-a-way! We would go back to SS at The Palms for sure!!

Bring bug spray and/or citronella incense to use at your bungalow. Also pack a insulated cup for the beach. They sell them there, but it's cheaper to bring your own.
