Riu Negril All Inclusive

The staff was great. The hotel could use some updates for sure.

I booked this hotel as part of a package deal with airfare. We spent 4 days, 3 nights there. My package deal was supposed to include two $35 discounts for the spa but we never got that. Overall, I would probably never stay at another Riu again but if you are looking to save money, then it probably is the place for you. The good: 1) Strong drinks 2) Rooms are clean and average 3) Most of the staff is very friendly 4) Massages at the hotel spa were amazing The bad: 1) Higher floor rooms do not have elevators so you may need a bell man to help 2) Food was very mediocre. Trying to get a reservation in the non-buffet area is next to impossible. Even then, the food in the Italian restaurant was not that great. 3) Hotel is not in downtown so you will need to take a cab if you do not have a car 4) If you want to go snorkeling, you probably need to be there longer. The staff walking around told us we had a spot and gave us a slip of paper saying that but when we went to pay, the company said they were full. 5) Although the rooms are clean they do not provide any extras like conditioner, shampoo, lotion, or coffee/tea in the room.

The resort was nice. We had a good experience because it was close to the beach. However, food was not too great. We mainly sticked to cheeseburgers everyday because everything was buffet style. Other than that it was a good experience. many amenities by the water, such as kayaking and paddle boating.

I had a horrible experience here. The only things included are food and beverage. It is advertized that they have a free shuttle from the airport, this is not true. They state that they have WiFi, which is true but there is a fee attached to it. There also is no calling outside of the hotel, even local numbers, without paying a fee. So in my mind this is less than all-inclusive. Not only that but I came back from a business trip a few hours early so instead of arriving at noon I arrived at 9pm the evening before. I had paid for 2 people for Sat and Sun at the price of $170/night and from Mon-Wed for 1 person at $123. So when I arrived back and checked in at 9pm they didn't state anything and then asked me to either pay $93 or leave. This is at midnight. I stated that I would pay the $47 difference but that I would not pay almost $100 for 12 hours when we were checking out the very next day. The entire time I was trying to find a new reservation an employee was trying to escort me off the premises. I will never go back and will never advise anyone to come here. Would LOVE me money and wasted time back!

Hotel staff was great. The food was decent and the rooms were adequate. Nothing that overly "wowed" you, but very good.

I had an amazing time here. The hotel really did give you everything you needed. The entertainment was good, the food and drinks were great and varied each night. Plenty to chose from and we never ran out of anything in our room. Loved the wifi in the lobby only. This made it possible to do things online for a while an then actually enjoy the vacation without beig online the entire time. The overall look of the hotel was beautiful. Everything was clean and made for great pictures. The staff were always friendly and professional. My only con was the beach. It was not the best compared to the beach areas further down. Beware of the stingrays! However, the hotel does provide free shuttle buses to and from margaritaville (for example) which is in front of and amazingly clean and beautiful beach area. They also offer can service that can take you for about $30 round trip. There are also local cab drivers that negotiate a price with you. You can probably get around the strip for $20 round trip using a local cab. I would definitely go back.

Just WONDERFUL! We have not stopped talking about the beautiful resort, wonderful people, staff, and overall experience.

The resort was ok. The food wasn't the best and there could of been some more entertainment. The staff was very nice.

We had a great time in Jamaica with our girls trip. The place was great, food okay, even for not huge travel people. Night life was ok…good for families.

The hotel was not what I expected, however we had a good time. The staff was wonderful. I was disappointed with the restaurants. We spent 5 nights and could go only to 2 restaurants. I believed I was the only Brazilian at the hotel and they could not accommodated me in the Brazilian steak house. The shows at night were wonderful and the entertainment staff were amazing. There were not many activities for children.
