The resort's pool bar pours fresh tropical libations and the restaurant offers tempting dishes, including lobster, in a charming open-air setting. Shopping and restaurants are within walking distance.

Features

Negril Beach Club Resort guests gravitate to Jamaica's most popular beach for relaxation and recreation. Water sports such as windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, deep sea fishing and parasailing are available nearby. A travelers Worst Nightmare!

Good morning, I recently made a reservation to Negril Jamaica.  Everything went extremely smoothly up until we arrived at our final destination.  Words cannot describe the deplorable conditions of the resort.  Needless to say the resort looked nothing like the pictures given to Cheap Ticket website. The front desk had no way of confirming our reservations because there was no computer system or they contended that their system was down.  We didn't see a computer in sight!  One of the tours representatives at the airport had taken our paperwork with the reservation information.  We eventually were able to bring up our reservations on a lap top.   From the moment we entered the resort into the lobby we knew that this would in no form or fashion be a place for us to enjoy our stay.  The front office was shabby and dirty.  When we were shown our rooms we were in total disbelief.  The kitchen area and appliances were beyond filthy.  There were holes in the walls.  One room didn't have a phone while another room did.  The television was left disconnected from the cable, unplugged and buttons were missing to change channels and such.  The bath towels were dingy and discolored, closet door almost knocked me in the head when I opened it as it fell off its hinges and the list can go on. We asked to see several rooms and after much discussion and coaxing we were given an upgrade that was also substandard. The resort employee claimed there was no one else to talk to except for him.  He refused to give us the owners number or information where we could contact them.  He claimed the manager had disappeared and he had no knowledge as to whether they quit, were fired or if and when they would be back.  His responses were totally unacceptable. We were extremely upset and disappointed.  We were so looking forward to this trip.  We wouldn't leave the country to pay to stay somewhere like that.  NOT ONE RED CENT!  We searched the beach area until we found a more comfortable location for the remainder of our stay.

Nice and Cozy

True this resort could use some new renovations but overall it is a nice hotel for the price. The only draw back would be that the beds are not that comfortable and they don't change the sheets everyday. The beaches are gorgeous and the staff is very friendly. Shopping and eating are within walking distance so I would definitely stay again.

Very disappointing!

Hotel very run down and in need of desperate repairs and updating. We eventually settled for the 3rd room that was showed to us and this granted was an upgrade to a larger room. Our 1st reaction, however was looking for another hotel online. We heard numerous complaints regarding the condition of rooms and lack of working amenities. Good location on beach, nice restaurant and bar with friendly staff however these are run separate from hotel.

"The Good, The Bad, and The Interesting

The hotel was ok for the most part...there were alot of problems with ants and roaches in our shower. Housekeeping never really bought us anything except if we asked and that was it. I really did not stay in my room for the most part of my trip...I visited Ricks Cafe which was so amazing and also partied alot...

not the best, not the worst

overall, our stay was all we wanted- relaxing, sun and sand filled. pictures were misleading as they showed timeshare condos nearer the beach than the standard room we were in. We did have to overlook that our standard room was in need of several cosmetic repairs to tilework, non-draining patio outside during rain and a few other things. The a/c noise did drown out the constant loud conversation of the staff of the resort that seemed to congregate outside our room, but we were nice and cool inside. Restaurant was good, bar was fine except for loud music from 10-5 ish that carried throughout the property. Beach was perfect!!!This is why we go to Negril and the price was right.

several options to eat along the strip heading away from town, but you need to be back home around dark as there are potential safety concerns. We had no problems however

good and bad

Well... what could I say?! It was not the accommodations that I was used to. I've learned that there are Jamaican and American versions of what is considered a resort. Let's say I will be staying in an American version next time. I was in Negril for a wedding and needed something cheap. I should have taken heed to the old adage, you get what you pay for. The good: Friendly staff convenient to town and local sites garden is well kept and picturesque room was nice and cold - good a/c The bad: Room doors did not seem too secure Hotel could be updated; old bathroom mat, fixtures and furniture Did not meet my expectations from previews It was an okay place if you just needed some place to lay your head. It was more on the lines of a motel with some amenities like a store, restaurant, beach bar.

Great experience!

We had a great holiday in this nice hotel directly at the famous 7-mile beach in Negril. The room was clean and was equipped with all you can expect for this money (2 Queen sized beds, TV, microwave, porch). Even though there were no dining options (seasonal) in the hotel, it was easy to find restaurants in the surrounding area (5-10minute walk on the beach). The city center of Negril (more restaurants + supermarkets) is in a walking distance of about 10-15min. All in all the place is a good deal if you have only a small budget!

Right on the beach

The hotel is basic. The rooms are run down, but the location is great, right on the seven mile beach and close to fun in the evening. You need to get used to a constant stream of touts while on the beach, but they are really friendly even if they are persistant and sometimes annoying. The small beach restaurant have decent breakfast and brunch. Activities include, snorkling, sunbathing, horseback riding, watching the sunset at Rick's.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Ask around for where the fun is on thet particular day of the week. You should pick right, otherwise you might end up drinking with very few people around you.
