Rooms
The condominiums and studios occupy low-rise structures just steps from the stunning white-sand Seven Mile Beach. Guests of the Negril Beach Club Resort choose from three room categories -- studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. Studios have king or two double beds, fully-equipped kitchenettes and balconies overlooking pool and gardens. Apartments have living rooms and kitchens. All include air conditioning and TV.
Features
Negril Beach Club Resort guests gravitate to Jamaica's most popular beach for relaxation and recreation. Water sports such as windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, deep sea fishing and parasailing are available nearby. Next door to the resort is the Negril Scuba Centre, where guests arrange dive packages and certification at various levels. For more relaxing endeavors, lounge with a book or take a casual beach walk for people-watching. The hotel's rustic beach bar serves refreshing tropical cocktails and Red Stripes.
The Negril Beach Club Resort is ideally located between the beach and Negril's dramatic West End cliffs, home to the popular Rick's Café and its famous cliff divers. Parts of the James Bond film "Thunderball" were filmed at this dramatic location. The coves, caves and tide pools beneath the cliffs provide excellent swimming and snorkeling. Chic bars and restaurants built into the cliffs attract crowds for dazzling sunsets.
The resort is within walking distance to duty-free shops, boutiques, food stores, restaurants and a crafts market. For a memorable dining experience, enjoy a lobster dinner at the Negril Beach Club Resort's open-air restaurant, Lingah by the Sea.

Virtual tour & some pics NOT this location. Moved immediately.
Room mirrored lobby conditions - dark & desperately in need of repairs - but with the addition of mold. Desk staff member perfunctory, not at all welcoming. We had reserved a garden studio, an upgrade from the standard room, in order to have a kitchenette which we found consisted of a plastic bookcase with a coffee maker beside a rusted frig. No utensils. Bathroom tiles poorly installed with large dirty openings. Tub permanently stained. Closet without light, broken hangers, rusted handles. Door appeared to have been jimmied. Patio left sticky residue on our shoes and overlooked an open, cracked drain. Room photos on travel site bear no resemblance to Rm 134 and virtual tour scans appear to match those of a high end resort and spa many properties north on the beach. Travel site insists all images were provided by Negril Beach Club. We moved in less than 2 hours leaving comments in writing with the desk clerk. We do not demand luxury in our travels, but I do expect travel sites to accurately present the locations being promoted. Working now to get a refund. Unable to upload photos, but will try to resolve and edit this post later today.

Can't beat the price
Taken back at first. looked dirty and run down, but really just needs a coat of paint. Our room was bigger than a normal motel. Nice garden and the staff was good. Lingah By the Sea restaurant was good and reasonable. Maid service everyday, clean towels. good AC and 19" TV, our phone didn't work. Take your own beach towels none provided. We take the cheap $2.00 floats from Wal Mart and give them away when we leave. It's a great place to float, the swimming area is safe and roped off from the jet skis and boats. We swam out with our masks on the floats beyond the dark spots which are grass outside the ropes and found dozens of giant starfish, some 12"s across. It's a long swim don't do it if you are not a good swimmer, it's about 20' deep. There are 2 shops in the motel, one is small with cold drinks, beer and snacks run by the motel and the other has souvenirs, liquor, towels ice cream and snacks privately owned. Beach is nice and kept clean by [...]plenty of chairs and shade under the almond trees. The bar is ok, when the younger bartenders are working the music is too loud, but we found this the case at other smaller motels we stayed in there also. They turned it down when we asked them to. Close to town 1/2 mile. Be sure to get patties from the patty man on the beach for $1.00 - $2.00, I like the beef. Don't expect to use the hot tub, I was told it hasn't worked in years. The grounds are well maintained I guess for the Time share guests. They get the nicer beach condos. We were in rooms that backed up toward the beach but the beach was blocked by the garden area. We sat on our patio and played cards in the evening when it rained. We had a group of cats and kittens hanging out by our patio. Good place if you are like us and spend 90% of your time on the beach and not in your room. Go to Ys falls if you want a day trip but it's a hour and a half taxi ride, we paid $100 for 2. Good cool water, lots of scenery and a zip line over the falls. Guides there will help you and take pictures of you. Tips welcome. You will be approached by lots of locals on the beach selling everything from necklaces to pot. Just tell them no thanks and move on unless you want to buy something. Free to look, they are just trying to make a living and most are ok.Lots of fresh fruit sold too. The best thing I like about Jamaica is the temperature, pretty much a high of 85 everyday all year and 60% humidity. Very laid back, No problem, Yea Man.

Lingah by the Sea on the beach is good. Breakfast, Lunch and dinner.Recomend; Jerk snapper, fish fingers, Lingah Chicken and the American breakfast. Do NOT get a hamburger! We ate here 80% of the time. Open air dining. Reasonable prices. $5.00 to $15.00. Lobster was $20.00. Go to Rick's Cafe and jump off the 35 foot cliff it's really cool, but I don't recommend the food too pricy for what you get.

Not what I thought it would be!
The hotel is nicely located on the beach however; the hotel was not what I expected. The decor was stuck in the 70's it really needs an huge make over. There were six of us and we had three rooms. We all had complaints from the ac not working to roaches in the room. The bed was highly unconfirtable I couldn't wait to go home to sleep in my own bed. The overall vacation was great but the hotel stay was not. The resturant and bar thats on the property was Awsume but they are not affiliated with the hotel. I have stayed at Travellers Beach Club Resort in the past which is next to Negril Beach Club Resort and have had a wonderful experience. That may be were I will be staying next year.

This hotel had the best beach on the strip. All the hotels seemed to have only a few feet of sand before the water. This hotel had a nice beach and a lot of trees for shade. It is a combination of timeshares, rental-condos, and rooms. Everything else was nasty. No room service, smelly rooms, and everything was broken. The staff was not so friendly but they did their job. Security was good. A couple of cockroaches appeared every morning in the bathroom but apart from that pests were not a problem. The rooms have a balcony with a view of a well maintained garden.

Ask for [...](who will come and talk to you on your first day at the beach anyway). He has a boat and will take you to do things like snorkeling or party at the beach for a very reasonable price. He and his Snoopy Dog look alike are very interesting and funny character as well. They are very friendly.

credit card fraud victim
Beach Club was great but watch out for..
Beach Club was just fine, not special but worth the price. Good location, good restaurant, beach. Our room 133 was pretty bare bones, decent ac, patio, fridge, clean etc. Worth the money and would stay there again. I do want to give a heads up on credit card fraud that has occurred to my card today and I just got back from Jamaica yesterday. I only used the card at a few places. The hotel I booked through [...]and I don't think that led to the fraud. I used the card sparingly. Harley Davidson shop, Bar B Barn, the spa at the Caves, the restaurant at Negril Beach Club and Alfreds on the beach. Alfreds is the one that I am very suspicious of... I gave the bartender my card during the 10pm Friday night reggae party on the beach as I anticipated purchasing several drinks between my wife and I. They were very busy and lots of patrons there. When I eventually went to get my bill, it became obvious that the bartender was avoiding me. The first 15 minutes or so I was calm as I was still enjoying the music and understanding that they were slammed. After about the 3rd time that the bartender told me to hold on mon as he went to other customers I began to yell to him or someone of the 4 bartenders to get me my check. The bartender came to me and told me he could not give me my check because my credit card WAS NOT THERE! He said my card was at the owners house and it would arrive back to the bar shortly. Then I began to loose it, demanding that I get my card back and that I wanted to talk to the police. He walked away. I began to yell for some police or security. The bartender came back and said "please your card is coming." I began to double think of my actions and wondering what realistic position I was in, in a different country etc. I stomped off to the restroom, outside of the bar, to get some fresh air. When I came out of the restroom I was surprised to see that the bartender that just couldn't manage to come to me the past 1/2 hour was now outside the bar. It appears that he was looking to see where I went, (to get the police that I was yelling for maybe) because when he saw I merely was coming out of the restroom, he appeared relieved and darted back to the bar. About 5 minutes later he said my card was back and I was surprised to see such a small bill for the amount of drinks that I had. I figured it was just to smooth over the delay, I even gave him a tip. End of story til the phone call from credit card company. Now I'm wondering why my credit card had to travel away from the bar before I was even ready to check out. You can imagine my recommendations for Alfreds.

Overbooked
When we arrived at Negril Beach Club it was overbooked. We got the last room that was uninhabitable. Serious electrical problems I could go on and on. I have been to Negril many times and know what to expect. Some people wated to all hours of the night and were transferred to another property on the cliffs when they expected beach. If you book here do it through Gene Glynar at Negril Beach club condos. She will see that you get what you need. [...]will get you the bottom of the barrel. Otherwise as always Negril was wonderful.

Not All that Great
We were given a shabby room on our first night, not at all what we had booked. We were switched, after asking, the next day, not to the type room booked, but better. Adequate AC, microwave didn't work, bathroom sink barely drained. No screens or mosquito netting, though there were few bugs, so not a big deal at this time of year. Housekeeping barely adequate, paid $3.00 per day for use of the inroom safe whch offset the $20.00 key deposit. Not enough chairs on the beach, towels available at a cost for the beach. The restaurant was adequate, the pool and bar a joke. The beach was kept clean, but far too many hustlers and drug dealers who don't take no for an answer. Security fairly ineffective in controlling this. Our room was noisy, right next to a parking lot and barking dogs. On site convenience store ill stocked and expensive. Staff relatively friendly, but not overly helpful or informed. I guess you get what you pay for, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Food in Negril is OK, but just and the prices are close to or more expensive than U.S. Best place we ate was the Rockhouse, and a little joint in the country. Don't expect to find much in the way of gourmet food, not even the tropical BBQ version.

Great Beach,OldClean Rooms,PoorCheckin
The Negril Beach Club's location directly on beach is great and easy walking distance to the town center. Their variety of upgraded(or not)units, staff services and NBC's ability to deliver what was promised when you booked, bounced all over the place. Just don't arrive with expectations of a high end Sandals-like resort atmosphere, you get what you pay for. Since Negril Beach Club was packed full due to the holidays, I had to 'negotiate' with the NBC staff before we finally got the balcony studio w/kitchenette I booked thru [...]. The porter first lead us through a balcony studio w/kitchen and thru an adjoining door to get into 'our' unit because the lock on our unit's outside entrance was broken? Unit C10 was just a room with 2 double beds, one window, no balcony and the broken lock entrance was to a back alley/parking lot. When I said we were supposed to have a balcony, he pointed to a solid wood plank door which had an overstuffed chair in front of it and said the balcony was thru there?? So I said what about a TV, fridge and MW? He said Oh, they would bring those in tomorrow. I asked where are they going to put them when there was barely room to unpack our suitcases, trying to make the point this was not going to be acceptable. He then said this room was only for tonight (which the front desk had failed to make clear), and that a balcony studio with 2 beds would open tomorrow. Then he said wait a minute, let me check. He came back 2 min later and led us back into the studio adjoining the 2 bed room. He said this can now be your room. While C11 only had one double bed instead of two, there was an A/C, TV, in-room safe, patio and a full kitchen. Persistence pays off, so stick to your guns until you get an agreeable compromise between what you paid for and what they say is available. I don't think our experience was isolated. The next day when I was at the front desk getting beach towels, a couple came in asking what time a 1 bedroom would be available today. While the staff was checking, they said when they arrived they were told there was no room for 3 days. NBC moved them into another hotel,no beach,on a hillside above downtown Negril, even though they had paperwork to prove they'd booked NBC online. So overbooking seems quite common here. NBC's complex consists of about eight 3-story buildings in a U shape that opens directly onto the beach. Some of their buildings, patios/balconies seem better situated/updated than others. Their pool is rather small but adequate. The hot tub is surrounded by lovely greenery. Neither were sparkling clear and coulda used a little more chlorine or a drain & water change. But with the fantastic beach & ocean NBC has, we didn't use either. NBC has a beach bar and a very good restaurant, Lingahs by the Sea. There are security guys and a chain across the front entrance plus other guards watch the beach, so we felt safe. Lots of families with kids stayed in the 2-bedroom condo units. FYI - NBC requires a $20 US deposit on the room key. Another $50 US deposit if you want a key to use the in-room safe, plus a daily charge of $3 US. Our kitchen had a full-sized fridge, stove, sink, MW, toaster and basic dishes, flatware, pans, etc. The freezer had an unbelievable 6 ice cube trays in it (there are no ice machines, so this is a big plus). We had no problems drinking the tap water at NBC or other Negril establishments. The shower always had hot water. Our A/C & cable TV worked well. To me Cleanliness is the deal maker or breaker. Our ground level unit had no problems with bugs. Yeah, our tub finish was dull with wear marks in it, but when I ran my fingernail over the surface, it was clean. The dull finish was from decades of being scrubbed. The sheets were older, a little dingy but of good quality thread count. Our maid made up the room each day. We left her a tip each day. Looked to me like NBC had about the widest and deepest beach of the places we saw on Negril's 7 Mile Beach. NBC's beach...

Short walk from hotel
NBC has several gift, liquor and grocery mart shops on the premises. But for cheaper and better selection of juice, beer, soda, Bleu Mtn coffee, fruit, snacks, meat, veggies type provisions, head downtown to the HiLo grocery/liqour store. It's about a mile walk and then take a taxi back with your sacks. Be sure to agree on the price before you get in.
