Explore tropical wonders of Negril at budget friendly beachfront resort

The condominium-style Negril Beach Club Resort caters to guests wishing to explore Negril's natural beauty and attractions. The resort is located on Seven Mile Beach, a playground for water sports, walking or lounging. A short trip brings guests to Negril's other natural wonder, its dramatic cliffs, famous for its acrobatic divers, sunsets and hip bars. The resort's pool bar pours fresh tropical libations and the restaurant offers tempting dishes, including lobster, in a charming open-air setting. Shopping and restaurants are within walking distance.

Highlights
  • Prime location on Seven Mile Beach
  • Near Negril's famous cliffs
  • Short walk to shopping, restaurants
  • Charming restaurant, beach bar
Rooms

The condominiums and studios occupy low-rise structures just steps from the stunning white-sand Seven Mile Beach. Guests of the Negril Beach Club Resort choose from three room categories -- studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. Studios have king or two double beds, fully-equipped kitchenettes and balconies overlooking pool and gardens. Apartments have living rooms and kitchens. All include air conditioning and TV.

Features

Negril Beach Club Resort guests gravitate to Jamaica's most popular beach for relaxation and recreation. Water sports such as windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, deep sea fishing and parasailing are available nearby. Next door to the resort is the Negril Scuba Centre, where guests arrange dive packages and certification at various levels. For more relaxing endeavors, lounge with a book or take a casual beach walk for people-watching. The hotel's rustic beach bar serves refreshing tropical cocktails and Red Stripes.

The Negril Beach Club Resort is ideally located between the beach and Negril's dramatic West End cliffs, home to the popular Rick's Café and its famous cliff divers. Parts of the James Bond film "Thunderball" were filmed at this dramatic location. The coves, caves and tide pools beneath the cliffs provide excellent swimming and snorkeling. Chic bars and restaurants built into the cliffs attract crowds for dazzling sunsets.

The resort is within walking distance to duty-free shops, boutiques, food stores, restaurants and a crafts market. For a memorable dining experience, enjoy a lobster dinner at the Negril Beach Club Resort's open-air restaurant, Lingah by the Sea.

A travelers Worst Nightmare!

Good morning, I recently made a reservation to Negril Jamaica.  Everything went extremely smoothly up until we arrived at our final destination.  Words cannot describe the deplorable conditions of the resort.  Needless to say the resort looked nothing like the pictures given to Cheap Ticket website. The front desk had no way of confirming our reservations because there was no computer system or they contended that their system was down.  We didn't see a computer in sight!  One of the tours representatives at the airport had taken our paperwork with the reservation information.  We eventually were able to bring up our reservations on a lap top.   From the moment we entered the resort into the lobby we knew that this would in no form or fashion be a place for us to enjoy our stay.  The front office was shabby and dirty.  When we were shown our rooms we were in total disbelief.  The kitchen area and appliances were beyond filthy.  There were holes in the walls.  One room didn't have a phone while another room did.  The television was left disconnected from the cable, unplugged and buttons were missing to change channels and such.  The bath towels were dingy and discolored, closet door almost knocked me in the head when I opened it as it fell off its hinges and the list can go on. We asked to see several rooms and after much discussion and coaxing we were given an upgrade that was also substandard. The resort employee claimed there was no one else to talk to except for him.  He refused to give us the owners number or information where we could contact them.  He claimed the manager had disappeared and he had no knowledge as to whether they quit, were fired or if and when they would be back.  His responses were totally unacceptable. We were extremely upset and disappointed.  We were so looking forward to this trip.  We wouldn't leave the country to pay to stay somewhere like that.  NOT ONE RED CENT!  We searched the beach area until we found a more comfortable location for the remainder of our stay.

price matched the hotel

The staff was very nice especially house keeping. The tv was very old and had very few distorted channels , mold in the bathroom around floor boards. The hotel has good bones just needs a lot of TLC. The beach was beyond beautiful The life guard gary, was very nice and accomedating. If the rooms were cared for properly I would return in a heart beat.

Nice and Cozy

True this resort could use some new renovations but overall it is a nice hotel for the price. The only draw back would be that the beds are not that comfortable and they don't change the sheets everyday. The beaches are gorgeous and the staff is very friendly. Shopping and eating are within walking distance so I would definitely stay again.

Adequate

For a budget traveler, I would recommend this hotel. The beach is small, but beautiful. The restaurant does not have an extensive menu, but the food is excellent. Amenities are bare bones, but the staff can finagle any site-seeing excursion you desire. If you like nice resorts, this is not the place for you. But if you only need the bare minimum, this is a good choice. Bring mosquito repellent!

Virtual tour & some pics NOT this location. Moved immediately.

Room mirrored lobby conditions - dark & desperately in need of repairs - but with the addition of mold. Desk staff member perfunctory, not at all welcoming. We had reserved a garden studio, an upgrade from the standard room, in order to have a kitchenette which we found consisted of a plastic bookcase with a coffee maker beside a rusted frig. No utensils. Bathroom tiles poorly installed with large dirty openings. Tub permanently stained. Closet without light, broken hangers, rusted handles. Door appeared to have been jimmied. Patio left sticky residue on our shoes and overlooked an open, cracked drain. Room photos on travel site bear no resemblance to Rm 134 and virtual tour scans appear to match those of a high end resort and spa many properties north on the beach. Travel site insists all images were provided by Negril Beach Club. We moved in less than 2 hours leaving comments in writing with the desk clerk. We do not demand luxury in our travels, but I do expect travel sites to accurately present the locations being promoted. Working now to get a refund. Unable to upload photos, but will try to resolve and edit this post later today.

Very disappointing!

Hotel very run down and in need of desperate repairs and updating. We eventually settled for the 3rd room that was showed to us and this granted was an upgrade to a larger room. Our 1st reaction, however was looking for another hotel online. We heard numerous complaints regarding the condition of rooms and lack of working amenities. Good location on beach, nice restaurant and bar with friendly staff however these are run separate from hotel.

Been there before - hotels needs care

Lots of small things about the room were not working properly this time - toilet did not flush properly, light bulbs not working, we would have liked a frigde and Wifi in the room, all doors were sticky and difficult to open and close, one chair missing on the balcony. The Wifi we purchased for the room worked only every now and then. The minimarket was a joke (no stock). Wifi in the reception worked well. The location directly at the beach is still prime - and the main reason for us chosing the hotel. While the hotel is now fairly old (I was offered a time share flat there back in 1988) proper maintenance could still svae the place. But it will have to start sometime soon.

I WAS THINKING TO GET MARRIED THERE :(

FROM THIME I WALKED IN TO THE LOBBY THERE WAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE PLACE LOOKED LIKE A DUMP , ON THE WAY TO THE ROOM THE WATER FROM THE AIR CONDITIONERS WAS DRIPPING TERRIBLY. RESTAURANT WAS TERRIBLE, LONG WAIT FOR FOOD THEN FOOD COMES COLD N NOT APPETIZING. NO ONE ELSE WAS IN THE RESTAURANT YET FOOD TOOK FOREVER AND THE ROLL WAS STALE. GO FIGURE AS TO WHY I NEVER SAW ANYONE ELSE EAT IN THE RESTAURANT. I HAD TO GO TO A HOTEL NEXT DOOR TO EAT. THE ROOM LOOKED LIKE BACK IN THE 70'S FACUETS RUSTED N SALT BUILD UP. I AM 5'6" AND THE SHOWER HEAD WAS TOO LOW. BATH ROOM TOTAL SHAMBLES. NO WATER ONE NIGHT.THE LIGHTS EVEN WENT OUT FOR A HOT MINUTE. NO FRESH TOWELS, NO DAILY MAID SERVICE. NOT ONCE WAS MY SHEETS CHANGED. I CAN HEAR THE PEOPLE IN THE ADJOINING ROOM AS IF THEY WAS IN THE BEDROOM WITH ME. ALSO THE CREASE IN THE DOOR HAD SUCH A GAP IN IT THAT I CAN SEE THEM WALKING BY. THE MAIN DOOR TO THE ROOM WAS NOT SAFE AT ALL IT WAS VERY INSECURE BECAUSE IT WAS FALLING APART AND THE DOOR CHAIN FOR SAFETY, ONE PUSH AND THAT DOOR WOULD HAVE BEEN OPEN. THE AIRCONDITON THAT THEY REPLACED WAS STILL IN THE WALL, WHEREAS THEY WOULDNT PLACE A PICTURE OVER IT TO HIDE THE DISGUSTING OLD FAME N MOTOR OF THE UNSED OLD AIRCONDITONER. THE BEDS FELT LIKE CARD BOARD. HARD N NOT THIICK AT ALL. THE TV WAS SO SMALL IT HURT MY EYES. TOWELS N BED LINEN WAS SHABBY. THE POOL, THE BAR, AND THE RESTAURANT WANTED PAINTING . POOL CHAIRS WAS BROKEN YET STILL USED AROUND THE POOL. INSTEAD OF LAWN CHAIR CUSHIONS THEY USED CHEAP PLASTIC LILOS. NO INTERNET IN THE ROOMS, U HAD TO GO TO THE LOOBY IN ORDER TO HAVE FREE INTERNET, IF NOT THERE WAS A CHARGE. CURTAINS N BED SPREADS WAS A HOT MESS. GOSH WHERE DID THEY BUY THEM??!!! I WOULD NOT LET MY 7LB DOG LIVE IN THAT HOTEL. THE SHOPPING MART SHELVES WAS SO BARE, I DONT KNOW WHY THEY OPENED. A DIGICEL TOP UP SIGN WAS DISPLAYED YET THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY AVAILABLE. I CHECKED OUT 2 DAYS EARLY DUE TO AN EMERGENCY I HAD TO ATTEND IN KINGSTON , I WAS TOLD I HAD TO GIVE THE REASON AS TO WHY I WAS CHEKCING OUT EARLY, AS IF I WAS IN KINDERGARDEN, ONLY TO BE TOLD I WOULD NOT BE GETTING THE 2 NIGHT REFUND , I WOULD ONLY GET ONE BECAUSE OF THE BOOKING CANCELATION.!!! ITS NOT LIKE AS IF I BOOKED THE HOTEL AND NEVER SHOWED UP. I SHOWED UP TO THE DUMP AND HAD TO LEAVE! ON THE SECOND DAY OF MY STAY I WALKED THE WHOLE STRIP LOOKING FOR ANOTHER HOTEL TO STAY IN , HOWEVER THEY ALL WAS BOOKED, IT WAS NO SURPRISE THAT THIS ONE HAD SPACE!! I DONT KNOW WHO WOULD WANT TO STAY THERE. I CAME TO MONTEGO BAY AND BEFORE I COMMITTED TO STAY IN A HOTEL I WENT N TOURED THE HOTEL N ROOMS BECAUSE I DIDNT WANT TO STAY IN ANOTHER HOTEL NIGHTMARE WHEN I GOT MARRIED. SO NEGRIL RUINED MY WEDDING , THE DAY BEFORE MY WEDDING I WAS HOTEL SHOPPING INSTEAD OF RELAXING GETTING READY FOR MY WEDDING. I WOULD NEVER STAY IN THAT HOLE AGAIN. I WOULD NEVER TELL A LIVING SOLE ABOUT THAT HOTEL EXCEPT TO STAY FAR AWAY FROM IT, UNLESS U WANT A RUN DOWN DUMP TO VACATION IN.
