Venice hotel on island of Murano in villa of ancient glassmaking family
The Locanda Conterie Hotel Venice is on the island of Murano, legendary for its centuries-old tradition of fine glassmaking. The hotel is in the villa of a family that has run a glassworks since the 16th century. Guests to this family-run hotel enjoy a peaceful refuge near the Glass Museum and the island's many glassworks, just a short ride via water transport from the central islands of Venice. ok as a base
this hotel is fine to use as a base to explore venice. frequent waterbuses travel to and from. although the rooms are spotless and the staff very helpful, breakfast is a little basic, but plentiful, and thgere is not much to do in the evenings on murano. eateries are few and far between, and very expensive.

Conterie Venice Hotel
I have stayed in other hotels and this was a very nice hotel. The location in Murano was good and easy to find. The room was small as most hotel rooms in Europe are; however, it was clean and very nice. The statf were very helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and would stay there again.

Take the water taxi from Venice to Murano and ensure that you know the location of the drop off for the water taxi. Since Murano is a small island, the location doesn't really matter for drop off. The walk from any water taxi drop off is short to the hotel.

We had a room where our private bathroom was not en-suite - it was next door to our bedroom which was not very convenient but otherwise the hotel was good. We were there first week in June and not many restaurants were open on Murano in the evenings but those that were - were good. Murano is very quiet after all of the day trippers have gone back to Venice, just perfect for us.Transport to and from Venice was frequent - no problems. Would stay there again - but in a different room perhaps.

It was a sweet little villa in
It was a sweet little villa in a great location on Murano. It was really easy to get in and out of Venice, and to the Airport. On our arrival we were greeted by a lovely English speaking lady who showed us our room and gave us a really good map. The Hotel facilities were great, sunny breakfast room and outdoor terrace. Two very important things: we had a good hot shower and really comfortable bed. The room had excellent air conditioning, a TV, safe and mini bar which was reasonably priced. We highly recommend this hotel.

Hidden Gem
Away from the crush of downtown Venice. Fairly easy access on the DM Ferry. A plesant place to stay and a good value. Would do it again.

Murano hotel
Hotel was in a good location and the rooms were good. Didn't like the number of stairs that needed to be taken to get to the room and the buffet breakfast was not the best with everything being prepackaged and not much of a selection

There are too many mosquitos. Could not sleep well. I had 5 mosquitos bites on my face!

Good value for the price
The Hotel Locanda Conterie was a relatively comfortable stay on the island of Murano. Our room was slightly musty, likely due to a leaking shower, but otherwise the location was very charming. I wouldn't suggest staying on Murano though, as you would be better served going on a day trip to visit. Many things close early and the entire island could be done in a couple hours (tourism wise). This hotel was much less expensive though than many in Venice, so it is a good option for travelling on a budget. To get to any other islands you will have to pay a $6.50E one-way water bus ticket. So that can get pricey if you do much back and forth. The island is definitely worth a go as the glass work is amazing, but I would suggest staying in Venice and making a day trip of it.

The hotel is on a street that is not apparent from the main streets of Murano. Get good directions before you go, or you will be wandering around confused for a long time.

Great family friendly hotel
Beautiful, Great! The Hotel Locanda Conterie represents everything that I love about Italy. Upon our arrival the consierge was so helpful and friendly, it was like being welcome to someone's Italian Villa! The Hotel is located in Murano, a few minutes in vaporetto from Venice, beautiful area and away from the crowd of tourist. Continental breakfast was included in our rate, everything great. If you are looking for a beatiful place at a very good price this is a grat choice. A little slice of Italian tradition and hospitality!!!!
