Very roomy and comfortable. The modern decor was excellent. Although the restaurant wasn't top notch italian cuisine, i would reccomend to a friend.

We had disembarked from a cruise in Venice and wanted a hotel near Marco Polo airport in order to make catching the next day's flight a bit easier, so it was also important for the hotel to have a shuttle service (more about that in a moment). On the positive side, the Hitlon Garden Inn Venezia Mestre is a new facility (seemed like it had been open for just a short time) designed and decorated in a very modern architecture and interior design. We loved what we saw from the appearance of the entrance, the lobby, bar, restaurant, business center, and the of course the room itself. On the negative side, well, the hotel is a new facility seemingly open for business just a short time. We did have some problems/issues: 1. Despite its central location to both airport and cruise terminal, they could not offer us any pick-up from Piazzale Roma, a central bus station also near the cruise terminal. However, it was easy to use the public bus to reach the hotel. 2. We ate dinner in the hotel's restaurant. We each had a pizza however the quality wasn't so great especially in comparison to other food we ate in other restaurants in Italy. 3. Fire alarm sounded at 6:30 a.m. It was a false alarm but no one likes getting awakened to a deafening, constant, and high-pitched shrill over which was difficult to hear any announcements concerning the situation. Alarm did stop after approximately 5 - 7 minutes, but no one made any follow-up announcement indicating if it was an actual or false alarm. So one could say the emergency system worked, but on the other hand there was no follow-up to advise guests about actual conditions. 4. Walls between rooms, or at least between our room and the room next to us, must be very thin thus permitting noise to be easily heard between them. We went to bed and around midnight, I was awakened by a very noisy family which had obviously just arrived. From where I lay on the bed, I could hear all their noise and conversation to such a degree of clarity that I heard one of the kids ask the parent if it was ok to jump on the bed!! There was a young girl, perhaps just a toddler, who had a couple of crying fits, all of which I heard with too much ease. So this noisy family in conjunction with the fire alarm did not make for such a great night's sleep. 5. We had arranged for what we thought was the hotel's shuttle to take us to the airport. At check-in, the desk agent advised us it would cost 10 Euro (not sure why it wasn't free/included). I asked if it was per person, but she said no; just per room. Seemed like a good deal to me. We arranged the time for the next morning. Comes the next morning and we check-out. I get my invoice but there is no shuttle charge on it and I ask the agent if she needs to post it. She tells me to simply pay the driver who was already waiting in the lobby (promptly on time). We get into the van and he takes us to the airport (took about 15 minutes) and I pay him the 10 Euro. Only problem is that he tells me it's 35 Euro!!! So we tell him the hotel advised us of the 10 Euro price and he says he's an actual taxi driver (there were no distinctive taxi markings on the van, by the way). We go back and forth with the driver who finally calls the hotel and after a few minutes, acknowledges that the hotel gave us the wrong information. He took our 10 Euro and supposedly the hotel would pay him his other 25 Euro. Suffice it to say, the hotel desk agents did not provide us with a clear understanding as to the transport arragements they made for us. Advice to any other person who may stay here and wish to use the transfer to the airport: make sure the desk agent clearly explains the arrangement and if you find yourself boarding anything other than the van that features the hotel logo, you'd better ask one last time!! Note: we did see the hotel's van (a red one with "Hilton Garden Inn" clearly visible on it) but that is not the one which took us to the aiport. I guess ...

Das Hotel ist sehr zweckmässig, liegt zentral für Reisen in die Lagune und perfekt für Trips nach Venedig. Ausstattung für Venedig 5 Sterne. Restauration gut aber beim Frühstück ist es manchmal hektisch, wenn zu viele Tagesreiser (Busreisen) abreisen müssen. Pool und Fitness toll. Wenn die Bepflanzung etwas höher ist wird auch der Umgebungslärm kaum mehr wahrnehmbar sein.
