Gardena Hotel Venice

The best thing about Gardena Hotel Venice was Ivan, who couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. He suggested an excellent nearby restaurant, a tour, minded our bags for us, and was unfailingly courteous, warm and friendly. The hotel was close to the station (ideal for us with very little time, and heavy bags), comfortable and reasonably priced. On the booking site it was said to have wi fi, which was incorrect. That was our only quibble, and Ivan more than made up for that.

We spent a day in Venice waiting to board a cruise ship, the hotel was close to all tourist attractions. What I thought was missing was the hospitality, we were Ignored at the hotel by rude reception staff. Our last trip was in Feb this year to Phuket and stayed at the Millenium hotel Patong, that was a wonderful experience, they pais particular attention to detail. We seem to have had to put up with an array of poor service in hotels.

Well worth the stay. Staff were great. Location was also a positive. Would revisit.

We choose the Gardena Hotel because it was close to the train station as we were leaving Venice at 23-30 travelling to Sorrento on the night train, it was an inspired choice, friendly helpful staff ( they let us leave our bags from checking out time until late evening when we set off ) Although it was a walk to the main attractions we didnt find this it to be a problem, the main charm of Venice is strolling through the many streets discovering all there is to see. Would definitely stay again, the price an added bonus.

we had a great time at this hotel. Close to Grand Canal and great restaurants. [...] at the front desk was very helpful and such a nice man. Breakfast was included and it was delicious. Would definately stay in this hotel again.

After choosing the Gardena hotel because of its location, charm, and the reviews I had read, and after walking over 2 bridges carrying suitcases packed for a three-week cruise, we arrived at the hotel only to find they didn't have our room. Even though I had my reservation sheet, they said they didn't have a reservation and sent us to their sister hotel which was 2 more bridges away (one being 100 steps, again with suitcases). They kept saying we were going to a 4-star instead of a 3-star but I had chosen them for specific reasons! The one they sent us to (Principe) was nice, in a good location, great breakfast included, warm room (which was good). But to start the vacation that way, with no help to get us to the other hotel after a night of flying was most difficult and frustrating. The ratings given in this review are for the Principe. I would not book with Gardena again.

A 2 pas de la gare routière et ligne vaporetto, hotel agréable, calme, personnel aimable, petit-déjeûner correct. Points faibles : literie à changer - vue sur mur béton à 1 m de la fenêtre dans cour intérieure sombre -

Nous avons eu une grande chambre avec un très grand lit donnant sur un petit canal, au calme; nous avons été très contents de cet hôtel.
