A Pleasant Stay

Be aware that this hotel has rooms in about five price ranges and the lowest range, standard, is basic. Lowest ranges do not include breakfast as the upper ones do. There is also renovation going on in one area of the hotel. After we complained about the renovation noise, we were upgraded at no extra cost to a large and pleasant suite. The management and service were quite accommodating and eating breakfast in the rooftop restaurant with its wonderful view was a pleasure. There is also a helpful concierge. The hotel is well located off the Via Veneto in a quiet and upscale area with nice restaurants and shops.

nice location

Great location near the Villa Borghese, and one block from the hop-on/hop-off tour bus, three blocks from the Via Veneto. Only negative was really lousy pillows I wouldn't make my dog lay on. Other than that, it was a nice place. The rooftop terrace was wonderful.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Don't eat at the places in the major piazzas (Navona, Trevi, etc.). Find a place down a side street. Prices are better and the food is usually a cut above. Also quieter.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE

I was there with my mom for my very special birthday. The staff was jsut great!!!!! Everyone was so helpful!!! Augustinos and Illario was amazing. They always recommended great restaurants. The breakfast on top of the hotel every morning was just beautiful. Service was great. Food was delicious. The hotel is really pretty and comfortable. The bar downstairs always has action and the bartenders make superb drinks. I will definitely be going back there year after year! I highly recommend it to everyone!

Great hotel and location for the price

I really enjoyed the Romanico Palace Hotel as soon as you walk in it is very nice and the rooms also just like in the pictures.. Everyone was very nice and polite...The hotel is right down the street from the zoo and the park.. And it was in walking distance to pretty much everything you are there to see.. but just from being out all day the walk back seems forever...Our room was quite small but it was always kept clean. The beds are very hard but believe it or not very comfortable. Also we were on the 5th floor and it was pretty noisy with all the cars in the mornings but then again we didnt have a clock so that was our morning alarm..LOL.... The staff was very helpful when needed. The breakfast was ok but you get bored of the same o same o everyday.. Just in all i say this hotel was great for the price. : )

Nice hotel not too bad of a location

Beautiful hotel and wonderful bathrooms (ours had an amazing shower and was able to use 110 appliances!). However the room was near the street on the 2nd floor and the street noise was loud and made sleeping hard. The location is really close to the Trevi Fountain and not too bad to get to the Metro. However, after a long day the walk back was a little long. The service was wonderful at the hotel but if the buffet is not indicated to be part of the price of your stay it is not worth the $$$ at 15 euro per person for juice, coffee, ceral, cold meat, etc... Much better to grab something at a cafe. Typical small Italian room and typical italian bed (too hard for my taste) but really nice rooms.

A pleasant stay

The hotel Romanico is clean, comfortable, more stylish than your average hotel, the staff was friendly and the service good. One very nice part of our stay was the breakfast at the top of the hotel. A complete buffet with everything included as part of the price. All the food was fresh and delicious. I love the location--the Via Venetto, a beautiful area to walk around.

GREAT EXPERIENCE

From the time we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by the friendly staff at the front desk, and were accomodated with a very professional bell hop that held our baggage until we were granted an early check in. The concierge, Ilaria, was so helpful and even came to our room to give us great information about bus schedules and restaurants. She went above and beyond our expectations. The room was absolutely gorgeous only we could not control the temperature so we were forced to sleep with the window open to get cool air which caused us to have to deal with a great deal of traffic noise. This is the ONLY complaint at this hotel. The location is one block from a "police station" along with the American Embassy in an upper scale neighborhood so we felt completely safe. There was a newspaper stand across the street which also sold fresh fruit and other items for a decent price. Mariano's restaurant was right beside the hotel and served a very tasty and reasonable Italian dinner. The hotel is within walking distance to upper scale shopping on Via Veneto and also the Hard Rock Cafe when you need some American food. Our Italian experience was fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel. PS - The bar at the hotel is quiet in the evenings and a little pricey but the bartender, Luca, is incredibly nice.

Less than luxurious

The hotel has small, but clean rooms. The breakfast buffet is acceptable. The lobby bar is extremely expensive, so much so that during our entire stay we saw no customers at all. The penthouse/rooftop bar is closed during the winter. OK for the price, but if you're looking for a 5 star experience, you should find another hotel.
