This hotel is perfect for visiting Rome, its near Termii Station (5min walk), Colosseum (10min walk) right beside Bascillia Santa Marie Maggiore . The views from the Roof Tops restaurant are beautiful. Room on 5th floor was more than adequate for our needs. We were out all day. Buffet breakfast was plentiful. All the staff were very helpful. Couldn't ask for a better Hotel, would recommend this to anyone thats wants to explore Rome

Hotel Daily Tax
Every thing good. The staffs are helpful and friendly. however there are unexpected charge when check out. They said it was daily tax. I think the booking agent should let customers know this when they make the hotel booking.

Excellent value
We found the Mecenate to be excellent value for the price. The location suited us perfectly: a short walk from the train station, tube stop and one of the city's most beautiful churches, Sta Maria Maggiore. We were given a large and very comfortable suite in a separate annex from the main hotel. The bathroom was particulary well-appointed, and even had a jacuzzi - very welcome after walking all day. The staff were all very helpful. The roof-top restaurant was excellent - we ate there two nights. Breakfast was a generous buffet with everything you could wish for.

The Roma pass (30€) is a really good deal for anyone wanting to cram a lot of sightseeing into 3 days. It includes free entrance to 2 tourist venues - we used it for the Colosseum-Forum and the National Museum - plus half price at all others, and free public transportation for 3 days.

short break in rome
Only five mins walk from main train and bus station allows easy access to both airport and city travel. We walked to all the main sites except Vatican City where we took the bus. Hotel was pleasant to stay in and the ample breakfast Buffet set us up for the day. Good local restaurants, or use the hotel. Would go back to both Rome and the hotel.

Brilliant hotel
Superb location for all the main tourist sites. Close to station and metro for trips further afield. Freindly, English speaking staff. Very clean, high spec rooms (we had Jacuzzi, Bathrobes, underfloor heating etc), and serviced thoroughly every day. Excellent buffet breafast - more than enough to keep us going all day. Rooftop restaurant is good quality and value - better than nearby restaurants. Has amazing views and a beautiful open terrace for relaxed dining if the weather is warm - not so for us in February. This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in for a long time and I highly recommend it

You can buy a combined entry ticket for the Forum, Palatine and Colosseum. Queues at the ticket office at the Colosseum are very long, so buy your ticket at the entrance to the Forum or Palatine. You can then walk straight into the Colosseum without queuing. Also, this is free to over 65's - but you must take photo id with birth date.

Wonderful Hotel in Rome
Located across a square from the beautiful Santa Maria Maggiore cathedral. Near a metro station, the main train station, and walking distance from most sightseeing destinations. Breakfast was outstanding. The breakfast buffet was in the rooftop dining area with great viewsof the cathedral and much of Rome. Most important to us, the staff was fantastic. Our luggage did not arrive when swe did and was delayed for 24 hours. The people at the front desk did everything they possibly could to help us.
