Good location

The location is brilliant there is no doubt about this. Unfortunately the bad things outweigh the good at this hotel. Although most of the staff very helpful, particularly the older gentleman on the desk during the morning who was able to offer sight seeing advice, but a couple we're not helpful at all. There is no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, with no room service or bar service after 10pm, you can't have a hot drink until the morning. The breakfast is great and plentiful, setting you up for a busy day. The rooms have cloth covering on the walls which must have been beautiful when originally decorated, but are now tired and dirty looking. The bathrooms are clean and modern but the window frames are falling to pieces! The furnishing are also very mismatched, the bed old and firm was actually comfortable. The hallways, sitting area and gym are beautifully decorated and furnished. TV reception and channels awful and wifi never able to use as unhelpful staff only gave us unusable instructions on a print out. We enjoyed our say in Rome, we found the funny side of staying in this hotel, but would not stay again.

Extremely Disappointing

After traveling all over the world over the last forty years I would rate this as the dirtiest establishment I have ever experience. No stars for this hotel other than the location. The level of dirt on the carpeting, walls, and floors was obnoxious, you could follow the trails of dirt wherever you went in the hotel. The air-conditioning in the hotel, lobby, bar, rooms etc was inadequate to keep the visit tolerable. Be sure to bring adequate clothing to allow for 3-4 changes each day as that will be the only way to keep comfortable and dry. Be sure to bring slippers as your feet or socks will be black after you walk across your room just once. High priced extremely dirty hotel. I have stayed in many old beautiful/clean hotels over the years, This is just plain old dirty and not maintained.

First Time in Rome

Overall it was an excellent trip. Every single person on the hotel staff was polite and extremely helpful. The room was small but the terrace made up for it, and the bathroom was roomy and updated. The location could not be beat, about 200 meters from the top of the Spanish Steps and was easy to navigate back to from any point of interest. I will stay here again when I return to Rome.

Excellent location!!!

this hotel is located a few steps from the Triniti di Monti at the top of the Spanish Steps or Piazza di Spagna. Staff were courteous and helpful. I was in a single room with a double bed and it was comfortable. I could see the Triniti from my balcony, also a lovely place for drinks before dining out. The breakfast room is a stunning with huge murano chandiliers and imposing oil paintings. Breakfast consisted of all of the items one would hope for, including eggs and bacon. I have no real complaints, however I would suggest the hotel to do a few things that would make this hotel perfect. Replace the plastic shower stalls with proper ceramic facilities , decorate the mini elevator with inviting fabric and carpet, and do something with the front desk to present a nicer entrance- flowers and a few paintings on the wall perhaps?

Facing away from the Spanish steps, to the left there is a cul de sac with Ristoranti a la Rampa. Have the linguine with fresh tomatoes and mozzarella. It's like a capresse on pasta. Very good indeed

Great Location

The Internazionale Hotel is located about a block from the top of the Spanish steps in a historic building. The staff was friendly and helpful if asked. The rooms were comfortable, but quirky and the bathrooms were oddly shaped and equipped. Avoid rooms on the front of the hotel because of street noise. Breakfast buffet was included and very good. Otherwise, there was no hotel restaurant - only a bar, but there were hundreds of restaurants within walking distance (from a few feet to a few blocks) that provided excellent choices. Wireless service only worked on the ground floor. The Metro was one block away, and virtually everything we wanted to see was within a 15-30 minute walk, including the Via Vineto, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Coliseum, Forum, etc.

Great number of restaurants, although you're going to get tired of pasta. You won't get tired of the gellato.

Internationale Hotel Rome

The following review is my personal opinion. My bad experience began at check in. Although a correct date for our stay was reserved through [...], the hotel company translated the information incorrectly and the hotel was not expecting us. I had to argue with the hotel staff for a while before the hotel admitted its mistake and gave me a room.Plugging in my computer was an ordeal. There are two types of electrical sockets in Italy. The more modern of the two is a two hole socket that can be accessed using most adapters sold in the US. This hotel uses the old three hole type of socket (which hasn't been installed in many years) equiring a second adapter to be used. When I complained about my inability to connect my computer through a standard adapter, the staff was somewhat hostile and argued with me that my "American" plug won't fit the standard Italian socket. I eventually demonstrated the problem and they ate their words. The floors in the room were so filthy that when I steped into the shower, black water ran off of my feet. The accordian fold bathtub enclosure had to be held by hand during a shower. The elevator holds one person and one piece of luggage or two people. All in all, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had in my 30+ years of business travel visiting more than 30 cities outside the US and staying in more than 200 hotels. Warn people to stay away from this hotel - especially room 24.

Internazionale Hotel -Rome

On arrival initially the entrance is not very appealing but once inside it is very original & interesting. Good location at top of Spanish steps.Lovely to walk out of the hotel & be so close to the sights. Good breakfast -very good scrambled egg !. Down side with breakfast-if you wanted fresh orange juice you had to pay extra 4 euro's per person. We were given an upgrade on arrival from a superior room to a delux room with a terrace !-this was a lovely surprise + very much appreciated. The room was at the back of the hotel + was very quiet. The only thing that we felt could improve this room + downstairs in the reception was that the carpet looked worn + would benefit from renewing. We would definately stay in this hotel again.
