- However, walking around Rome is truly a fascinating experience and you can enjoy the charming atmosphere, the lights, and the Ponentino, the famous fresh wind of Rome that blows in spring and summer and makes for very pleasant weather. That's the time to take a walk from the Hotel Diocleziano and along via Nazionale (at 4 minutes), that constitutes the famous shopping street. Don't forget to admire the majestic Terme di Diocleziano, the largest thermal center of the ancient world, as well as the cloister of Santa Maria degli Angeli, a work by Michelangelo (all this only 3 minutes away), and then get to Piazza Esedra with the magnificent Fountain of the Naiadi, (3 minutes). The Spanish Steps, are a magnificent spectacle and just a 15-minute walk, as is the Fountain of Trevi. A 20-minute stroll will get you to the most ancient part of Rome such as the one of the impresssive Imperial Fori and the Coloseum.

Perfect Location
You could not ask for a better location. Transportation was so easy and I never use public transportation but all buses ended up at the terminal a block away so you never had to worry when to get off. Even though the hotel is in such close proximity of the terminal, very quite street and we felt safe. We would walk to the major attractions, except we took the bus to the Vatican, and returned by bus since we were usually so tired by evening. I spent the extra money for the top floor room with a terrace overlooking the Roman Baths and it was great for my morning coffee/breakfast, which was all included in your room price, and a glass of wine in the evening. Buy a Roma Pass at the hotel, great time saver and money saver.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Don't miss visiting or attending mass (time every morning on the hour) at Santa Maria Maggiore, one of Rome's great basilicas and St. Peter's-in-Chains. Both Churches are short walking distances from the Hotel and on the way to the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Capitoline Hill.

Great staging post for touring Rome
We were warmly received and they changed the selected room for a better one at our request. Their American receptionist was exceptional and made our stay that must more enjoyable. Breakfast was not very imaginative and needs freshening up. Within short wail of the station we had metro routes to everywhere as well as a stop for the useful walk on walk off bus tours.

Four star Hotel-Five star experience
Quality and comfort were outstanding but overshadowed by the staff. Everyone was pleasant and very helpful, multilingual and knowledgeable. Great firm beds, spacious clean rooms, QUIET, but in the heart of things with easy access to all transportation. I'd choose it again in a heartbeat.

great place
The staff was great. The location was very nice. Very close to the main train station, as well as other tourist sites. Our room was small, but very nice. The work out room was good, and the breakfast was great. I am sure they had a larger room, which would have helped.

Very comfortable, clean & friendly
This hotel was great, although not in the dead center of city, it was close enough to walk or take public transit to most attractions. Very nice clean room, free mini bar and wifi and breakfast, staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall great experience for the money.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
For a great Rome experience I recommend renting a scooter for the day. Can really get around to see almost all the main attractions around the city easily. Must be willing to navigate with Italian drivers but no better way to get around. From this hotel a close place to go is Bici & Baci (bicibaci.com), near the Termini.

This an excellent hotel, well rounded. Location is very convenient, 10 minute walks (with luggages) from Termini (tran/bus) station. Friendly and knowlegable staff. Room is clean, very comfortable and quiet. Good American breakfast buffet. Would stay here again if come back to Rome. P.s.: cannot go wrong with this hotel.

Great hotel
Our room was rated as an economy room, but it didn't look or feel like a economy room. Double bed, large bathroom, free Internet access, outdoor patio, free snacks in the room refrigerator - we had all we needed! The staff was friendly, helpful and spoke English. They helped print out our boarding passes and called to check on tour bus times. The hotel was spotless The location is central to all we wanted to see in the historic section of Rome. We walked everywhere to and from the hotel. Dlc

"Not expected surprises"
Hotel staff was very helpful at all times; room was small but comfortable. Bathroom shower extremely small, so it is not easy to shower. Distance to train terminal and subway were convenient. At the end they charged us 30 euros extra. They said it was a city tax, but I really had my serious doubts about it. I did pay in advance for overall services and this was a disappointing surprise. I would recomend it only for the staff and location.
