Wonderful

The hotel was perfectly located. The hotel staff was delightful and very helpful and knowledgeable. The room was comfortable, small but adequate. The temperature in the room was very warm, but we were able to open the window. The breakfast was ok. The menu did not change from day to day. There were definitely more positives than negatives to this hotel, and I would stay there again.

Can't wait to go back!

These folks really took care of me and my friend. We hadn't scheduled anything when we arrived off our cruise ship. They helped us save money on sightseeing tours and restaurants and scheduled our departure to the airport. They made our stay completely stress free! The room was smaller than those we have in America, but it was clean, well decorated and came with all you expect. The continental breakfast included scrambled eggs and bacon along with the typical cereal, rolls, fruit and sliced lunch meat. Plus, YOU CAN'T BEAT THE LOCATION. It's only five minutes from the Trevi Fountain and ten to the Spanish Steps, yet the hotel itself was super quiet. You would never know you were so close to all the tourist action. I'd go back again.

All the lines to the major attractions were incredibly long. If you didn't purchase a guided tour or get tickets ahead of time, you could spend hours waiting just to get in. Be aware, Mondays are the busiest day for the Vatican as it's closed on most Sundays.

Great Location

We were able to walk everwhere and avoid taxi fees. Hotel was nice, but beware there is no AC in the winter/spring. This may seem ok, but we were there in February and still could have used AC. We were able to open the window, but then we could hear all of the regular downtown noises (cars, sirens, people, etc). Not too bad and we got used to it. Hard matress and no WiFi in rooms, only downstairs. Enjoy the central location and walk to places. Taxi's are not much faster and you miss a lot while in the car. Plus you'll need the exercise because you won't want to stop eating!

Avoid the tourist resturants and walk around until you find one with locals. You can usually tell because they are usually still crowded after 9:00 PM. Get on their schedule of eating dinner later (after 8:00 PM).

Great location, great stay

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Dei Borgognoni for our honeymoon in May of 2010. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was substantial. The room was not uncomfortably small. The location, near the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps, was fantastic - we walked just about everywhere in the city's center and to Vatican City. We really liked that there was a grocery store next door. The only cons were: the hotel lobby could probably stand to be freshened up as it seems to have gotten slightly dingy with age and there was an additional charge for WiFi. However, we would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic location

We had a memorable 4 day break and would certainly stay here again - quite expensive but worth it, due to location - everything is walking distance but beware of busy traffic at all times!!

Hotel Dei Borgognoni

We went to Rome for shopping and site seeing. The hotel location was perfect for both. We had no need to cab and were able to walk to every attraction. Spanish steps are two blocks away and it was perfect for shopping - you can buy and put the bags in the hotel as many times as you like. All attractions are up to two miles walking distance and the walk through the city is amazing. The hotel is very clean I could enjoy a larger room

Great hotel in an Awesome location

This is a very nice Hotel just a couple of blocks from the Spanish steps and the Trevi fountain. From the hotel we could walk anywhere but did take the Metro to get over to the Vatican. The staff was very nice and willing to do anything to help. If you want to save money on a bottle of wine try the grocery store next door. I would deffinetly reccomend this hotel.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

The hotel made us a reservation at Gilda, one of Rome's hottest nightclubs to spot the celebrities. It doesnt get going until midnight but is a great place to hang out until the morning.
