Cosmopolitanchic in the shadow of the Colosseum
If exploring the wonders of Imperial Rome by day and relaxing in elegant surroundings by night sounds enticing, the Capo d'Africa Hotel could be the right choice. The early twentieth century building is now asplendid boutique hotel, and the white brick and wrought iron exterior create an inviting impression. Once inside, visitors will find the stylish Centrum Bar and La Terrazza rooftop terrace overlookingRome, as well as a gym and three meeting rooms for business users. All this and the Colosseum just a few minutes' walk away. The public areas of the hotel are luxurious including the Breakfast Room where guests can enjoy a complimentary buffet breakfast, the Centrum Bar providing drinks and light Italian snacks all day, and the La Terrazza rooftop terrace with its panoramic views of the Colosseum and other landmarks. A fully equipped fitness center is free to use for all guests, and the Capo d'Africa Hotel has its own contemporary art collection with work by several Italian artists. Ideal hotel for Rome
Don't bother looking anywhere else, this is the perfect hotel for Rome. Situated on a very quiet side street just a 5 min walk from the Colesseum and 10 mins max from the Colosseo Metro, makes it perfect for getting out and about but without the noise of the main city. Clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly and speak excellent English. My husband emailed the hotel before we left to mention it was going to be my 50th birthday whilst we were there and they had a chilled bottle of Prosecco for me on arrival which was a lovely touch. No restaurant but room service from 11am to midnight and snacks are provided in the small bar/lounge area. Beautiful rooftop terrace where you can enjoy drinks and/or breakfast. Breakfast is substantial with lots to choose. Can't think of a negative thing to say really. Will definitely go back there.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Visit the church of San Clemente just a 5 min walk from the hotel. An impressive church inside, with frescos depicting the life of St Catherine (as in the Catherine wheel firework) but the wow factor is the fact there are two floors beneath the church which can be accessed for €5 per person, well worth it. See frescos dating back to 4AD and walk the original streets of Rome dating back to 1AD. Remains of a Roman Villa still remain and you can here the rushing of water from the underground river. A tourist attraction easily missed but it shouldn't be.

Great hotel
The hotel was in a great location. Quiet yet close to the bus stops and subway stops. Room was clean and well serviced each day. Staff was very friendly and was able to help us with whatever we needed. Our rate included breakfast and the food and service were fantastic. Would definitely stay here again.

A hidden gem in the city center
Our experience at Hotel Capo d'Africa was nothing but great. The location was great (5 minutes walking from the Colosseum), the staff were great and the breakfast on the terrace was amazing. Highly recommended.
