Dining
- Restaurant
- The Sussex Restaurant has long been established as the first in fine-dining for both guests and local residents. Amidst an Art Nouveau Cafe Paris-type ambience, the restaurant echoes an era of times past - where smiling, friendly waiters tend to your every request - the bright, glass recesses in the walls allowing for ample natural light during the day and setting a chattering, romantic scene by night. A special Breakfast is served in the Sussex Restaurant - a vast, delicious buffet including cereals, mueslis, yoghurts, fresh fruits, meats, delicate pastries, warm breads and a variation of cooked breakfasts including a "Full Irish" with fresh coffee and a wide selection of teas. Lunch and Dinner is also served in the Sussex Restaurant from varied menus using the best of fresh, local produce - complemented by a meticulously selected wine list.
- Bar
- The low-lit expanse of this chic, contemporary bar make it a great place to enjoy a pre-dinner chilled aperitif, a zingy cocktail or a cool drink - or simply to join in on the busy chatter of guests and locals alike. A hub of friends and colleagues, Bellini's has become hugely popular since re-opening its doors as a modern progression on the legendary Buck Mulligan's Bar - despite its new interior, the conversation remains the same.

Nice Experience
This hotel was a pleasant surprise. The staff was exceptional, the room was clean, and we were allowed to check in super early (without extra charges). The concierge desk was extremely helpful and everyone was very polite/friendly. The hotel/accommodations were neat and tidy. It is an older hotel, but very clean. The hotel was very busy hosting business events/parties but this did not interfere with service. The bar/restaurant is quite expensive which deterred us from trying it. The bed was not comfortable and the room temperature was HOT. For safety reasons, our window only opened about 4 inches so we were very warm the entire time. The front desk told us how to turn off the heat, but the room never really cooled down. The pillows were terrible, so we used our travel pillows (thankfully we brought them). The furniture was scratched up in places, yet clean and sturdy. We did not mind this, yet was surprised to see it. The location is about a 20 minute walk to St. Stephen's Green. Taxi cabs lined the driveway, but we walked most of the time. A couple of our destinations were far from the hotel, so we took a taxi. There are a couple of pubs about 3 blocks away (one place looked more like a restaurant than pub). Otherwise, you have to get to St. Stephen's before finding food/drink. Our major complaint about this hotel was the noise level on Saturday night. Previous reviewers mentioned that it could be noisy and they were right. We had to wear ear plugs to sleep that night (thank goodness we had some with us). Overall we are happy with our experience, for what we paid (which was extremely low). My attitude would be more negative if we had paid the advertised price per night found online. In the future, we plan to stay in a hotel closer to Dublin (the St. Stephen's area was lovely). It became irritating to walk so far at the end of a long day of sightseeing, and the taxi cabs were pretty expensive in our opinion. Bottom line: I would recommend this hotel to people that do not mind walking everywhere (and are physically able to do so), and to those that do not mind out of date decor/well worn furniture. I would also suggest finding a lower price than advertised.

Good easy hotel
I attended a conference here. Facilties were good and staff very helpful. Free wifi too! I was disappointed that breakfast was not included in the Cheap Ticket price. On the downside, there are no chairs in the hotel suitable for arthritis sufferers (i.e. firm seat, high enough for tall people, good back support).

Good conference location
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very local, i.e. Irish specialities like black and white pudding, but not very international, poor choice of bread. Rooms were very clean, but noisy when music was on in the ballroom. No mini-fridge, no toilet brush, no hairdryer. Location: good, airport bus and local bus stop directly in front; about 30 min walk into city center, some pubs close by.

Not a Good choice to stay in Dublin
I was disappointed with this hotel, I up graded my room from a standard to Executive and there was suppose to be a mini bar which there wasn't, suppose to come with breakfast which it didn't, No alarm clock, Iron didn't work, safty latch was broken, and it is far from the city center which is where everyting is at. It suppose to be a 4 star hotel it is more like a 2 star. Would not suggest this hotel to anybody, beware.

Girlie weekend
Fantastic, great everything, room, location, food and staff, especially Danny in the bar. Loved the Mesnil bar - it should be open everynight though as sometimes you can get a little lost in the big bar. Will definitely re-visit.

great value, beautiful hotel
I really enjoyed my stay at The Burlington. It's a beautiful hotel with exquisite decor; it actually may be prettier than the pictures on the site. The location wasn't bad. Definitely take the opportunity to walk to places like Temple Bar (30 minute walk), shopping on Grafton (15 minute walk), and St. Stephen's Green (10 minute walk), if you are able. If not, there are always tons of cabs outside. When I first arrived, the bell hop took about 40 minutes to bring my luggage upstairs, but later apologized. I requested a wake up call for one morning but never received it. Luckily I had a backup. Another was requested the following morning and it was fine. The reception staff was very friendly, and even let me check in at 9am! The concierge can't be beat. In all, I would definitely stay at The Burlington my next time in Dublin.

Great location, very nice hotel
The Burlington was a perfect choice. My room was clean, chic and ready when I got there - even though I hadn't requested an early check-in, it was no hassle. A nice, brisk 10-15 min walk to the City Centre (via the lovely St. Stephen's Green). Two small issues: the walls were pretty thin walls (could hear my neighbors easily) and the hotel staff could be nicer/friendlier (they are helpful, though it sometimes felt like it was a burden for them to be so). Overall, a great choice!

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Forget the cab to the city centre, eve in the early morning or late night. Just walk, it's safe and a very nice walk. A cab will run about 9-11 euros and it's not worth it (unless the weather is bad).

I booked this hotel with 2 other friends because the price seemed reasonable. When we arrived, we realized that it was nicer in person than in pictures. The staff was extremely friendly and helped us book all our tours and recommended locations to eat.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
When I arrived it was morning and I was starving! Down the road about 2-3 blocks, there is a small cafe called The Canal Bank Cafe. It was wonderful there and very reasonably priced. The waitress chatted with us for some time and told us where to hang out.
